  • Taken from WVIT's public affairs program Connecticut Newsmakers. WVIT (channel 30) is located in New Britain, but broadcasts for the Hartford-New Haven market as an NBC O&O.
The show ran long and ended up getting cut in favor of NBC's NFL coverage. The Peacock would lose NFL rights the next year to CBS, which had just lost its longtime NFL coverage to Fox, and NBC also carried the 1998 Super Bowl. NFL would return to NBC in 2006, where it remains today, and now in fact all four networks air NFL coverage.
    (C) 1996 Viacom, now part of Paramount Global; WVIT is now owned by NBC Owned Television Stations. All rights go to their respective owners, same for the advertisements. For educational and historical purposes only. We do not profit off this video.
