I'm going to try that 3rd method that seems so easy! I had some soil on a grow bags outside that hasn't had anything planted in it but was exposed to nature for a while so thanks a ton for this video!

Well I used to throw away used soil and early this year i thought about boiling water to the reused soil which I did a few months back. Now I'm trying it again but this time I decided to come and check UA-cam to see if anyone has used boiling water to clean the soil. And here I found your video. So right now I just poured a pot of boiling water and it's resting in my sink to cool. Before I transplant any plant in it I will add some fertilizer and grind eggshell. This plant will be in the house over the winter. Soil is too expensive for me to buy every year.
Thank you so much. You have such a calming voice that also gives confidence to follow your guidance. I bought new soil and lost every plant. This never happened to me before. I am excited to try this.
My old plants would always get sick somehow and I didn't know why. I hope sterilising the soil will help the new plants I want to grow! Thank you for the tips! 🪴💚
If it's fungal or a form of disease then you'd be better of throwing away that compost and starting a afresh. Otherwise, hopefully these tips will help! I have another vid where I show you how to refresh your soil too! Good luck! ❤❤

So returning and buying another isnt ideal. What do you do to readd micronutrients to your soil after sterilization? I worry I will kill all benificial nutrients.
DORMANT larvae are in those bags of soil, and to re-activate you only need moisture. I'm doing this because my potting soil contains topsoil, and this topsoil contains bacteria and fungus, which prevents my cutting from rooting. The third method seems easy; however, I don't know how effective it really is.

Yes I learnt from experience. Keep it up tho knowledge shared is never a bad thing
That’s horse 💩 this definitely works yeah it takes out some things like good bacteria but you can easily add those things right back in. This method is something you have to do anyway when you buy a bag of soil from anywhere
@@E.TGropeHome yes it works But! Killing all the microbes is Bad, the microbes eat crap an shit out what your plant likes/wants/needs. by the steam.
@@DaveSmith-cp5kj makes sense
Seems to kill other bacteria regardless. Here in Australia the biosecurity at customs uses gamma rays for anything wooden you bring in in your passenger baggage. So they're the next step above microwaves on the electromagnetic spectrum.
@@OffGridInvestor I appreciate your reply. Thanks
Your audio is very low. At times it sounds like you are whispering. Thank you for this info! Js
i use hot water to kill all small bug and there all egg only

@@nunyabiznes33 if 3% hydrogen peroxide then four teaspoon per litre if 7% then two teaspoon per litre
@@mastmolamm5604 thanks a lot! I'll try this next time I sterilize soil
@@nunyabiznes33 you can add 2 teaspoons of baking soda as well per litre
Another good antivirus spray mix one litre water one teaspoon veg oil one teaspoon non scented liquid soap and two table spoon baking SODA. MIX AND SPRAY every 12th day. Non toxic and natural
*EXPERIMENTING:*
*Ijust used clorox and water for 100 gallons(20-5gal buckets)of soil to soak 24-hours, now letting it air dry for 24-hours before covering it for 1-week to 1-month!!*
You must not use your oven much because I feel both the oven and microwave are a no no
Boiling water method kills the good microbes in your soil. Even if you cook or freeze the soil to kill bugs It Must have new amendments and micro nutes added or your plants will not like it at all and you just wasted a plant an time.
That's y after the boiling water you gotta put some microbes back into the soil as I said b4 an then give the soil around 3 weeks minimum b4 you use it. You don't have to believe go do research. Good luck growmie
@@E.TGropeHome hey, do you mind me asking how you could add those? I have worm cast, does that work?
@@Myri114 good question i was thinking the same 🤔
I suppose this is at least good enough for sprouting seeds or rooting cuttings in trays before transferring them to "normal" soil.
i got my frozen pizza stuck on there sonwwhere.. sorry.. (also yes it helped.. currently frying my soil for some reason)
Elaine Ingham would be having a complete sh*t fit.
