I just broke into the 2:17.7s this week when I was practicing with the M4. It's a real rocket. The next closest time I have is in the 992 with a 2:18.46, and I really love driving both of those cars. Hoping to join LFM here soon, and I'll probably run one of those two cars. Way to keep it together Bradley.
Would be great to have you in LFM with that speed! The M4 is a really fun car to drive. It always feels safe, and gives you the confidence to push hard. Still working on unlocking that next level with it though, but its a nice challenge.
I haven't raced at Spa in quite a while, this week just gone I raced Porsche cup at Zolder, 2 30 minute races. Not a car I'm really comfortable in but I did ok finishing 16th and 19th out of 23. Raced the Mustang on Tuesday at Suzuka finishing 8th. Friday night the Mustang again a 90 minute race at The Red Bull Ring finishing 33rd of 44, too many cars for this track. Finally Saturday night I took on Watkins Glen in the Mustang getting 7th of 13, also a 90 minute race. Busy week but I enjoy the challenge of all the different tracks. Next week a little more relaxed with GT3's Tuesday and Saturday plus a GT4 race on Friday. Great to see you racing and still enjoying the challenge of LFM.
Busy week of racing. I would actually really struggle doing so many tracks in a week, so fair play to you mate! But yea im really enjoying the challenge of LFM at the moment. I know there’s other games I should try, but LFM and ACC is keeping me motivated for sure.
@@BradleySettersMotorsportcomplete pot luck that i happen to be on YT on my phone when the notification comes through 😂 Have you considered downloading CrewChief? I’ve found it’s a great addition to the game and really adds to the immersion. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s basically a program that gives you a new race engineer (Jim) and he feeds you lots more info than the standard game one. You can even have him swear at you too, it’s quality 🤌🏼 Definitely worth even just taking a look at a YT vid to see what Jim can do for you.
I have heard of Jim haha. I watch a couple of stream that use crew chief, and I always get a laugh out of how people set it up. I'm still not fully sure if I need it right now. I have all the data in front of me and that seems to work. And I really dont like when it talks the wrong info to you which can happen from time to time. But Ill have a deeper look at some point for sure.
Great times! I suck at spa and silverstone. I cant get below 2:18s at spa and under 1:58:5 at silverstone. But hey im getting there. Ive never been one trtong to be the fastest or getting into setups. Keep in mind im usung stock aggeesive presets and can hit these times in the ferrari, porsche and lambo with the stock aggresive presets. When I was running the gtr with a setup I squeezed out some better times but in one who would rather enjoy the good feeling over a super super loose esports setup that feels more numb yet somehow more wild. I figure if I can compete in stock setups then thats pure skill haha.
Stock aggressive preset for those times is really impressive! I think there is always a point where set ups will be required to get under a certain lap time threshold. But as you said, they are a totally different feel, and therefore its a totally different driving style. Plus, the game has to be fun for you right? So if the feeling in the car now makes the game less fun, then its not worth it.
@BradleySettersMotorsport exactly! And the great thing about stock presets there are no corners cut. So you truely have to nail braking and cornering and acceleration perfectly to get those times because you aren't squeezing out as much of the car as you can with a setup. You arent adding oversteer or helping oversteer cars have a little understeer etc. I do change the bb which helps alot. But I have to say after the last update idk what happened but most cars are competative with stock setups now. You shoupd compare your times and make a video stock aggessive vs actual setups! Would be an awesome video to watch and show people the differences. May be surprising 😉
Yea that's a great idea. My first videos and races were all on stock set ups. And I don't think the pace was terrible while still learning the game. Too be honest, one of the big shocks of ACC was working out just how different the worked set ups where vs the stock ones. They don't really make a lot of real world sense and part of me struggled with that. Its nice to hear people like yourself producing good times with the stock set ups. And it would be good now to revisit that topic in so way. Thanks for the insight and suggestion.
