Junkie’s Tape Bin
Приєднався 7 лют 2018
Featuring clips I have found from VHS tapes. Commercial breaks and news clips galore.
Please note I do not take requests, as these tapes are what I find online, at flea markets, through trading or at garage sales/estate sales. What I find may not be what you want to see on the channel so please refrain from requesting content.
I also do not own any of these clips. All of them belong to their respective owners.

WNYT Commercial Breaks (July 2, 2011)
Taken from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit reruns on NBC affiliate WNYT (channel 13) in Albany, New York. SVU is entering its 26th season on NBC this year as part of "Law & Order Thursday."
Law & Order: LA was also another show airing on the Peacock that season, but it wasn't as successful. NBC revived the OG Law & Order in 2022 after 12 years of a hiatus, and now Law & Order: Organized Crime airs alongside both shows.
(C) 2011 Hubbard Broadcasting. All rights go to their respective owners, same for the advertisements. For educational and historical purposes only. We do not profit off this video.

WNYT 11pm Newscast (July 2, 2011; First 2 Minutes)
Переглядів 12022 години тому
The beginning of News Channel 13 Live at 11, the weekend edition, on WNYT, the NBC station in Albany, NY. WNYT's newscasts have been called "News Channel 13" since September of 1991. Kumi Tucker anchors, and Dan Levy reports. The top story is on resignations in a tactical team in Troy, plus another teased story on a drunk driver crashing his car into a building, with the security cam footage in...
WTEN Commercial Breaks (July 4, 1999)
Переглядів 3092 години тому
Taken from the Motorola Western Open coverage, ABC World News Sunday and WTEN's news. WTEN (channel 10) is the ABC affiliate in Albany, NY. I kept this separate from Golf Week because I was planning to upload this on July 4th this year, 25 years to the airdate. However I was on vacation for the 4th and didn't bring the tape with me (because vacation) so I put it off for a month. (C) 1999 Young ...
WTEN 6pm Newscast (July 4, 1999; Complete)
Переглядів 2872 години тому
Complete 6pm edition of News 10, airing on WTEN in Albany, New York, the Capital Region's ABC affiliate. The news technically aired at 6:30 because of golf coverage; the ABC national news preceded the local news. I'm still giving it the 6pm title because the news opens display it. Steve Ammerman is the anchor, Melissa Sander has Doppler Weather, John Spadafora has sports, and reporting are Tash...
WXXA Commercial Breaks (August 23, 1988)
Переглядів 4114 години тому
Taken from WXXA's Moving Picture showing of The Magnificent Seven. WXXA-TV (channel 23) is a Fox affiliate located in Albany, New York, and this is my first Albany upload after a two-and-a-half week break. Included is a Fox News Update anchored by Cora-Ann Mihalik. This aired out of the studios of WNYW in New York City, where Mihalik was an anchor at the time. The updates usually aired on Fox s...
KCBS Commercial Breaks (February 25, 1994)
Переглядів 3797 годин тому
Taken from CBS' coverage of the 1994 Winter Olympics. This is a twinning with WRGB from the same day on this channel, from CBS' West Coast flagship, KCBS-TV (channel 2) in Los Angeles. This was back when Olympics coverage was extensive but selective. 2024 marks a record amount of coverage poured in for the Olympics on TV, with NBCUniversal's 7,000 hours, including 5,000 on streaming service Pea...
KCBS Olympic News Update (February 25, 1994)
Переглядів 1967 годин тому
A news update airing during coverage of the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics, on CBS O&O KCBS-TV (channel 2) in Los Angeles, CA. This was the second-to-last time CBS aired the Olympics. Bree Walker and Michael Tuck anchor the news. They briefly run down stories on Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan, plus a teaser on David Letterman's early days as an Indiana weatherman. Watch parties all over the countr...
KTTV's Good Day LA (February 17, 1994; Partial)
Переглядів 3609 годин тому
Partial broadcast of "Good Day LA," the morning newscast on Fox O&O KTTV (channel 11) in Los Angeles. The show began in June of 1993, and as of 2022 it runs for 7 hours, from 4am to 11am. In 1994 the show was anchored by Tony McEwing (who was off that day; I think that's Mark Thompson or Rick Garcia in for him) and Susan Lichtman (later Susan Taylor when she worked in San Diego). Also featured ...
WTVH Commercial Breaks (May 9, 2003)
Переглядів 7399 годин тому
Taken from the Murder She Wrote TV movie "The Celtic Riddle," airing locally on CBS affiliate WTVH (channel 5) in Syracuse. This was actually taped in Utica, where CBS is carried on WTVH. The Celtic Riddle was the final of four movies adapted from the Murder She Wrote series. CBS aired the show itself for 12 seasons, and it was a comeback vehicle for Hollywood great Angela Lansbury (who died in...
WTVH 11pm Newscast (May 9, 2003; First 2 Minutes)
Переглядів 2409 годин тому
The start of the 11:00 newscast on CBS affiliate WTVH (channel 5) in Syracuse, New York. This was back when WTVH aired its own news, and wasn't sharing resources with WSTM; however their news was still low-rated. Matt Mulcahy and Maureen Green have the news, with a report from CBS on a shooting at Case Western Reserve University. 62-year-old Biswanath Halder killed a student and injured two pro...
WVIT Commercial Breaks (November 3, 1996)
Переглядів 31812 годин тому
Taken from WVIT's public affairs program Connecticut Newsmakers. WVIT (channel 30) is located in New Britain, but broadcasts for the Hartford-New Haven market as an NBC O&O. The show ran long and ended up getting cut in favor of NBC's NFL coverage. The Peacock would lose NFL rights the next year to CBS, which had just lost its longtime NFL coverage to Fox, and NBC also carried the 1998 Super Bo...

