- A little extract of great russian conductor Semyon Bychkov and the BBC Symphony, playing the powerful Dies Irae from Verdi's Requiem.
(C) BBC and all their respective owners, there's no own work from me here.
i like the way the Verdi Dies Ire kicks in like with this full blown, like "no time to fuck around guys, world is gonna end NOW!"
+Andrea Roll OH WHAT A DAY!!
+Andrea Roll best comment ever
+Andrea Roll oh my god that is so hilariously true!
+Andrea Roll WITNESSS MEEEEEEE
😂😂😂😂
I like how they built a small cage around the conductor, as if to prevent him from breaking out of his earthly vessel and wreaking biblical havoc among the world of humankind
Best comment ever!
The goosebumps are so intense I look like a toilet brush.
Ahahahahhahahhah oh my god you've pierced a hole in my lung from laughter
same holy hell
You have won the internet, my friend. That comment is glorious.
Michael Rudd
Thank you XD
1:07 the world is ending, and this guys just wants a drink of water
well spotted, you're so right! I would have fired him!
John Phillips I was laughing three minutes when I’ve read your comment
Can´t stop laughing!
The guy's Joseph Calleja and he just waiting for his Ingemisco.
1:00
That awkward moment when everyone singing about the end of the world but you have nothing to do so you take a sip of water.
The maestro is actually picturing himself in a middle age battlefield while conducting....
Mozart’s version sounds like a prophecy.
Verdi’s version sounds like the world is actually ending.
The biggest reason for that is probably because Verdi had more instrumental advancements to work with.
When I hear this, I imagine the sky is opening up and God's wrath is descending upon mankind. This is the definitive version, in my humble opinion.
*OH WHAT A SONG, WHAT A LOVELY SONG*
YES
someone is not getting the reference :)
+jackoghost They're clearly not awaited
James Butler no they shall not ride eternal, shiny and chrome
could u explain it to me plz :O ?
i am very simple when it comes to music... i don't care which genre it is as long as it's powerful. And this is the definition of powerful.
I can't even imagine how awesome it'd be actually listen it live...
Pause at 0:12
If the conductor doesn't look like this while he's leading the symphony orchestra, he ain't conducting right.
Powerful performance and an amazing conductor.
The whole orchestra : are we a joke to you
What a day! WHAT A LOVELY DAY!
If they were doing a Norse theme, they should've used Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" instead of Verdi's Requiem, Dies Irae.
My entire body is just one giant goosebump.
You ought to see a doctor about that.
I can't even imagine how it would feel to sit in the first row and to receive that wave of pure power from the choir and the instruments
This is the most heavy metal piece of classical music ever.
Guess "O Fortuna" would also qualify
Easiest part: Bass drum.
Best part: Bass drum.
But can you imagine if you got it SLIGHTLY wrong? ARGH!
*"I AM THE SCALES OF JUSTICE; CONDUCTOR OF THE CHOIR OF DEATH! SING, BROTHER HECKLER! SING, BROTHER KOCH! SING, BROTHERS, SING! **_SIIIIIIIIIIING!!"_*
I don't understand plz explain
@@aadviksagreiya4230 Reference to Mad Max: Fury Road.
Watched Carolina Crown at DCI Houston yesterday, and when I heard this in Inferno I almost cried. Amazing.
Oh my god YES! They better win this year, I'm so pumped to go to finals.
Nadia Garcia HAHAHA Yeah!!!! DCI brought me to this video XD
Can i just say this is probably one of my favorite Pieces of music?? Even if it is about the end of the world..
No you can't :)
DJ Becky J It's the track for the final boss battle in Fatal Fury
DJ Becky J I hope this song plays when the Martians Invade and vaporize us all. Its simply that Epic!
Ummm ok
WorldChanger914 ESPECIALLY if it's about the end of the world!
I love the way the director is conducting, what a feeling
So, after watching several different videos of various conductors, I have come to the conclusion that the majority seem to be Batman-villain levels of insane.
What a lovely day!
perfect song for the apocalypse. whether it happens to the world, or you bring the apocalypse.
I love how the sound is about the end of the world and it feels like world ending too. Amazing.
This is the most phenomenal performance and recording of this I've heard. Such a powerful piece!
It's a piece in which the composer was clever enough to bring out the density of the chord structure. This work is very intense dynamically and couldn't have been pulled off any better. Unless you are Carolina Crown. XD To anyone who watches DCI!
Jeez, the lyrics make it even scarier...
Yep... Pretty much mankind getting judged...
Wow, I love the power coming from this song. How fabulous! I'm new to classical music, but I must say that I already love it and this is by far one or my favorite. :)
If you want a powerful song, check out "Mars, the Bringer of War," composed by Gustav Holst.
Sleeper99999 I listened and loved it too my friend. Thank you! :)
I am utterly speechless. This is the work of God.
I barely held back my tears when it came to the trumpet.. Epic.. I almost saw the described scene with my eyes. This gets me every single time.
Spec Ops The Line:
Lugo: "Ha! I love this song!"
Walker: "SHUT THE F**K UP AND KEEP RUNNING!"
a great piece of music thank you verdi
Does anyone else think that the conductor looks a bit like Einstein and Mr. Bean mixed together?
WHAT A LOVELY, LOVELY DAY!
Just want to grab a flame throwing double guitar and join in!
I AM THE SCALES OF JUSTICE CONDUCTOR OF THE CHOIR OF DEATH!!!! SING BROTHER HECKLER!!!! SING BROTHER KOCH!!!! SING BROTHERS!! SING!! SING!!!! SIIIIIING!!!!!!