@BradleySettersMotorsport exactly the esports setups aren't close to realistic and the way the settings work make 0 sense. It also really hurts the feeling of ffb most of the time. The stock aggeesive presets always feel better with ffb. But yeah setups can def pull that extra speed out. Just wish we could get the best of both worlds!
Liking the new livery! I was a bit surprised at the squeeze you put on the Macca , just seemed a bit out of character and to be honest I’d have been a bit miffed if I was driving the Macca…But you did give him enough room, it just seemed a bit unnecessary….Great tip about TC at Eau Rouge, will have to try that. Looking forward to watching Bathurst, personally I prefer it for driving and spectating over Spa!
Thanks for the feedback. I know it’s abit of a different move for me. If I’m honest I’m trying to adopt a slightly more firm hand to my racing. The competition is only getting tougher for me, and I let myself get bullied a little too often. In that example at Spa I just felt like he wasn’t up inside far enough to yielded all the space up Eau Rouge. If I was him, I would have backed out a 100m before that point. But on the other side, it was more of a squeeze than I felt it was at the time. So these new skills will take some time to learn, and I’ll be making the odd mistake in the process probably.
Cheers Paul. Yea the videos are great fun to make, but certainly are time and effort. I certainly enjoy how older videos continue to get viewed over a long period. So I would totally encourage you to get back to doing some videos on the channel.
great video again! I do 16s now after understanding the brake bias on the ford now ;) Sadly still on full g29 and my used hs sprints stay in my shelf as theres no rig here ;
That's a good observation. Ill have a deeper look into that. Those corners have been the hardest for me to learn. Particularly no name, its such a tough little corner to get the car turned while carrying speed.
Spa is hard to get good at - as well as to get good results. Because of the huge slipstream advantage there's always a villain ready to fight you for no reason. I had an abysmal week. At one point I was just letting dangerous drivers by to stop the SR drain, but there's always the next contestant...
Yea its a tricky combination. Lots of chances to go side by side through multiple corners. So it requires a lot of co operation from both drivers to race clean. Sorry to hear your week there didn't go so well. And its almost cruel for LFM to back that up with Bathurst as well. I think so will avoid that because of the SR drain over both weeks.
@@BradleySettersMotorsport How dare you skip that one!? I'm doing great at the mountain so far. Somehow the field is spread out more, much less fighting. Only two places to go alongside and they seem easier to manage safely
Oh no I’m not missing it. I love Bathurst! But I feel like some people will if Spa didn’t go their way. But you’re right, as long as you keep it off the walls then car contact is more manageable at Bathurst. All easier said than done though right? Haha.
Yo bradley by experience the bmw doesnt like tight lines in defending at spa, it just compromises the next corners way too much, have found way more success defending the outside line, maybe that helps.
Yea one of my favourites as well. I can see why the SR loss happens though. It really a track that you can go wheel to wheel at, but it does lead to lots of contact if your not careful. Not to mention the ease of track cuts as well. We love a challenge though haha.
I would report that mclaren for the end of the race. I finally graduated rookies last week after struggling with keep being crashed into. My sr now just grows race by race which is nice
No I think I had my part in that. Technically parking on the racing line is not the smart move. I think in general we all need to get better and driving further down the race track before stopping after a race finish. So glad to hear you are out of rookies! You must be finding the races a lot cleaner now? But that's such a good milestone, well done!
I disagree, I think the editing of this video is spot on with the right amount of cuts to TV camera. A lot of people watch these videos for the insight that cockpit camera gives and the subtle use of other cameras is good for telling the story of the race. Don't change Brad, I love your videos
Thanks for the comments guys. I guess these videos are trying to show the story of my race. I do try to mix in all the great replay viewpoints that ACC has, to show that story as best as I can. And I think people get alot out of seeing the driving from my view, including all the different telemetry etc. Its probably what separates the E sport, from the real sport in a way. Glad you are all enjoying the videos in some way though. I really appreciate it.
Good stuff! looking forward to some Pro series content soon.
Video in the works. Watkins was eventful 🤣
