Only true musicians can relate to these movies even if they are a bit cheesy, take what you will! Bottom line is a great story and great American rock!
Totally, the only thing that is missing is usually there are competing visions for the band. You don't typically have one dominating personality. That's why sometimes its a pain to play with others at times. But I guess since its Eddie they all fall in line. lol
As a kid I had bought the soundtrack for Eddie & The Cruisers II: Eddie Lives! several years before I got to see the movie. I listened to those songs over and over and over again. When I finally saw the movie I knew all the words to all of the songs by heart and sang along with Eddie Wilson/Joe West. The last few years, whenever I see an image of Mariah Carey, "Maryia" pops into my head. I start singing the chorus and verse 2. But strangely it's all I remembered. Strange because, once I got on UA-cam and played this video, my memory opened up and ALL the words were there and I again sang along with Eddie. Isn't it weird how the mind plays tricks on us sometimes? 🤪

Not a true movie. The real band is called John Cafferty and the bever brown band. But it is really good music. You can feel it in his voice and in your heart.
I own both of these wonderful movies on DVD and I own the soundtracks to both movies on CDs. Great music! And in the second movie, I love the story when he tells his girlfriend how wonderful New Jersey is, and at the end of his description, she says to him, "then why does the Statue of Liberty face the other way"? A classic line!
@Evelyn Pyle lol You sound like my mother. Only she doesn't like the first movie that much. I've always preferred the first movie, because it laid the foundation of Eddie [and Frankie]'s story. There would be no sequel without it. That said, I do enjoy Eddie Lives!, and there are certain scenes I extremely love. My only wish was Frankie were in the movie, and it was still Frankie's story, just like in the book too. Of course I know WHY Frankie isn't in the movie.