Переглядів 16412 годин тому
Part of the WVIT public affairs show, Connecticut Newsmakers, cut off at the end by NBC's coverage of Sunday football (which I didn't capture of course). WVIT (channel 30) has been owned by NBC since 1997, and is located in New Britain, Connecticut. The show was hosted by Tom Monahan, and he panels with Nancy Johnson and Charlotte Koskof at the beginning (I think I spelled her name right). Late...

#olympics The 2024 Olympics have officially begun! Granted this video is from the Winter Olympics, but it's still Olympics regardless. And it's an Olympic-sized upload for sure! This is from then-CBC station CKWS-DT (channel 11) in Kingston, Ontario, making this my second Canada upload. CKWS is now owned by Global Television Network, and was also part of CTV for three years. The tapings were of...
WCVB Commercial Breaks (November 3, 1996)
Переглядів 47621 годину тому
Taken from This Week with David Brinkley on WCVB-TV (channel 5), ABC's affiliate in Boston, MA. Strangely, this was taped off WCVB and not WTNH, as this was from my Hartford haul. Brinkley, who died in 2003, was also an anchor at NBC. He anchored The Huntley-Brinkley Report and also was an on-off anchor during the 70s on NBC Nightly News. George Stephanopoulos now holds Brinkley's spot on This ...
WCVB's Five on 5 (November 3, 1996; First 6 Minutes)

Politics aside, appropriate I am uploading this amid election chaos! This is "Five on 5," a public affairs show airing on WCVB-TV in Boston. It aired on a Sunday, which typically was the place for public affairs programming. Most stations however air weekend news on Sunday mornings now, including WCVB itself. Hosted by Peter Mehegan, longtime "Chronicle" host, he discusses the Massachusetts con...

RIP Tiny Tim
CBS aired a short-lived TV series of the same name almost a decade later.
0:46 Newman!
Aaaaaaaah. This brings back memories of my childhood.
I say that's Mark Thompson.
What about Movie Greats
Susan Lichtman worked at now-NBC O&O WTVJ in South Florida during the late 1980s-early 1990s before joining KTTV in LA.
Counterpoint was used by fellow CBS affiliate WHIO in Dayton, OH for its newscasts during the course of the 1990s.
One thing I find cool is they still use the same music for the traffic report... as far as the chopper itself though I'm a little confused... they called it "SkyFox in this clip", then "Sky 11" in the mid-late 90s, then back to "skyfox" a short time later...?
WPIX replaced it’s theme 3 months later.
Before the days of Steve Edwards, Jillian Barberie and Dorothy Lucey.
+JUNKIE'S TAPE BIN PLEASE CAN YOU UPLOAD WVIZ COMMERCIAL BREAKS (MARCH 2, 2009) WITH NEWS WITH JIM LEHRER AND NBR PLEASE
New England is very unique. CT, VT, NH, and RI all have only one DMA while both Mass. and Maine have three (Boston, New Bedford/Providence, and Springfield for Mass.; Portland, Bangor, and Presque Isle for Maine).

