- It’s summer, it’s hot, it’s Tennessee creek walking time! I hope everyone is staying cool. This is how some of us beat the heat in Tennessee. I hope y’all enjoy the artifacts and fossils we run across.
Another solid video man! Those creeks can be rough on the artifacts! Those guys that are fortunate enough to hunt mostly sandy creeks have it made.. they seem to find more whole pieces I’m guessing due to the lack of other rocks to bust them up! Thanks again man and good luck!

The squid you showed at the beginning; in Missouri I know where theres a bed of those fossilized squid tentacle tips. They're really cool

Hello from Claiborne County. Most of the rocks I find come from the Powell River here and I also hunt the Clinch River in Grainger County. Back in the 70s-90s I hunted Cocke County quite a bit.
Hey thanks for sharing we are in Middle Tennessee but love visiting the Cumberland Plateau and GSMNP. We were not around in the 70s but that was a great time to be a artifact hunter with all the plowing going on in the fields. Thanks for watching!
Nice video. Glad your son goes along with you and finds artifacts. Good hobby to pass along. Love TN, went to school in Nashville and got to hunt areas in the 80s that are no longer available.

@@TennesseeRocks I know exactly what you mean, but one thing to think about is that those people might look at your stuff and think the same thing, I have it with my videos things I find and I might not think they are amazing and then other collectors from other areas find them amazing.
@@Ontario_Rockhound That’s a very good point. Everyone’s local area has something unique to offer. Do you find fossilized sea coral in your area ? It’s one of my favorite things to find. I’m just amazed at how different Tennessee’s climate and geography was long ago!

@@TennesseeRocks I do, if you check my first fossil hunting video, I believe it has Hungry Hallow in the name, it has some really cool corals I found during the trip.

love the channel found you not long ago . me and my wife have tried finding geodes for a while now. we have always found beautifull rocks and stones and are still learning. we live in clevland tenn .and our problem is (where?) were like lost on where to start we travel the forest service rds around ocoee and tellico plains all across the Cherokee national forest we love the peacefulness. are we even close in those areas ..
Thanks for watching! We have done a little gold panning in the Coker Creek area but I’m not very familiar with your area. We are in southern middle Tennessee on the border of the highland rim and the central basin. Best advice is get to know other rock hounds that hunt in your area. In our area you could drive north 20 miles and never find a geode. A good book is roadside geology of Tennessee. Keep looking and enjoy the hunt. Take care and thanks for leaving a comment!

We don’t give out specific location information but we are in middle Tennessee. Try around short mountain and Woodbury. That’s in your area I believe. Sometimes just takes some trial and error. Good luck!

do you know of any good spots near the Mboro area?
I have not hunted much around that area. I’ve done some caving around Short Mountain though. I really like that area. I would use google maps on satellite view and hit the creeks in that area! Thanks for watching!
Hey Morgan, thought I’d chime in and throw a couple suggestions out there. Stones river produces some nice stuff! The upper end of Percy priest in the East and West fork is a good area as well. Pretty much any stream that flows year round is a good candidate for hunting. Good luck out there man!
