  • Does global warming threaten coral reefs? To the contrary, data show that corals are thriving in modestly warmer waters, and even are expanding their range.

The great barrier reef is at its greatest extent ever.
Coral scares in Australia began in the 1980s, and they happen about once every 4-5 years when 'researchers' are running low on grant funds.

In the 80s they were just starting to collect data and thought that things like crown of thorn starfish were introduced species from merchant ship ballast tanks. Now they know CoTSF are natural and their numbers fluctuate , they better understand the flow of sediment and the effects of freshwater from cyclones. The scientists who are old and use data know the reef is fine, the ones that are sponsored by the I P C C and often have never dived there are the ones spreading the bad rumors. Climatology seems to be the only branch of science where you make more money by not using substantiated data.

Professor Peter Ridd had recently posted a video 2 days ago explaining the difference types or species of coral that become affected more than other coral, such as the Acropora that is affected by tropical cyclones and bleaching. But in10 years or less, the Acropora coral reestablishes itself in numbers.

The year after the fire it is the greenest spot in the whole pasture because all the dead grass is gone. New growth happens the same year, or after the winter is over, depending on when the fire happened.

Ok, pay attention now. This is important: i have checked with the Australian Institute of Marine Biology. One the one hand they have stated that the great barrier reef has recovered from earlier blows but on the other hand they say there is a danger from too many blows in short time succession and that the kind of coral recovery is rather one sided ie, it has an impact on the bio diversity of the reef. So, not the extend in quantity is important but the quality. They also do not claim the reef is dying which is what the media say. And then there are articles on the website about the dangers of climate change. Conclusion, how is the average person to know what is real? Do i take Reed's side and trust him so i then do not trust the institute? Hard to know. Like w almost everything, the positivos do not see the bad side or claim it is not important. The negativos always point to where things go wrong and project more bad stuff happening in the future. All this in context of a conversation w a biologist friend of mine who is clearly on the doom side who pulled out example after example of 'evidence'. I dont know where the truth lies anymore, HELP!

Maybe try looking at ice and rock core sample data that shows the Earth has positively flourished in much higher concentrations of atmospheric CO2 and we are presently in a CO2 drought in relative terms of how old the Earth is? Also try and understand what the Milankovich cycle means for our planet along with El Nino and La Niña and the circulatory patterns of the Worlds oceans that transfer heat/energy from the Sun to our Oceans which are then circulated and give rise to our weather and thus the ‘climate’ 😊

Corals adapt by exchanging zooxanthel that no alarmist can bury. It is proven in more and more studies, the only concern for them is
that it won't be enough. However, this is only from the point of view of an alarmist, because zooxanthellas have a huge diversity and we know zooxanthellas that already thrive without problems even in the worst bleaches - Durusundium, Cladocopicum-C1, C15, C3,... Even within an almost identical group, they can have different tolerances, and more and more resistant are developing. Understand that scientists can't just say that corals will survive even if they have sufficient results. Scientists must always have an open conclusion, and thus alarmism will always get out of the discussion through these holes. You can never be 100 percent sure.

once you're sufficiently concerned with the environment, one will naturally seek the information on co2, specifically its "greenhouse gas" properties. then, once you follow the math to see just how dire the situation is for yourself, you notice how utterly trivial it is. less than 1% temp differences from co2's heat retention properties. co2, even if it was 100% of the atmosphere, could not increase the temps on earth more than 1%, thats simply the physics on how much heat it can "hold" (bad way to say it but thats the nomenclature of today). do your own research

The Hunga Tonga volcano in January 2002 put a significant amount of water into the stratosphere. A 10% increase which is expected to persist for several years. Nature has done a number of articles on this, otherwise ignored, event.
Nature predicted that the water vapor would cause an average temperature increase of around 1.5 C. That effect would persist for some years.
The key article can be found in the Jan 2022 publication of Nature.

Concerns about Eastern Australia's Great Barrier Reef, Western Australia's Ningaloo Reef and All Australia's Coastal/River Marine Environments is Based on More than Just the Condition of the Coral.
Australian's, Including Native Australian's Love to Fish for and Eat Fish, Sharks, Turtles Etc.
Plus Australians are Very Good at Fishing and been Fishing for Hundreds of Years, Thousands of Years for the Natives. At Times Australia has Mostly Accidentally, Damaged the Coral when Fishing.

I've been watching the coral story and this video appeared in my timeline. Thank you, it sets the record straight in so many ways. Also love the website that goes with it. It is also a great resource. 👍
Any UA-cam video like this that comes with the blue "warning" band is well worth watching. I learned that during Covid. They're usually the best resources on the internet.

Great video but please can you post it without the awful, distracting background music, please? 🙏

could it be decades of radioactive water being dumped into the ocean by Japan?

The water they are releasing into the ocean has one seventh of the radiation allowed in drinking water.
