I’m glad yall realized that the movie voice for sonic was the shape smith
- Thaedus?
**Rips off the beard revealing clean cut mustache**
-THAEDUS THE VILTRUMITE?!
@AstaXNoelle When he ripped the beard off that’s the first thing that came to my mind
😂😂😂😂😂
Glad I’m not the only one who thought that was funny too, and everyone acted like it was a normal thing and I was crazy ☠️☠️☠️
The perfect reference ✨️
PERRY??
Don't be fooled. The Lizard Group only seemed like joke villains because the Guardians would usually fight them with a full team, but literally all of their heavy hitters, like Eve or Immortal, are off planet, so nobody was there to help with Komodo Dragon.
And don't forget, the original league probably didn't need their full squad, they were genuinely too much. But the new team needs practically everyone, missing 2 at most
eve is not a guardian but yeah
Robot and Monster Girl could probably have taken Komodo too. Someone with superhuman strength and durability.
Without that, they're just a bunch of squishy humans.
I feel like they didn’t need to bring ALL those bricks to space. Leave Monster Girl or Bulletproof at least, that might have saved them
Heck, they should've had backup with them even if the Lizard League are a joke.
There was a group of (seemingly off-brand) heroes during that one fight against Omnipotus.
Being so strong to kill someone INSIDE OF YOU is one of the hardest things I’ve seen
😂😂

The fact that the reveal (same as the comics) for Thaedus being a Viltrumite was simply ripping off his own beard is CRAAAAZY
Yeah,that shit's gotta HURT!
Oh that wasn't a fake beard?
It's been pretty funny seeing the confused pause from some reactors. They're like "ok?...what does that mean?" Then Allen calls him out.

@@megarayquaza9054
Nah.
Viltrumites can grow a beard.
The mustache is just their signature look.
Nolan grew a beard in the time he spent on the world that kept invading Earth back in S1, but it was gone the next episode.
Same as when Nolan was flying through space and eyeballing the black hole to end it all.
The ripping off of the beard is a sign to other Viltrumites that you are a Viltrumite.
Thaedus taught Allen about Viltrumites, and how to fight them.
He knew Allen would recognize the move.
There's always something disturbing Watching super heroes getting slaughtered
Maybe because we use to think they were "Invincible" LOL
Yea true I was expecting Kate, Rae, and Rex to just demolish the Lizard league
@@kai8617tbh they would’ve won if they swapped opponents and fought slightly different.
That's why Invincible is a great comic it deconstructs classic comic tropes like heroes here get killed and stay dead no magical bullshit or anything they dead dead
@@kai8617 If the Guardians had left any of their heavy hitters with Rex/Kate/Shrinking Rae, it probably would've been a completely different outcome
@@cluster_f1575 Not even a heavy hitter just any other hero would have made a difference. One hero to keep Iguana busy while Rex helped deal with Komodo would have been enough. Plus, all they needed was Rex to start off the fight with throwing something big and charged into the room as soon as the doors opened like soldiers do when they breach a room. Heck, they could have started off with knockout gas filling up the hallway completely outside the doors then when Ray opened the doors the whole room gets flooded and not even the hallways is a good escape from the gas. They really just needed to be smarter.
Cecil isn't a hologram when he shows up. He's got teleportation technology.
right
sometimes he is, sometimes he isnt
@@Rudyrats What makes you say that?
LOL and it cost the government millions just to teleport him
FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT!
Rex: THEY JUMPIN ME! THEY JUMPIN MEEEEEE! SAVE YA BOY!
“What happened?”
The thing about Lizard League is… They are only a joke when compared to the Guardians of the Globe.
Against the lower ranks like the team in this episode, they are much more dangerous and deadly.
Yeah, even the New Guardians, with Immortal, Black Samson, Monster Girl and Bulletproof could probably clap the Lizard League, but they left only the three weakest members, they never stood a chance of winning with no casualties
@@pabloc8808 Even then it would have been possible to win without casualties if they had teamed against each League member instead of fighting one on one
Edit: Reply below makes great point
@@aab1254Nah bro, Komodo Dragon was crazy strong. If it was Rex, Rae and Kate vs him it would've been easy, but it was 3v3, there was no way to focus down one by one. It's not turn-based y'know

