How many Tool fans clicked on this immediately?! Welcome to the rabbit hole - buckle up!! Their uniqueness has progressed over time and continues to gain fans. The earlier stuff (90s) is a bit more ‘rocki-ish’ - but as they have evolved, their music claims it’s own genre. It is very complex and really focuses on each talent in one way or another while bringing a cohesiveness to their art. MJK has said it is a daunting (paraphrasing) task but proves to be quite successful. All 4 of them are masters at their instruments. Maynard is one of the most consistent and talented singers that has blessed us with multiple decades of art.
Now, if you go to see them live, MJK stays in the back - that can be disappointing if you are expecting to SEE him perform (as you do in APC or Pucifer). The concerts are much more of an experience and if you are in the right state of mind (um, say consuming something given to us by mother earth in the form of a fungus….) that ride is profound and exceptionally gratifying.
Keep going down the Tool rabbit hole and the Tool Army will follow. We love nothing more than seeing someone react to Tool for the first time. The Pot is Tool's most "radio-friendly" song they have, so it is normally the safest first song to hear by Tool. Spiral out and keep going!
Way to build a channel and blow your mind
Will do🤝🏽
@@NatReacts_Can you please react to A Perfect Circle-3 Libras?
If you want to see something that focuses on the drummer look up "Danny Carey- Pneuma drum cam" Mind melting performance.
If you want something that shows the lead singer's amazing stage presence look up "Tool-Sober 1993"
Tool is so unique. Each member of the band is a master of their craft. They will spend years, a decade, jam sessioning. And when they get all the kinks worked out, they send the music over to the singer/writer, who creates such deep lyrical masterpieces. Definitely one of the best bands in the world.
🔥
The Grudge!!! Vicarious a MUST!!!!!!!
Vicariously I....
Watch as the whole world dies...
Much better you than I 🤘🏽😎
If you play it, the Tool Army will come. Welcome in, it's a fun rabbit hole. I would suggest "The Grudge" as your next Tool song.
Thank you and I’ll definitely check it out!
Here for TOOL 🔧 Greatest band ever. Not a single bad song.
100% agree
I 100% disagree.
@@scottstaples953 well you are in the minority. Good luck to you.
@@LanceThompsonKssooner that's because I don't worship them as gods. They're fallible.
@scottstaples953 Good for you! A free thinker like me. You just have bad taste in music...but that's OK. 👍
I think Tool's uniqueness is their sound is like nothing else! ❤ They compose their tracks differently to mesh the instruments and vocals, often with a polyrhythmic sound. Some of their tracks are more of a psychedelic experience than "songs" IMO. If you continue down the Tool rabbit hole, you'll understand what I mean 💯
Welcome to your new favorite Band
OMG! I just requested this so I'm super excited for this!
And I just finished watching and you didn't disappoint. Maynard has such a distinctive voice and I love that you picked up on that. Add Schism, Lateralus, and Sober to your Tool rabbit hole reactions list.
Thank you man🤝🏽
Sober! Definitely the live version. You will never be the same.
You're going to love the live drum cam of Tool's drummer performing their song Pnuema. Danny Carey is called the Octopus and is considered by many to be best living drummer. I have never heard a bad Tool song let alone album. My other favorite bands like Pink Floyd and Type O Negative have songs and even ablums I don't like, but Tool is all gold.
Man, tool is just different, they don't settle in any genre completely, but it's all quality. The lead, Maynard, also has another project called A Perfect Circle that is equally talented.
Cant forget Puscifer, Maynards third project
I just saw APC, Puscifer, and Primus for Maynards 60th bday celebration... literally a life changing experience
Tool is definitely one of the greats and the fact the singer has anxiety problems and sings like this despite hiding behind the drummer and occasionally straddling a rowdy fan is amazing
He doesn't have anxiety problems... Quit spreading this dumb info... You obviously have never seen puscifer live
@Soljarag5 Maynard has dark spots on the stage to help him deal with the glare and alleviate his anxiety in the emotions he conveys while performing. That's a well known fact. You're just a moron
@@davidward9737 I've never seen any substantial evidence to back it up other than people in comments sections repeating it as if it's fact
Anxiety problems? Lol. What. He sings at the front often for his other projects, APC and Puscifer.
