- It was certainly Robbie Burns and his Ode to Haggis that landed this on the snack shelf! But crunching on a chip dusted in haggis-that might gies me the boke.

Pluto. We are from NM, USA and our fav five-o-nosh/ bubbly is Margaritas with salt on the rim, fresh tortilla chips, fresh pico and warm queso dip. We had it before din tonight and we cut off the news for once and sat on the patio listening to crickets and the distant howls of coyotes. Perfect. Love to you and mom!

Greetings from the Californialands! I only went to Scotland for the first time 3 years ago. I’ve been to England and Wales, several times, but not Scotland. So I felt that I had to try Haggis. I have a wee bit every year when I go to a Burns Supper, but I thought I should try the real thing in situ. So I ordered a small bowl of Haggis and asked the proprietor to pour me the best whiskey to drink with it. I have to say that the combination was pretty darn good! The trick and is not thinking about what it’s made from. I know that if I’d taken some home to our pup, he would have devoured it in a trice.
It would take alot of really great whiskey.
Linda Amspaugh Haggis actually tastes good. A rich meaty porridge. The trick is not thinking about the lungs and heart and things in it. 🤢 But really, why should those be any difference than eating animal muscle?
@@trishbenedict6588 Right! Americans eat liver though many people dislike it and try to disguise it in a dish with gravy and onions. So heart, lungs, and liver isn't much different except it might actually taste better!

Oh Pluto! I am a Canadian who loves haggis and the neeps an tatties (parsnips and potatoes) that accompany it! I have been to the Scottish lands and enjoyed haggis many times. You are very correct about its content and the bubblies that the Scots drink. That Scottish bubbly called Scotch is smooth, especially the single malt kind. It goes very well with the haggis. I think you are wise to stick to your favourite snacks and leave the haggis to those of us who enjoy it. I enjoyed this segment very much. You always add so much joy to my day. Thank you.

Snacks from the Florida-lands are equally unusual! 🐊 gator bites, ( like a chicken nuggets but 🐊), conch fritters, (fried- battered sea snails or shellfish), shrimp ‘n grits ( shrimp served over a creamy steamy bowl of cheesy grits-it’s good 😋stuff actually) and the best thing going down here, is key lime pie ( tart delicious pie made from the key lime)- yum-oh! And the dog’s🐕favorite treat is the drive up, pup cup ( whipped cream).

I am of Scottishlands heritage😁 while in Scotland, I tried a wee bit of Haggis; it was surprisingly good! Of course it was on mashed tatties with a little cream sauce. I'm with you Pluto, love steamed puddings (of course with a little custard). 🐕❣

Hi Pluto and Pluto’s Mama. In Albania we eat paça, often for breakfast if you have a hangover. It’s tripe and pig feet cooked in a ‘fragrant’ (😂) broth with lots of garlic and vinegar. Oh, and we have raki (a grape or plum moonshine) with all meals - including breakfast. Another favorite snack is baked sheep head. We usually have one in the refrigerator, and will pick at the cheeks, eyes, or brains as a snack during commercials. And yes, we have children - 5 of them. 2 daughters and 3 sons and they love these foods also. They make you feel strong and we can climb through the mountains for hours without tiring.

Hi my cute Pluto. I'm from the Californialands and I'm Mexican, my mom and dad from the Mexicolands. Don't know if you've heard about a very popular dish we make called Menudo. It's a soup made from cow stomach and cow's feet. I know, I know, sweet pluto, it sounds so bad but you would be surprised how many people love this popular dish. I'm a real squeamish type of 2 legged person, but it is very tasty! It's made with fresh red chilies, Hominy, onions, bay leaf and top it off with cabbage, lemon, onions, radishes, and oregano. Trying to get other 2 legged friends that haven't heard of it or eaten it is really hard cuz they get squeamish hearing what it is but when some of them are brave enough to try it they end up liking it very much and they even want more! I like it very much and think u and ur mum would like it as well. Sometimes you just need to not know what's in some dishes and try them. My family raised our children eating this when they didn't know what's in it and they grew up loving it even after they know what's in it. This dish is traditionally made during the holidays and is a staple for New Year's or after a big party because it is known for the best remedy for when you drink way too much of that special juice. It makes the hangover go away and then you're ready to continue to enjoy ur day instead of being sick all day. You should try it some day.

If your Mom ever drove you down here to the south-east Pennsylvania-lands,
I would make you a big slice of Habbersett Scrapple. Scrapple is a Pennsylvania Amish (German) dish made with ground scraps of pork (but you don't want to know which parts of the piggy they came from), oatmeal, wheat flour and spices put in a loaf pan. Then you cut off a little slice and fry it up.
I'm sure you would do your snack dance for it.

He used to eat the NASTIEST stuff, like cannibal sandwiches (RAW ground meat with salt, pepper & onion on bread), heart, lung & brain! I used to have to leave the room while my grandmother cooked that stuff!