You didnt need flip the channel from cbs to abc. From Olympics to all my children
Nice upload/channel.Im 86 baby so u know i ❤ the 90 s😊
1992 was the last time in which both the Winter & Summer Olympics would ever be held in the same calendar year. The 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics were the first to be held in an even-numbered, non-leap year & to this day, all subsequent Winter Olympics are now held every four years in an even-numbered, non-leap year (Cortana/Milan, Italy will host the next Winter Olympics in 2026).
Should restage it in 2024 due to covid 19
I have tons of airchecks from Channel 9's airings of Dr. Who (with introductions by Howard Da Silva from 1981-83. I watch them for nostalgia now.
Hearst also owns fellow ABC affiliate WMUR in Manchester, NH, which is part of the Boston market. In fact, Boston is the only DMA where two ABC affiliates in the same market are owned by the same company.
One week after this broadcast would by David Brinkley’s last as host of This Week. From then on until 1997, he provided just his end-of-the-show commentaries.
Junkie's Tape Bin Where Is The National Anthem?
Weekend morning newscasts were mostly unheard of until the 1990s.
Where's The National Anthem?
THANK YOU FOR THIS
"You're Watching 11 Alive WPIX New York, New York's Movie Station."
This is my all time favorite intro on a Ch 11 movie. Loved the 3D animation of New York City. The 8 O'Clock Movie theme was brassy. I remember watching them as a little kid in East Keansburg, New Jersey.
PIX gave us so much pleasure with those iconic movie intros showing a 3D replica of the Apple from 1984 to 2000.
Good ol days. I was 13.
At the 2:08 mark is an ad for Kings Dominion, which is located in Doswell, VA. Six Flags Entertainment Corp., owner of the present-day Six Flags America (located near Upper Marlboro, MD), completed its acquisition of Kings Dominion's former owner, Cedar Fair, earlier this month.
Yes sir! Your oldest find is from Cinco de Mayo 1980! And you also have the same news open in your WJLA-TV news opens video over on your ID Junkie channel!
There are literally two ads that were Vegas based. One an ad for Nevada Power, and the other one was a Hyundai copy and paste for Fletcher Jones? Why call it VEGAS week if you're just going to play nationally televised commercials for 95% of the video?
I am going to be upset if I watch this whole 9 minute 22 second video and I don't see an ad for "The Furniture Store." 'Who Loves Ya, Baby? The Furniture Store, That's Who'
I miss when Television was this dang magical in the 80s😢
Especially New York City television. 📺
@@drummingdanny84 heck yea brother new jersey and new york 😎👍
Grew up on Long Island watching channel 11. Had to watch this. Thanks!

Nope. Neither those commercials doesn't ring the bell. Oh wait! It said "April 26, 1989". So I guess that means I was born September 26th.🤷🏿♂️
This is NOT to be confused with KPLR in St. Louis, MO.
After Meredith Corporation acquired KVVU-TV 5 (now Fox 5) Henderson-Las Vegas in 1985, the station transitioned to the Meredith-owned numeric stylized "TV 5" logo which was also used by their sister stations KCTV 5 in Kansas City, KPHO-TV 5 in Phoenix (now a CBS affiliate), and WNEM-TV 5 in Bay City-Saginaw-Flint-Midland, Michigan (now a CBS affiliate), and former sister station WTVH 5 in Syracuse, New York which is now owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group. Gray Media Group, Inc. now owns these 4 TV stations after their acquisition from Meredith Corporation.
