That cover is VERY reminiscent of the old Games Workshop edition, which is where my love of the game began. Nice call back!

I literally bought this today for the revamped Dead Man's stop (one of my favorite scenarios from earlier editions)
And Victor Leza does indeed have some amazing art work.
Noisecode's Archive I forgot to mention this in my review, but I especially love the cover of Book Two. Their faces are hilarious.
Just as an update to anyone still considering this set...apparently, Chaosium listened to some feedback from a different review. I just received my set, and all of the handout materials are now unbound. They're still printed on the same high quality, glossy paper as the bound materials in the book, but they are now on loose pages, single sided, one handout per page. This will make it easier to make copies and/or distribute to players. Very nice adjustment on Chaosium's part
Yeah, I saw that in Seth's review. Didn't occur to me at the time as I tend not to cut out handouts from original sets and will normally print them from the .pdf. Good to see that Chaosium took it onboard.

I think the reason why the box is a little taller is for us to pile our stuff easily into it, without having to fold or scrap the edge of our PC sheets, handouts, pens and dice. A great box to use while going away to friends and have a good session of CoC ! At last it is how I'm using the box ...
That's all well and good, but it still doesn't fit on my shelf!

No. The Alone Against the Flames is single player - the other ones are for a full party.

Re cover, the blacks and women were always the focal point in any Lovecraft story.

it does seem a LITTLE heavy-handed, in that instead of just an "inclusive party" with a woman and a black dude, there seems to be a clear hierarchy with the white woman the focal point in all the art, followed by the black male at #2, and lastly the white male.
