I would be more interested if it had some theft protection. It costs an extra $400 to even add doors to it & another $350 for a cover. That's $750 right there & that's just accessories. This costs over $5,000 already just for the standard package. It's a nice idea, but it's awfully expensive.
+Jonathan Haldeman maybe someone could give him a discount? I would love to get an ELF for a special price too, and I can work for it! ;-)
+Jonathan Haldeman lol yeah i saw this guy commenting all ELF video also
bahrta - You don't need doors but 2 door styles are available. There is a small golf cart storage cover that fits this, I got mine for $38 from Amazon. The ELF demand by buyers ready to pay the now $8.5K base price exceeds the supply. This has a removable key for the motor and of course any security measure used on bikes works on this.
You are 2 yrs old. This cost almost $9,000 - base now.
Vinyl doors are $200.
Do you need a DL for this ?
This model is not legal for any civilians. But no, e-bikes require no license or insurance.
@@popeyegordon - I wish i could drive in it ere in the USA
@@AnimeAndrew1983 You can, just not the police model with the extra speed and power. There are 1000 ELFs with a 750 watt motor and a 20 mph limit. Used ones start at $3000. I got rid of my car 6 years ago and rely on my ELF for all transportation.
@@popeyegordon - oh yea that cool
That was the tactical police version with a more powerful motor. Can not be legally driven on streets by civilians.
where in the uk can I get one
Nowhere. Your UK laws are far too strict regarding maximum motor power. There are two UK companies now making this class of vehicle but they are woefully under powered due to draconian laws.
Can this be driven on the streets you’re telling us yes but some of the comments say no I would like to know does it come with a door
The ELF was specifically designed to conform to US ebike laws. It is legal wherever an ebike is legal. You do not want a door on this small space where you exercise, the windows will fog.
