- I abseil into a local ledge, catch a few small Southern Bluefin Tuna on stickbaits and a few Swallowtail(Centroberyx lineatus) on soft plastics. Then cook the swallowtail on a fire at a nearby beach.

I loved rock climbing when I did it, gym almost every day and outdoors on the weekends for years. I now love fishing, the feeling of the fish hitting, the feeling of hooking up and having a chance to land something. Magical anticipation. You combine both. I !@#!!!!! You sound a bit like me. I use to climb all the time, now I love the fishing too, good fun to combine them and still get out and climb every now and then

Gido, you're awesome mate,and let's face it ,there are plenty of fishing shows and countless presenters trying to show the joy of fishing but mate,you are the only one out of them all who can absail or rock climb down a 200 ft rock face and then go to work.Every place you go is fascinating to see and I was thinking the other day while watching your show many if not most times no human has ever set foot on some of this ledges except may be in the last ice age!Thankyou for the informative narration and display of climbing back up on the way home and the joy and fun I get from your terrific work,best regards Dave.
This ledge may have had a few climbers set foot on it. But other more remote ones probably not 👍🏼

Squeaky sand! Yep, we experienced it many times in Australia. Although we lived in Sydney for 4 years, I think my favorite part of the country is the WA! The Kimberley, quokkas on Rottnest, Freo, Cable Beach at Broome. I just wish I had visited your beautiful area as well!

Have you ever tried using yellow mustard on your fish before you bread them for frying? It really tastes great to me. I know not all tastes are the same, but as much fish as you eat, I thought you might like to try something a bit different now and then. The next time you are frying up some fish at home, take a small piece and give it a try. Just lightly coat it with the mustard, enough to help the bread crumbs stick, then cook it just like you normally do. If the fish has a strong fishy taste the mustard really helps!
BTW, love your vids mate. Sometimes I have a bit of trouble with the accents you folks have, but it really doesn't detract from the experience at all. I'm a 64 year old yank, retired a bit early for health reasons. If not for that, I would probably have moved to Oz by now. You folks have a wonderful country there, as I am sure you know. Oh yea, please tell me how to pronounce Gido. ;) Bryan out.

Hey my man! You do what I would've if I had stayed in Australia. I was there as a kid. Checky too. I'm back in the States now, but I'm sure looking for an adventure. Check out Taroona High 1990, in/near Hobart, Tasmania. I was there. I had the best, and most professional rock climbing/cavers in the country. Sad day happened. We lost our Phy Ed teacher as she jumped in to save the two girls who got swept off from the human chain they made. We also lost two beautiful young girls with so much more life to live.

I'm in America now, but I recently came across your videos. I'd like to gather some people up and do a tribute to the kids we lost that day, and a tribute to the men who had me and my friends there one week before, but more so...for the family of our P.E. teacher and the two girls family's. It was in Mystery Cave/Creek.
Fyi...I'm an avid fisherman. I've guided at times, but stopped to make more money. I'm about to start guiding again. My brother and I won the first fishing tournament we ever entered. It was in Hobart, Australia...lol
If you want more info to verify....after we moved from Melbourne, Victoria...we moved to Hobart, Tasmania. Our first place was a flat near the town for two weeks. The landowners put us up in in small house right off 7 mile beach until our house was ready. We then moved to Acton. My older brother and I went to Rokeby high for a while. My older brother became a "prefect" for the high school.
I'm no bullshit. I say what I say. Talk to me if you'd like. Fyi...if we ever fish together...I'll tell you about my first time playing Aussie Rules Football. I was in my first game ever, and I was in the sixth grade primary school. Coach put me in three days after I came to Australia. Fat kid and skinny kid sitting on the bench. Story is real, and never ending...
