This is cool seeing as a dome builder. For Domes what we do is all the framing members have a bevel angle that has to do with dihedral angles based off of icosahedron shape & dome frequency (complexity) and all the triangle frames are attached together via structural screws. Look up timber frame dome builds and it will make sense.

Apparently, a suburb of Dallas-Ft Worth has a new development of dome homes. This overcomes the issue of city and community permit approval.

It's been on my list for a while, but still haven't got around to it.
I really enjoyed this video, my husband and I purchased a geodesic dome home back in 2013. It was in desperate need of repair and challenged us beyond belief. I'd send you some pics if I knew how. It is a 5000 sq ft, 10 sided, 3 story, 50' diameter main structure with a 20' diameter 2 story, foyer and upstairs bonus room attached. Still not done!

I love these videos. Id like to see a simple 2,000 ft2 home, 30x75. Piers. I'm attempting to build one now, and I will figure it out as I go. I drew it out on paper, buts that not written in stone. I'd like to take advantage of solar, I and intend to slope the pitch of the roof to match my latitude.