@@Echo__plex you obviously don't know Maynard. Google it.
Tool army, do your thang. Also I feel "H." hasn't been given as much love as it deserves on here!
When he stopped on the NOWWW I groaned 🤣
Seen a few of your reactions the past couple weeks to Rock songs. Now that Tool is on the channel, I'm gonna drop a sub and stuck around for a bit.
Thank you💪🏽
I almost recommended Tool but I kinda had faith you'd get blasted with requests for them haha. They're so good
😭💯
Yes falling in reverse!
Welcome to the Tool Army my man. Tool is arguably the most important rock and roll band still doing it. Danny Carey is arguably the greatest drummer alive, so if that’s your thing you’re in for one hell of a ride. I would strongly recommend watching the Danny Carey drum cam for the song Pneuma. You can rock the studio version, but you MUST do the drum cam. Great reaction man.
Thank you and I’ll check it out for sure!
60 years old and still rocks the hardest!! AMAZING ❤❤❤
Tool Army reporting in, spiral off!
🤝🏽
Tool Army Unite!
i can not wait until you hear more! I’ve been listening to tool since “93. I was 13 & i’m 44 now. They are still my fav band. I’m here for the tool rabbit hole!
❤🌀
💪🏽‼️
Tool is its own genre, honestly.
"6 minutes is a long time."
Oh child. Welcome to Tool.
Falling in reverse- popular monster!!!
You won’t be disappointed You’re welcome…
I just posted this...start with 'popular monster' and roll that falling in reverse rabbit hole
Welcome to the tool family brah. Vicarious, sober, 4 degrees, pneuma, invincible, descending, 7empest, Jambi, eulogy, stinkfist, 46&2,
These songs plus much more will change your music game for the better.
Tool is def a genre of their own and anyone who gives their tracks a chance will be melodically blessed! ✌️
If you are doing the Tool rabbit hole you have to do Pneuma live drum cam of Danny Carey. You will love it!
Bet!
TOOL IS FOREVER!
Tool Army welcomes you! Spiral out! Keep going!🌀🌀
The Grudge is an epic song...do it!
Tool is the best most satisfying rabbit hole to dive into. So much incredible music.
You've gotta check out the Pneuma drum cam, and beyond that I would recommend Right in Two, Eulogy, Jambi...well, anything really. Skip their official videos and just pull up lyrics. Have fun!
Thank you and I will for sure💪🏽
Even though they’re not my favorite band, they were hands down the best concert I’ve ever been to (& I’ve been to a lot of concerts).
bass & guitar on fire!!!!
Tool are MASTERS OF THIER CRAFT
That was great man. Love watching Tool take people on a ride.
Great reaction. I have heard this song countless times and I still get goosebumps listening to this song and others from tool.
Please please please do more!!! Stinkfist is my favorite, I'd love to see it!!
Tool is my favorite band of all time. I vote Lateralus next but anything you do will be amazing 🖤 Like with Rage, you should do the lyrics.
welcome to the rabbit hole. Tool has been my favorite band since I was 17 in 2001.
Maynard *is* kinda buttery on this track. Check out “The Grudge” if you want the impressive scream. Plus, Danny said that’s the hardest song to play in his elder years
Side note: pay attention to Maynard’s bars. His rhythm on top of the instruments and the cadence he chooses for each syllable/word. He changes his approach EVERY song- along with the rest of the band
Welcome to the Tool box!🤟🏼
Yes! Awesome! Love it!
Love your open mind for new music! I've watched several videos now and I appreciate your spirit of adventure...
Thank you🤝🏽
Here for TOOL always! They are super intelligent and will take you on a journey. They have changed my life. I hope you continue down this rabbit hole.
