I have been able to see this 3 times live, 2006 and at Aftershock festival in October, 2023 and at the winter tour in January this year. Its such an experience I get goosebumps every time.

Even though we know that none of this happened and that the guy is simply out of his mind because he took too many hallucinogens, his fear and his pain are real. The inspiration of the song is precisely this if I remember correctly: an acquaintance of theirs had a bad trip and told someone in the band about his experience. The facts were imaginary, but the pain was all real... The song was written with this in mind. By the way... Except for a few at the beginning of their career, all TOOL's songs are written with the same method: usually Danny and Justin put together some ideas and then together with Adam they prepare the song. When the track is almost ready they pass it to Maynard who puts lyrics on it. Then everyone together makes the final changes and corrections. Other than that, congrats on your new reaction channel even if you had a really shitty start because you stopped the song halfway through. This is really annoying for anyone but for us TOOL fans it practically amounts to blasphemy. In fact I went back to remove the like I had put.
