    What a coincidence! I've just hit render on my video of the exact same topic, then I log into UA-cam and see your video suggested on my home page. Thankfully our techniques turned out to be slightly different.

      Wow Spoon Graphics here, I learned a lot from your channel. That's not my original technique, I learned the photoshop turing pattern technique from Andrew Werth's presentation ua-cam.com/video/VnITjQ6VQVo/v-deo.html
      and also Skybase videos

    This is so neat. Spent a while trying to figure out how these filters you apply are equivalent to the Turing diffusion model and finally realised it! Very cool!

    Very good tutorial. The 'Action' is from the previous tutorial. For Beginners and maybe higher I recommended .5 playback speed and muting music. What you can learn from this tutorial: Filter Offset, Save/Open From Library, Blending Options, Adjustment Layers, and more.

    If anyone had a problem where the pattern wasn't coming out seamless, it may be because you used the Turing Pattern from the first tutorial and didn't do the layer copying in the photoshop file that this tutorial has.

    Nice vid! How do you get the Turing Pattern to make a more geometric pattern like one of the pics you shown at the beginning and the end? it looks more rectangular. Anyone? Much appreciated!
    (Also I retried it many times step by step but for me it doesn't come out seemless?)

    If you use a power of 2 canvas size (512, 1024, 2048...) you get seamless cloud render automatically.

    • @hogarthheathan

      can you elaborate

    • @boyiscola
      @boyiscola 4 роки тому

      hogarth heathan if you use a canvas size of 1024x1024 (or any other combination of power of 2 numbers) the render clouds function produces a seamless image that can be used as a pattern on a larger canvas. Use Edit -> Define pattern to create a pattern that can be used in other documents.

    • @brunowegelius
      @brunowegelius 4 роки тому

      @@boyiscola Hmm, I can't seem to get this to work. I've created a Turing pattern on a 1024x1024 canvas and made it into a pattern, but when I apply the pattern it doesn't line up correctly. Am I misunderstanding the process?

    • @boyiscola
      @boyiscola 4 роки тому +4

      Bruno Wegelius The Turing pattern will mess up the seamlessness since the edges will react differently to the filters applied.
      To create a seamless turing pattern you need to do one more step.
      Start with a canvas of, say, 1024x1024. Render clouds on this.
      Convert background to layer (Click lock).
      Duplicate the 1024 layer into 4 layers (Ctrl + J x 3).
      With the crop tool (C), or canvas size, expand the canvas to fit a 2x2 grid of the cloud layer (2048x2048).
      Arrange the 4 cloud layers side by side as a 2x2 grid (pixel perfect).
      Crop to 2048x2048.
      Create a new layer with the 2x2 grid by copying and merging visible layers (Ctrl + Shift + Alt + E).
      Then follow the steps for Turing pattern on this new layer.
      After finishing Turing pattern, make a 1024x1024 selection anywhere (away from edges, Ctrl + Click on any of the older layer thumbnails) on the 2048 Turing layer select marquee tool (M) and crop (Image -> Crop).
      This crop should now be seamless. Test by applying offset filter (should show no edges) or define pattern and fill this pattern on a canvas larger than 1024x1024.
      (edited for clarity)

    • @nobudesign

      Coba ungroup dulu sebelum ganti warna, karena biasanya ada kaya kotak dibelakang pattern. Abis itu hapus bagian kotak tsb, atau bisa juga seleksi bagian hitamnya saja pake select similar object. Nah abis itu coba ganti warna.
      Biasanya sih kalo udh ignore white di setting tracingnya yg tersisa cuman bagian hitam aj.

    Why does the pattern become seamless? like when you rasterize and define pattern there are part that arent repeating 🤔. Is it really that simple? and are the pattern non repeating?

    • @froxical2128
      @froxical2128 4 роки тому

      is it connected to the smart object? so you can make turing pattern for all sizes of artboard?

    • @froxical2128
      @froxical2128 4 роки тому

      btw good video 👍👍👍, im just curious on that part only

    • @nobudesign
      @nobudesign  4 роки тому

      the pattern becomes seamless because I use offset filter. This filter makes each side of the object repeat, and remember I duplicate it in each corner. So when I apply the Action, it blends seamlessly.

    • @nobudesign
      @nobudesign  4 роки тому

      it doesn't look like it's repeating because I just lowered the scale to 50%. if you decrease it to 10%, you will see the pattern

    • @nobudesign
      @nobudesign  4 роки тому

      smart object and smart filter work non-destructively, you can simply drag the smart object to any document size and Photoshop will render the new pattern for you. So you don't need a seamless pattern again :D.