This piece really knows how to tell a story
Oh, what a song! What a lovely song!
so beautifull, I guess there still are people who know how to enjoy classical music.
adreanalina allo stato puro! sembra quasi di sentire il soffio dell'Altissimo dell'Eterno
0:29 damn, that's powerful
Me quedo extasiada cada vez que escucho esta parte, no tengo palabras para describir lo inmensa que me parece esta obra.
Holy crap has anyone ever seen such a big choir? Omg..
When even the cameraman was shocked xD 4:07
This is the soundtrack of all out thermonuclear war.
Wow...!
It took my breath away
This is huge, it get me right in the heart, it give thrill !
The beat way to describe this piece is like this:
There is a jar of emotion covered with a lid.
But the emotion is starting to get more heated and riled up... but the lid is fighting back.
Things get boiling hot and it overflows, and the lid shoots off! And then it cools down, and ultimately comes to a quiet stop of peace...
Me gusta lo intenso que es el director de orquesta.
Estoy segura que dentro de 10 años así serán mis sobrinos!!!
Beautiful! Awesome! Amazing!
SPEED X2 SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIC!!!!!!!!!!
+Gaeos most epic is watching the conductor on this speed :-P

So, here I was playing Armored Warfare, using my Challenger 1 tank. As I crest a hill and charge right into the enemy team's exposed flank, this comes on ^^ How perfect ^^

I believe this is the reason why the word 'epic' was born

BadTanLines yeah, the country is finally about to tear itself apart after 250 years cause a game show host decided to run for president and do racist things.
Wow, what a performance! I would have loved to have been there,
Omg! How Magnificent song is it! Isn't it guys?
"song"
the most underrated pièce of Giuseppe Verdi
Bravo! Awesome! I'm crushed like a bug...
My favorite is the water-bottle player seen at 1:04 ...
Tremological its a subtle instrument. Hard to catch
this song gives me the tingles
Love the conductor
Who else else is here because of the mad Max fury Road trailer and a Kirby deluxe commercial?
this make me cry all the time.
(Y).
A piece of art
I love this song!
Actually yes, the part was originally scored for an Ophicleide, but the instrument he's using is actually called a Cimbasso, it plays in the same range as a tuba/contrabass trombone with a much much brassier tone. Apparently many orchestras nowadays replace Ophicleide parts with a Cimbasso now.
*Oh,

So glad they went back to good old fashioned symphony for mad max trailer instead of any cheap dubstep track we can hear in trailers nowadays! What a lovely day!
I never watched any of the trailers for the Mad Max: Fury Road movie before going to see it, so I didn't know the Verdi Dies Irae was actually in the movie but I kept swearing that I was hearing it incorporated into the soundtrack and I was so angry, thinking that the composer for Mad Max had literally just ripped off Verdi. But then, in the middle of the movie when all of a sudden the chorus comes in full force in all it's bad-ass glory, I realized that it was completely intentional. It was one of the most amazing moments in a movie film score I'd ever heard.
You're enraptured by the beauty of the music... then you see the conductor's derpy face.
I would do anything to see that live...
Questo è il direttore migliore del mondo ha saputo fare un requiem coi fiocchi
"Do not underestimate humans, Meruem."
The conductor ain't fucking around. It's like he's expecting judgement day to come crashing down any second
The world belongs to the Mad! Sing, brothers! And witness me as I am carried in the gates of Valhalla!!
+Comedy Cove Sing, Brother Heckler! Sing, Brother Koch! Sing, Father Browning!
1:07 Just an ordinary day trying to drink a Water bottle with that kind of music. epic.