I definitely will!
Been waiting for this journey to begin!! Always here for it!! Spiral out my friend!
Thank you!
Here for it. Great reaction.
Thank you!
Might go down the Tool rabbit hole huh? It's worth the trip, u will not regret it. Ur gonna get sooooo many recommendations on what song to do next. Imo it doesn't matter. My favorite Tool song? The last one I listened to. Love all of it. Have fun riding the spiral dude.
Tool =The Goat....❤😊
Checking in 🌀
Adam Jones can make his guitar do amazing things. And Justin Chancellor makes his bass talk. Danny Carey is the Octopus. Maynard is a phenomenon. Welcome to the Tool Army🤘
Welcome 🙏🏻 vicariously living through you first experiences of Tool’s music.
Thank you!
This was incredible to watch. Hope you fun on your journey with Tool. ❤
Thank you!
thank you!!!
Welcome to the Tool ride! Nothing like spiraling with Tool 🌀🔥
🤝🏽
I hear the Tool Army approaching. Keep going! 🌀🌀🌀
🤝🏽
Welcome to the Tool army! Spiral out🌀
Respect for giving an honest reaction and not just hyping up every moment of the song because you know people like it.
🤝🏽
If you like drums, you just hit the jackpot😂. Danny is one of the best and possibly best alive currently. Each song is an experience each of its own. Enjoy!
🔥🔥
Next Tool should be “Sober”, with the official music video. Make sure you turn on the caption so you can really take in the lyrics.
Love Tool❤
No video equals pure actual reaction. Nice one bro.
For sure!
I commented because I was excited. But you really do have a phenomenal ear.
Thank you!
This is the one time that The Pot was a gateway drug - you hear it and you want more Tool.
If you dig long held out notes/screams, you'll love The Grudge!!
I don’t know if anyone has suggested Jinjer yet, but they are a MUST. They’re up there with Tool for me, but I’ve been listening to Tool for like 25 years. Jinjer is incredible though. Definitely check out Pisces live session!
Tool is a mood
Enjoy this rabbit hole. I've been head banging to tool for 3 decades. 😂 Never gets old.
Cool reaction! :) Yeah song goes really hard my cousin got me into tool a little while ago! :) have a good day yallsssssss
This is one rabbit hole you cannot avoid jumping into.
With Tool it's usually best not to watch the video for a first time reaction. They can get rather distracting. Welcome to the army. We've been waiting on you
Thank you, this is going to be a fun ride!
Dude! My like is on number 666
YYEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!
....umm yeah, great reaction, you're cool man.
Yes.
Big fan of this whole album and been really enjoying your reactions so far.
If you like nu-metal specifically, a band i don't seem to see mentioned as much these days but I was a big fan of at the time are the band "Spineshank", particularly the song New Disease.
Love to see folks hear them for the first time…if drums is your thing, Danny Carey is on another level.
🌀 …we have been summoned… 🌀
Spiral out… KEEP GOING!
‼️
FINALLY!!!
Buckle up. This rabbit hole is worth it
The bass! Common!
Haha... The Pot is a great intro to Tool. Since you've already kicked it with Tool, you should really enjoy this. - starting the reaction now: - Cheers.
Thank you!
Good job keeping the tempo!
Reactions you MUST do in this rock/metal/nu metal Journey:
1.-Papercut by Linkin Park
2.-Here to Stay by Kork
3.-Nookie by Limp Bizkit
4.-Hypnotize by System of a down
5.-Psychosocial by Slipknot
6.-The Pretender by Foo Fighters
7.-One by Metallica
Please please!
Will do!
Sober and Vicarious next please sir
Get ready for the journey that TOOL is going to take you on.
Spiral out. Keep going.
TOOL... Maynard James Keenan- Vocals, Danny Carrey- drums/percussion, Justin Chancelor-Bass
Jambi next!!!!