Bro his voice getting mega deep was too close to Optimus
Fun fact: they made Shrinking Rae's death way worse in the show than in the comics. In the comics, she just gets eaten and chewed up. That death also shows exactly how much of a difference super strength makes. Remember Rae has no powers other than shrinking and can't grow larger than her normal size, so when she grew inside Komodo Dragon's throat it was her regular human strength vs his super strength
Yep. Folks forget that super strength and durability isn't just on the outside.
@@OverworkedITGuyunless you’re Luke Cage😂😂😂😂
@@jeremiahscott2032 Luke's durability may just be his skin, but his strength is still all the way through. Also one of the reasons Jessica jones was so interested in him at first. But she def wasn't expecting his awesomeness and just being a damned good dude to make her fall for him completely (even before she found out she had been knocked up with Danielle).
If the team had gone in prepared they had a way to win assuming lethal force but they just didn't take the league seriously and it cost them. Never underestimate people with super strength. Really it should be a prerequisite for all combat heroes. No way you would find me out there without some durability.
@@MeriliremThey definitely didn't have the right group comp to handle them at all. Komodo was the primary problem. He's the one that took everyone out. Without him, they might have stood a chance. But they just didn't have anyone to properly counter him. And definitely should have called in some backup
Shrinking Rae's death was genuinely one of the most disturbing things I've seen in animation. What a terrible way to go out.

Honestly, Rae’s death was just so brutal. Worst way to go. They give you this moment of horror, followed by hope that she will kill the guy and boom, she just dies instead.

@@TaxEvader22bro, what 🤣
Rex was actually fighting the goons and Iguana. He couldnt do anything before because he was actually do the moat work as it was. You also gotta remember the box just saw two of his teammates die. He was in far too much disbelief.
Also they weren't trying to kill them at first. As soon as Kate dies and they realize the stakes Rae shreds Salamander's brains and Rex starts getting his explosives. It's ironic, if the Lizard League fought the full power of the guardians they'd lose completely, but still all be alive. It's fighting the weaker heroes and creating a desperate situation that kills the ones this episode.
@@VegaSlides that also. We see Rex simply punch the generic goons. And he was toting with Iguana for most of it.
It was an even fight to the death but they didn't take it seriously. If they had gone in respecting the league they would have been able to kill them all without serious risks and losses. Though it would still be dangerous to a degree. Rex with his bombs was the win condition and yet they opened with a cheesy one liner and punches from people without any strength powers.
@Merilirem They weren't there to kill though.

