The style of singing/music in the pre-teaser, known as dhadi vaar, is used to narrate stories. often of martyrs and battles, but also of folk heroes/love/moral stories. This song narrates the story of Arjan the Velly (velly has many meanings, someone of a thug-like nature or who indulges in vices etc.), who cut down his enemies with his gandasi (axe). This Arjun/Arjan sung about in the song, may or may not be Ranbir’s character in the film. The experience of the pre-teaser is vastly different for those with this context. But i’m happy it/the discourse gives people an insight into real punjabi culture as opposed to the usual butchering of punjabi culture seen in bollywood. Seems a telugu director has put more effort into portraying true Punjabi culture than the so-called punjabis of bombay.
Also, from what it looks like, Ranbir is wearing the traditional punjabi 'chadra' instead of a dhoti. So, clear Vanga has done his homework.
@@manmohanrajpal4418 spot on, it definitely os a kurta chadra. vanga has definitely put in the effort to show elements of real punjabi culture. Even the song, the story of arjan velly is legimate folklore from the malwa region of Punjab. You’ll hear mention of it in the classic punjabi song Putt Jattan de sung by surinder shinda. If I remember correctly arjan was from kaunke, a village near Jagroan in Punjab. Maybe it ties into the story of animal Or merely acts as a metaphor for Ranbir’s character. I just hope this authentic portrayal of punjabi culture continues throughout the film.

BASIC PLOT-
I would pretty much say this is GODFATHER (Indian version)...Ranbir looks a young innocent nothing to do with family business kinda guy but might be Anil Kapoor (his father) dies coz of Gangster war...& then he's the only son to defend his father's legacy!
I have not seen Kabir Singh but I want Sandeep to win. His interviews are honest, it’s true what he spoke about the biased North Indian media. We need more brave film makers like him, not adjusting to the media pressure put towards him and going against them heads on.
No, Raunaq , the Punjabi song fits perfectly. It's a folk War Song which was sung in the battlefield to get the soldiers' blood pumping and heart thumping while charging at the enemy. The Punjabi men are not henchmen but are shown as Ranbir's cheerleaders in the teaser according to my interpretations. And the teaser is more metaphorical than literal about the story. Also, from the leaked images, I got the feeling that Ranbir will be the out of place timid son in a successful family and will later rise to his Animal Avatar. (Might even turnout to be a Godfather story!)
It's great that the song works for you because you have context. For me, it purely works because of this strange energy it brings combined with the sounds of the bodies getting chopped...but at the same time, it doesn't work for everyone n it doesn't have to right? Matter of taste

That interview with Anupama Chopra will always be an iconic moment when it comes to film interviews. And it was the primary reason why I am excited for Animal. The idea of a Bollywood film being more violent than Gangs of Wasseypur, made by an even more unhinged director excites me. I know Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy have their critics especially among women, but there is nothing in those movies which we haven't seen already in other commercial movies where problematic behaviour is passed of as comedy. So the idea that Kabir Singh some how "broke the system" is laugh able to me

The director Sandeep told Rajamouli in an interview that Animal will be a character driven movie. So, it will obviously get mixed reactions and hence it neither sets fire nor gets itself on fire. Some like it, some won't.

I am super hyped for this movie since it was announced in 2021. This movie is what Ranbir needs at this point in his career. It will definitely re-invent his image. I don’t personally think it will be a blockbuster ( however I hope it is) but it will definitely be one of those memorable movies from Ranbir. So glad he teamed up with Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
After watching Kabir Singh, I was really keen to see what this director is gonna make next. And so far Animal has only got me excited. Eagerly waiting for the trailer
The lines about the film suits all Sandeep's movies i guess .. this man may give hits may give flops but he will leave an impression in industry. He may be another RGV who is going to rule Bollywood for a brief period .
Hope we never have anyone else go down the RGV route
The problem with most of the Mumbai based movie directors / producers & their team is; they are obsessed with western cinema, and always considered Hindi Mass Movies as cringe. They can't just copy few mass elements and make a engaging Mass movie. One needs to have the conviction within them, to create such movies; sooner the bombay-wallas realise, its good for them.
That's the right word: CONVICTION.
And when one makes Pathaan which combines western theme and Indian mass feelings "elite" people start nitpicking & accuse of copying even though the story is based on a regular spy film template like MI. But nevertheless masses clearly enjoyed it

that analogy is meh!! in my opinion this fight scene has nothing to do with critics and i think this scene is definitely a cut from movie and you'll realise that he's so genuine about his craft and storytelling i don't think he'll twist his scenes for these small small critics. he's just setting the mood with violent fight scene while playing the punjabi folk war song for the upcoming teaser that's all.

Kabir Singh is one of the most misunderstood movie ever. Its such a feel good movie. Irony is that people who trash that film for being toxic will literally bully you for liking it 😂
