As another commenter as already said, there's no reason she should be homeless at all and you have to doubt her story. There's so many holes in her story, it's crazy. **LONG, LONG COMMENT INCOMING FROM EX HOUSING OFFICER** I worked as a housing officer and 'career homelessness' is real, unfortunately. You meet so many people like this, where they spin you a long and complicated story and just one look at their notes and that story comes unvravelling in a flash. Also If she was stuck in abusive relationships there's plenty of women's refuges that would take her in while the council work with her to put a roof on her head. I worked with plenty of people who seemed lovey like this woman but literally couldnt muster the responsibility to boil an egg. The type of person who would take their last tenner to feed their kids with to the shops and come back with a pot noodle and a magic bean. Some of the self inflicted situations you come across on a daily basis blows you away. I could honestly carry on typing for hours about all the crazy situations people put themselves in and it's even crazier when you realize these people have poor kids depending on them. people get put in emergency housing, they get given money to pay rent with by the council and STILL end up getting evicted AGAIN for not paying rent. You ask them what they spent the money on and they tell you 'we needed an oven or curtains etc' but you ask the housing association how much they owe and it's like 9 grand, and the debt officer has tried working with them to get the arrears under control but they wont answer calls or letters.. another classic is when they have relatives or roots abroad and decide to just up and leave and uproot the kids to go join them and they barely had a penny to rub together when they left and after a few months decide to come back without a pot to piss in. This is after they've given up the housing they had, they're usually jobless and couldnt afford leaving the UK in the first place, let alone the move back - and I'm not kidding or exaggerating here - you ask them what the plan was when you touched down in the UK and they usually say there wasnt one. Can't even be bothered to make up a convincing cover story. It all comes down to one question - do they have kids? Having kids is the golden ticket it seems. I've seen people who are absolutely lovely and easy to get on with absolutely take the piss and abuse the house they are given for years get evicted finally then moved right on to a fresh new house. In one instance, due to the laws of housing people with kids that varied in age and gender, they were moved on to a BIGGER house. Ultimately rewarded for not paying rent and destroying their house. A house that could have gone to someone who desperately needed it. Even when the council wipe their hands with you (that's VERY rare) social services will swoop in and keep you off the streets. If you have kids, it's near IMPOSSIBLE to become homeless if you're aware of the help. Even if you're not, there's an organisation who actively looks for people on the streets to direct them to housing. One last story that really bugged me - there was this lad, I think around 25, would always be on the floor outside my local tescos and naturally, I felt sorry for him. He alwats seems so warm and friendly, wouldnt harm a fly. I started my job with the council a while after and sat in on one of their meetings they have about long term know cases they are struggling to help and as they describe one case, I recognise it's this same lad they're talking about and guess what - he's been given EVERY known shred of help available to get him up on his feet and he's thrown it ALL back at the council. His reason? It's easier to get drugs in hostels etc and at least he can control how much he takes on the street. That's what he tells the tesco staff who feed him at the end of every shift. That's horseshit when you hear at this meeting how he was set up in his own flat and even helped with his UC claim. Now he's shunned by the other local homeless because he had a flat and just threw it away. Turns out he makes enough money outside the 24 hour tesco and gets enough food that he cant be bothered with the responisbility of keeping a flat and attending appointments (again, just looking at their notes tells you everything) I go back to tescos after that meeting, and sure enough he's there - some mother giving her little kid change to give him and he's saying god bless you for the help etc... Ever since I saw the housing side of things I look at people on the street much differently. I used to apply the knee jerk tragic narrative to anyone I saw on the street but now the first thing I think is wow, what did they do? They must have fucked up SPECTACULARLY to be sleeping on the streets. Bear in mind I've seen serious addicts get kicked out of hostels and rehab for attacking staff and STILL get helped by housing. I've seen travelling families come in and get housed. That's why when I hear one of those stories that starts with 'the council wont help me, they're happy to see me on the streets' it makes me roll my eyes because you know that these days, you've done SOMETHING stupid. You've made yourself homeless somehow. And it's not like forgetting to fill a form in or missing an appointment with the job centre and getting sanctioned - it has to be a HUGE reason. My point for behind all this I guess is that's it's so hard to end up homeless these days if you're aware of the help. Worst case scenario, you'll be stuck in a shit B&B while the council find you somewhere. personally, i now feel that if you see someone on the street, the most valuable thing you can give them is advice, not cash. point them towards the nearest housing office where they can get to the root of why this person is homeless because its almost garaunteed you wont get the real story just asking them.
If go to the council and present my self as homeless they will stick u in a hostel for about 10 years becoz of the housing shortage and even if they do end up offering u a flat in the end it’s way too far away from family and friends

I would luv to see more update on this lady her energy is amazing and uplifting plus very very Intelligent she could bring so much to jobs compare to the water down young ones in job roles who do manager roles who don't have a clue
I count my lucky stars that I have a vehicle. My country isn't as cold as England so I really feel for you going through a English winter. I was robbed in my first week of homelessness, I literally woke up with someone going through my things on the passenger seat. I really want a van, something I can put a bed in the back of, like Will from "Will's whereabouts" UA-cam channel (he taught me so much!). It's so true, people won't look mean the eyes anymore, even my friends, I haven't even shared what I'm going through at the moment but the ones who know always start sentences with "sorry that I can't help you out at the moment" or "Please let me give you some money, I feel terrible that I can't do more". I don't want their money, I've ever asked for any type of help so I don't understand why I've become so abhorrent to look at.....

Great to hear that your story turned out well!
Great to hear that. Needs real motivation and courage hard work. It’s like the story of the frog in a hot water pan on a cooker.
I hope she's doing fine now
Anyone can become homeless, no one should judge anyone

She's so talented.
Lovely lady hope she gets a house and back to a normal life
How can one get in touch with this lady? She is soo adorable
I always thought Shadwell was a fictional area in London due to the film I.D
She’s a wonderful women
Not many people see this and they should see this
Life is a challenge for all of us. For the homeless, survival is the focus, not landing a job.
She is a londoner and they say they are no Londoners in London loads of rubbish there are all kinds of Londoners that are homeless.
She is amazing :) ❤️
Please find her make her safe xxx
Why don't you do it?
Yes
I can't work out why homeless people still hang out in London.
I would go where there's jobs .
I've never understood why London draws in so many homeless.
I would luv to see more update on this lady her energy is amazing and uplifting plus very very Intelligent she could bring so much to jobs compare to the water down young ones in job roles who do manager roles who don't have a clue
'I'd rather be content in the gutter' there is a lady who knows what the important things in life are. IMO
It could happen to anyone of us, all it takes is a series of unfortunate events and bang you are homeless. It can be a long road back unfortunately.
I've seen this kind of stuff before and seen lots of manic depressive types in my life. Good luck!
Wish there was a follow up on some of these people to see how they have fared.
Let the God help her to Come out from the present Situation 🙏🙏🙏
Wow! What a lovely girl. I lived in shadwell. This can happen to anyone. I’d help her in a heartbeat. Hook us up with these people.

Drug addiction is not good 🤬
I count my lucky stars that I have a vehicle.
❤️ ❤️ ❤️ Bless her xx