Think you will find Tool to be its own genre. Most people's favorite song is the one they heard last. Hope you find your way through their catalog. Tool army will find you soon enough.
I think they're most commonly grouped into "Progressive Metal," which I suppose is close enough.
They went somewhere with it. lol
You'll get plenty more Tool recommendations and you should check em out, cause the band is awesome. But I noticed you started appreciating the voices of the singers, so I say you gotta check out the rest of the signature voices from that era. Listen to some Soundgarden (Black Hole Sun, Burden In My Hand, Spoonman, Fell on Black Days) to hear Chris Cornell who may have the best voice in the history of rock, then watch the MTV live performance of Black by Pearl Jam with Eddie Vedder to see one of the best, most emotional live performances ever caught on camera. Then check out Hunger Strike by Temple of the Dog which is a supergroup with both of them in it.
Really amazing voices. Nothing like Tool except that they're filled with passion and have amazing lyrics but they are all talented, incredible singers with totally unique voices.
Thank you!
If you want another excellent rabbit hole to go down, check out the band "Falling in reverse". They are considered metal core, though the lead singer Ronnie Radke is unlike any other singer you've ever heard. Being a fan of rap, you will really love it man. While they have a bunch of amazing songs and incredible theater like videos, start with their song and video "popular monster". They have been around for about 10 years but their releases over.the past couple of years are incredible. Also, Ronnie apprecates many reactors. He will alway remove any blocked videos
Thank you!
Hop over the ocean and hit up the true masters of Metal. The Scandinavians!!
Beast in Black - Blind and Frozen; One Night in Tokyo
Nightwish - Ghost Love Score; Ever Dream
Kamelot - Sacrimony; Liar Liar
look up The Perfect CIrcle - Judith - same singer... great song. Should read lyrics and look up the meaning - these older songs have very deep meaning and what they were going thru at that time.
welcome to the rabbit hole! a few suggestions vicarious pnuema drum cam lateralus jambi descending tempest invincible the grudge pushit 46 and 2 stinkfist aenima
Way to easy for my guy here. Nothing like the "Ænima" journey. We're talking weather!
😮 like Tool there a good band
Hey! Tool writes longer songs, usually, and that wards some people off. I think what matters is how long a song feels, rather than the clock duration. Music should never be boring, and if a band can ROCK YOUR FUCKING SOCKS OFF for 6, 7, 8+ minutes straight... It's just as worth any 3 or 4 minute banger.
Bangers are bangers, don't discriminate; open the mind and try it out 🎉
But if u don't dig it, u don't dig it. We all have our own tastes.
But ya Tool is GOAT.
Pneuma is another great one
I love me some bands now...but Tool hold that one and only spot
And thanks once again!!!
Although I'm certainly not an expert on Tool, I've only heard a handful of songs by them, it seems to me this one is more representational of what the band puts out than the suggestion I made, which was 46&2. The Pot seems to play around with different musical themes while 46&2 is probably more of a mainstream, mostly single melody, song. This brings into play some of the more traditional elements of rock and its gospel influence where you have the build up followed by an ecstatic come-to-Jesus moment when you're just launched into the heavens. This "pop" aspect (gasp!) might come into conflict with some of the opinions you'll hear from the purist, hardcore Tool fans, who love all the unexpected elements, but it certainly hits all the right buttons for me. And most of all, it slams like no other Tool song I know of--and has to be one of the greatest bangers of all time. One other thing, should you decide to put 46&2 in your back pocket, the lyrics and the psychological theories that inspired them are really fascinating, which leads me to suggest you read up on what they are referring to before you listen to it or else you'll be stopping and starting the song endlessly trying to figure something out that you might not ever be able to get without a little background.
It's probably best that you did listen to The Pot first in that it seems to be more representational of the band; but when you hear 46&2, I think you'll get what I'm talking about.
Thank you🤝🏽
Danny Carey is one of the greatest percussionists to ever exist.
🤘🏻🌀
