This was excruciatingly painful to watch. Father Murphy martyred.. and other brave men died.,🖤😭
Was grateful to see the memorials erected and now beautiful the area where they stand..
Although this incredible video was sad and made us cry., its educational value is commendable..
As always we thank you immensely for bringing us along on these poignant tours..
Your video are done is such a way., that we feel we are walking there beside you.. stunning and unforgettable this was💜💙☘️

As a young man of 20 I spent a while in Australia. One day out for a ramble I came across Waverly cemetery and stumbled upon Dwyers grave. It blew me away. Its a site to behold. And contains the "memory of the dead." "Who fears to speak of 'Ninety-eight'?
    Who blushes at the name?
When cowards mock the patriot's fate
Who hangs his head for shame?

Amazing video and such knowledge. I remember visiting Wicklow and this region in 1998 from Australia and seeing various monuments for the 1798 Uprising. The memory of the memorials and the history have stayed with me all my life.

For hardships forced upon Irish families as they were oppressed and suppressed by those Un-Law-Fully demanding tribute. May each be richly rewarded for their deeds according to His Law, His Will. My 4th great grandparents. Teddy and Mary Hart emigrated to America sometime shortly after the 1798 Rebellion. The first indication I have of these ancestors is when their son, Timothy Hart (who later, by the way. became one of the signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence at Goliad) was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1810.
I don't know when Teddy and Mary left Ireland and wonder if it was connected with the 1798 Rebellion.

There is a McDonagh written about in a newspaper in Western Australia in 1900, its only brief but it refers to a McDonagh as being 130 years old (the locals believed) he was illiterate and didn't know his age but before he started to ail, he used to talk with the locals of his memories of watching Napoleons soldiers coming over the hill while he was pushing his plough. He used to say he would have been about 20 when that occurred. So I thought it sounded like BS, so I started searching convicts and entries and beleive that I found him, he shows up as entering Australia i think in about 1805 (maybe earlier - i'm digging in my memory banks here) but then he 'disappears' and the next time he shows up is in a remote area of WA, and what I find gorgeous is the comment by the locals "we think he might be older but we aren't sure', and .. "although he has become more feeble he still managed to get his potato crop in this year'.
