Great video! I thought the same thing about Penelope Cruz when I saw Ferrari at the New York Film Festival last October. That she was the only chance for the movie to get an above the line Oscar nomination. She was great and would deserve another surprise nomination. But also now that I look at it, she did get a surprise nomination at the AACTA International Film Award nominations (Australia's version of the BAFTAs and Oscars). Once I saw that, I also knew she could be yet another potential surprise this year due to international support. I would have nudged out Margot Robbie for Greta Lee. I wonder if it factors that the actor needs to be apart of SAG-AFTRA to be nominated 🤔. I know for sure that Greta is a part of SAG-AFTRA because she’s popped up in American projects over the years including, recently, Russian Doll and The Morning Show. I agree: this is a race between Gladstone and Stone. I still have a trepidatious feeling for Bradley Cooper. He’s a great actor, and he did everything you’d want out of a performance, but from the technical side of things. To me, he didn’t really flesh out Bernstein like he did with Montealegre. This is why I don’t think and hope that makeup and actor go hand-in-hand at the Oscars like last year. Bradley didn’t shake me to my core like Fraser did last year with The Whale. It really sucks that this can be another nomination being the consolation win this season. I feel this has to be Cillian’s year; it’s just about time they finally recognize his talent. I wonder if May December squeaks its way to the Oscars with even a single acting nom. If so, I really hope it’s Charles Melton. @@RA-hx9uc Are we not all here for movies? Me saying I’m pissed might have been a bit of an exaggeration. But my point still stands. These nominations are ridiculously bad lol
Please educate me: Does someone have to be a member of SAG in order to be nominated? Is an international actress like Sandra Huller eligible to become a member of SAG? Is that why perhaps she was not nominated? (I haven't seen "Anatomy of a Fall," so I have no opinions on the film or her performance. I am truly just wondering about the prerequisites for a SAG nomination).
Sad about Greta! I think she should have gotten the nom instead of Annette or Carey, but who knows till they announce who's nominated? I also feel like Color Purple is losing its fire, especially with all the stuff that's coming out about the making of the movie
Hated the nominations. They felt really industry heavy. At the same time loved them, because they shook up a lot of races. Gotta love SAG doing this every year. 😂
May December is really on a shaky ground. No Bafta and no SAG is concerning cause those two unlike BFCA and Globes are industry votes, much of who also vote at the Oscars. Melton miss in not that surprising and im not sure he will make it at the Oscars cause his performance becomes impressive only if you watch the whole film, and i can see many voters just turning it off after 20 minutes. PLus he is an unknown and Todd Haynes films, the ones that were more Oscar friendly (Far from heaven and Carol) also underperformed. May December also offers a trio of very unlikable or annoying characters plus add the fact that the story is based on a very controversial topic, that all will turn off a lot of voters. I personally really wish they get nominated, especially Moore who gives a much more complex performance than half of the actual supporting actress contenders.
I agree..dicaprio same performance all films.and he always in middle.so cold.same emmy adams.always do not go far in performance. Dicaprio when he win oscar they flat him
I’m sorry but Annette Benning getting the nomination over Greta Lee, Fantasia, and Natalie Portman is absolutely ridiculous. Idc if it’s a more SAG friendly performance, that’s just terrible.
What are the chances that May December only goes into the Oscar’s with only an Original Screenplay nomination. Why why the Iron claw are getting this snubbed why!!! Zac efron deserve a nomination and the whole cast.
Pastlives should’ve been nominated somewhere here
I’m honestly kinda pissed. So many snubs I can’t name them all! No Pike, Keoghan, Hüller, Melton, and Lee hurts. And that Annette Bening nod just pissed me off. I couldn’t stand her performance or that movie. The complete absence of Saltburn, Anatomy of a Fall, Past Lives, and May December is just insane
Me too
Agree 100%
If you get pissed over something as insignificant as movies, there might be an issue.
@@RA-hx9uc Are we not all here for movies? Me saying I’m pissed might have been a bit of an exaggeration. But my point still stands. These nominations are ridiculously bad lol
Greta Lee not getting in so wrong.
No, you don't have to be in the union, you just have to be a member to vote.
@@sharonalbanese8084 Good to know! Thank you for that clarification. 😀
Sad about Greta! I think she should have gotten the nom instead of Annette or Carey, but who knows till they announce who's nominated? I also feel like Color Purple is losing its fire, especially with all the stuff that's coming out about the making of the movie
sterling k brown is a surprise, isn't it?
He was Also nominated for the critics choice
Not really. He’s a very SAG type of nominee.
Hated the nominations. They felt really industry heavy. At the same time loved them, because they shook up a lot of races. Gotta love SAG doing this every year. 😂
That’s what I said. A shit load of snubs, but it also made this race a lot more interesting as to who’s getting in and who’s not.
No greta lee noms 😭😭
PENELOPE CRUZ 🥰😍🤩😘❤❤❤❤❤💯💯💯❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥💥💥💫💫💕
Annette Benning is the right thing imo
Thanks for SAG for burying Dicaprio thing and nominating Domingo .. Dicaprio playing Dicaprio every time need not get nominated
I agree..dicaprio same performance all films.and he always in middle.so cold.same emmy adams.always do not go far in performance.
Dicaprio when he win oscar they flat him
no leo? No mark? No Fantasia? GREAT ABOUT PENELOPE CRUZ!
No Greeta and no May December ☠️☠️☠️☠️
And no Mark Ruffalo wtff
Dude Ferrari was great. 8/10 but I guess you need to appreciate the material.
I’m sorry but Annette Benning getting the nomination over Greta Lee, Fantasia, and Natalie Portman is absolutely ridiculous. Idc if it’s a more SAG friendly performance, that’s just terrible.
Portmant no role she ask pepeal in fim same qestion.fantisia big snubbed.
Greta lee strange story
All of us strangers and iron claw got snubbed
No ones really talking about Leo though
SAG is the new Golden Globes. 🤣
My Best Actress Nominee for Oscars 2024 are : Lilly Gladstone, Emma Stone, Carey Mulligan, Margot Robie, and Sandra Huller.
I’m replacing Margot with annette
A nice wild card would have been Jane Curtin for Supporting Actress in JULES.
What are the chances that May December only goes into the Oscar’s with only an Original Screenplay nomination. Because at this point, there’s no way Natalie Portman is getting into Best Actress and both Charles Melton and Julianne Moore are on shakey grounds as to getting into Supporting Actor & Actress
They have chance in bafta and oscar all...but they have chance in baftta to win bigger
again with the jacket?
Again you.😂😂😂
He feel cold
No Leo?!?!
Must snuub bradly
No dicaprio
Mark Ruffalo is a very polarizing actor. His political views are extremely left-wing. He's been very critical of Israel.
😮
love him
I’m totally bummed that Jennifer Lawerence didn’t make it for No hard feelings she was great in that movie
Jennifer lerence they give her golden globe nomnation becase they have empty chair in comedy..this not her seasion
She and that movie were horrible. One of the worst of the year.