Rex didn't throw the bombs before because in the past season he got criticism from the team and it messed with their chemistry on the field. if that makes sense.
Cecil is becoming more like Amanda Waller with every mission. He could left at least one or two heavy hitters with Rex while the others went to space.
Immortal alone probably handles the Lizard League with his higher strength and durability. Meanwhile Kate and Rex would be a lot better against the Sequids.
@@SSNamewouldnt kate be the absolute worst one to fight the sequids? She'd just be giving them free hosts
@@CrumpledMirror I was thinking maybe she could duplicate enough to equal the number of sequids or come close enough. Also, assuming any of these characters use their brains, they could work together. Idea, combo Rex and Duplikate, have Rex charge up clones (or their clothes since apparently Rex can only charge objects) to suicide bomb for AoE damage, better than just punching a single sequid while other sequids surround you.
@@SSName_I was thinking maybe_ _she could duplicate enough to equal_ _the number of sequids or come_ _close enough._
Dude, ...
Mark, Eve, and the Guardians were going up against like hundreds of thousands of Sequids, if not more. As Kate's fight against Komodo _in_ _this same episode_ shows, she has her limits.
They couldn't go because they were easy host, being regular humans with no physical defenses. Either they send their best heroes to handle a ship that'll end the world, or risk the effort not being great enough against it
Even though the main events in this episode are Mark's return with his brother and whole Sequids thing, hands down the Lizard League fight was a highlight.
Rex was the MVP of this episode. Dude, carried a fight, and I love, how this fight turns from average action scene to Rex's desperate attempt to survive, once he left alone.
Shrinking Rae died the worst way possible. Instead of just being swallowed, her death is much worse.
Rae's options weren't great, get digested alive or crushed to death via expansion
Option c is clog the throat
summed it up perfectly, easily the best part of the episode and everything else was amazing too
@@asdasasdas3476 in a situation like that anyone in Rae's shoes would've panicked and try to burst out
@@Doodle52 after getting caught, she only had two options. 1. try to take him out (which she tried) or 2. shrink and hope she'd survive. with everything that was happening, I don't blame her for going for option 1.
These new Guardians' greatest superpower is unpreparedness cause HOW TF DO YOU PLAN TO BOX WITH SEQUIDS WITH NO PLAN????
Is told they have a hive mind, meanwhile bulletproof: eww *squishes 1 alerts them all* bruh.
You know what’s funny? Rex might actually have a better matchup against those things than half the folks that went on the trip
Yeah that was incredibly stupid. They should've left Shapesmith to suffocate in space
Exactly!!!! The whole episode got me thinking like "why would they bring Monster girl and Bulletproof to space??? While Strengthwise Invincible and immortal is more than enough" Rex would 100% clear those parasites. Bad match ups, both on earth and on space.@@umapessoa240
@@umapessoa240 exactly!! The nxgga throws explosives, he can blow multiple of them things up without physically touching them
Tbf to Rex, his explosions wouldn’t do anything to the big guy without exploding him from the inside, and if he did that Rae would have died to, so his options were kinda scarce
"What is happening right now bro"
The guardians just sent all of their actually strong people into space, and the dregs with shit powers had to try to pull their weight for a change and couldn't.
Think of how easily Monster Girl or even Robot would have handled those lizards.
Cos they have super-durability.
Without that, you die as soon as someone with superhuman strength gets their hands on you.
Those three could have won is whats sad, but only if they went in with intent to kill everyone in the room. They have info on the league after all. So all they had to do is use Rex's bombs to eliminate them all one by one starting with Komodo. The moment the door was open they needed to start blasting and using Kate as suicide bombers.
They went in thinking the league was a joke though. Well, jokes on them.
“Where’s the weapons?” - sheera💀💀💀
Remember eve's backstory episode with the Guardions vs lizard league
Notice the heavy hiting guardions are fighting
going back and forward with the big lizard members
Basically the 3 hand to hand fighters are not ready for kamodo dragon
Am I crazy for suggesting that Duplikate MUST have an extra clone just hiding away in case of scenarios like this???
Nah but I wouldn't be surprised if she actually died
That's what I'd do, but there's probably a range limit or something, like if a clone gets too far from her main body it disappears. But even then, just hide. There is literally no reason for her main body to be on the front lines at any time.
yeah like just in a shack on the opposite side of the world or sum shit. bouta be knitting in peace and be like "oh shit, i think the last me just died"
Like Echo Echo from Ben 10 Ultimate Alien?
@@benapeh854Pretty much yeah
It's pretty understandable why Rex didn't do anything, when Rae got swallowed. He was confident, that she will make it, and using his explosives could hurt her.
But when he realised, that she is done, then he panicked. Throwing shit left and right and muttering "This is happening".
People can do insane things in serious situations, when adrenaline hits you.
It's also the Lizard League. Up till the return of King Lizard they were a joke. It's crazy to me people are asking why Rex didn't go all in from the get go despite Komodo Dragon being around Immortals level of power scaling. Like none of them could have took the dude. It's a miracle he survived and ironically enough only doing so cause he COULD damage him from the inside unlike Rae.
*This isn't happening
@@kingcaesar3693 that's also a complete fuck up from Cecil's side by sending all heavy hitters to Mars, while the weakest members stuck with Lizard League. Robot was supposed to stay on Earth and if they had him or Monster Girl, the situation could have been way more different.

Shrinking Rae literally exploding inside Salamander's body, is seriously fucked... Much more graphic than the comics! 😱
To think that this show couldn't get any more gruesome, it just prove me wrong.
I have a feeling, based off his face at 13:10, that Cecil knew he was probably sending them to their deaths.
One thing that never made sense to me about Invincible's worldbuilding is why the criminals are never executed once the heroes bring them in. The authors obviously aren't shy about killing off characters, and even the small-time villains, like the Lizard League, be racking up a serious body count. Hell, the Mauler twins killed tons of people, yet once they're arrested they're just thrown in a cell again, even after they made it abundantly clear they're gonna break out and kill again. It just doesn't make sense for a world as violent and gory as this for the courts to play softball with mass-murdering supervillains.
Yea stuff like that gets REALLY annoying when you repeatedly see them again and again. That's why people start leaning to Red hood and punisher as time goes on.
With the Mauler Twins though, they have a skill set and intelligence that has proven to be very useful, so executing them and losing the potential benefits their work and powers possess wouldn’t be smart on their part. It’s the same thing about the guy who made the androids in season 1 episode 6: his ideas, while immoral, turned out to be very useful. Can’t say much about the other villains that could’ve faced punishment, but I also can’t help but think, as a conspiracy theory, that maybe they don’t execute all of the villains since they could potentially be practice for heroes to improve their powers or the villains could eventually benefit the government’s endeavors in the future?
Bc the GDA is obsessed w holding on to things they think they can use later. Also, if you stop and look at their track record, the GDA are insanely incompetent.

I'm just confused on why people blame Rex & Cecile. Like...sure, Rex wasn't going all out, but neither was anyone else until Kate died. It wasn't til after that that everyone else was going in for the kill. As for Cecile, of course he sent all their heavy hitters out to deal with the sequids. 9:55 "To fuck up is human" is Rex's interpretation of the famous quote "To err is human" which just highlights the fact that humans are imperfect. "To make mistakes is human".
