  • This is mostly just a test. Comment below if you want to see more raw GoPro edits like this.
The Venter Ache in Oetztal is a classic section of rapids for many kayakers. Spending time in the valley really allows you to get comfortable on all the different sections and push the amount of water you drop into them. In all honesty, with an experienced crew, this river at this flow is just a fun, good time out with my mates.
However the water is freezing cold as it melts off the glacier upstream, it doesn't really stop and if you where to swim out of your kayak, I think it would be pretty gnarly trying to get to the side.
Make good decisions, respect your skill level and have a sick time on the water!

Cheers mate, one of those nice flows ones where the river just gives it to you!

It was rad how the camera stayed and you rotated around it. How did you edit that?

Sick video. I think the normal perspective is better, because you be more like in the paddlers position. Furthermore you see more the feature of the river and how rowdy it is. With this camera it's more like an better overview, but I think it's a little less the paddlers view. Nice run 💪💪💯

That is one crazy, crazy ride!
I remember smashing a paddle in half on the Venter Ache and using what was left to C1 the rest of the section before safely making it to an eddy. Boy was I glad to be carrying a spare!
I can't imagine paddling it at that flow. You make it look easy but I know it is not. Epic skills.

I agree - long unedited runs are the best. Especially with other kayakers up front of the camera - better perspective for the viewer and more interesting for the POV.

I think its better as its tiresome to look at the regular zoomed in pov. Wonder if you scout these rivers or just send it. Maybe you've ran it before but at a much lower flow, the river could have a gigantic hole that formed, but it looks like you are unconcerned with what is ahead.

I have kayaked this section a lot. Honestly I got taken down it pretty high with some locals my first time so I've always known it could handle water. Since then I have done it at every level and know it pretty well so I feel pretty comfortable out there!
