The WallMasters and ReDeads terrified me until I learned I could kill them. What was really cool about playing Ocarina of Time was that I felt like I was actually Link, bearing the Triforce of Courage. I had to keep pressing on and constantly face and overcome my fears. It was a really cool experience to me!
The whooshing sound the Wallmasters make in Ocarina of Time gives me a bit of anxiety. Gah. I mean the enemy itself is weak once you csn hit it, but I just hate it.
You forgot the worst thing about Floormasters... The ones that split into three... The mini floormasters when they latch onto you... they absorb your energy and turn into full sized floormasters.
Reasons why I think the Wind Waker ReDeads are the absolute scariest things in Zelda: -that scream. THAT SCREAM. -the way they look and the way they're "dressed" (like their earrings) makes you think they were probably somewhat human once, and I don't like to think about what must have happened to them for them to look like this now -the way they step out of the tombstone when it's opened but then they don't move anymore -when you kill them they don't disappear until after a while -when you point light at them they look like they're feeling utterly intense pain but cannot scream, however they don't take any damage -the way they just stand motionless in that one room in the earth temple and at first you don't see them because they're pretty well camouflaged -the way their eyes glow read while you're stunned from their scream -if there are multiple redeads in one room and you kill one, another one, which was motionless at first, suddenly begins to walk around for a while -this is the worst nightmare I've ever had: first I was in Link's place in the cutscene from MM where the moon crashes into clock town and everything is engulfed in flames, including me. Then everything went black. When I woke up again I was in this room, it was dusty like the earth temple, and I couldn't move. I was completely petrified. On the other end of the room, however, there was a WW redead, and it was very, very slowly walking towards me. I had no way of escaping, and all I could hear was the echo of its slow and heavy steps. It came closer and closer, until it suddenly let out one of its horrible screams, and that is when I woke up. Seriously, I will never forget how terrified I was. Anyways, great list, and sorry for the long comment :P
back when i played WW on game cube i remember running through one of the redead rooms in the Earth temple, cleared all but the last redead and the game locks up for a few minutes, well it didn't exactly lock up, the screen froze, or something happened and caused it to lag cuz when it unfroze i swear to you i hear the loudest scream erupt from my tv as i watch this mummy fuck run full tilt towards this poor lad, I believe it was caused from the game finally deciding to catch up with itself and all the animations just sped up, and the scream overlapped itself as it updated. Just a guess honestly idk what happened but i wouldn't go near that game for months after, still my second favorite game ever though and i hope i can find it again someday
I think the creepiest part of the Twilight Princess cutscene is the end. Link has a weird expression, almost like he's enjoying it and then he falls to his knees. It's one of the only times he shows emotion in the game, making it really effective to me.
8:31 THIS cutscene was the one where my mom came in, being 33 herself, me being 13. Yeah, *let's pretend this isn't creepy, now that I'm alone.* **really dies inside, feels like I am affected by Elegy of Emptiness...** _Mom even laughed at the moment when the Ilia laugh happened._ holy shit.
The Skyward Sword silent realm guardians were pretty heart pounding! And the redead screams froze me also! Dead hand! 😰 This put me in a corner, crying in a fetal position. I was petrified!
TheOwnersOfTriforce I agree with you guys the wall and floor Masters are really creepy especially when they grab Link and he screams that's really creepy
I think it would be so cool if you guys made a video ranking the art styles of the games!! You could take into account how well the style fit with the overall tone of the game/how much it contributed to it, how threatening certain enemies seemed in those styles, how items (even simple things like rupees and hearts) looked, how the world created a certain atmosphere, etc. You could also compare/take into account remastered versions (like the 3D or HD versions) but it would be up to you whether or not that would be a separate category. That would be a super interesting video :) My favorite style of the games I've played is the one from Twilight Princess because I loved how they made things look a little more realistic and I thought the bloom effect they utilized was beautiful. I'm also a huge fan of the Skyward Sword art style because it seems elegant and smooth, especially given the capabilities (or lack thereof) of the Wii when it came to graphics. I want to play Breath of the Wild so badly because everything about that game just looks beautiful and it seems like it would be so much fun, but I don't have the money to buy a Switch :( being a college student means sacrificing a lot of unnecessary purchases, haha.
That's not a bad idea, but we can't promise anything. We have a lot of other things planned out. TP's art style is also one of my favorites, so I totally see what you mean. Hope you get Breath of the Wild at some point soon, then :) - Owner 1
I don't think I should be freaked out by this, but when I had to get the Ghost Ship Chart in Wind Waker, I turned a corner and got jumpscared by a floormaster that I completely forgot was there.
I agree with Dead Hand being #1. You can look away from the moon, or turn back time. You can avoid some of the others. You HAVE to be locked in with Dead Hand. And if that's not bad enough, since it happens quite frequently, you cannot even begin the fight against your nightmares until you let one of the hands grab you. Then he suddenly appears and approaches you, making your struggle even more terrifying. And if it's your first time fighting him, you may not know that you have to hit him in the head.
Enemies you had to sneak around because if you get noticed, they take you down in one hit? I think that's fair to be terrified by :) Silent Realm Guardians too! - Owner 1
owners: "there's one enemy that we find creepier than the redead" owners: **puts no.2 as a wall/floormaster** owners: **puts no.1 as a dead hand** me: "so there's two enemies you find creepier than a redead"
Like Xa- Shes says, we think of it more as a mini-boss. HOWEVER, if you'd listened more carefully, you'd hear Owner 2 say that "there's AT LEAST one enemy...". There's a big difference between "just one" and "at least one", you know?
I'm 100% with you guys on the dead hand being the scariest thing... scared the living crap out of me as a kid and is still pretty damn creepy now! Haha
Well, here's my thoughts on this list. First time giving my thoughts on a countdown, so feel free to let me know how I can do better. Anyway, onward! 10. I do think that the animations for putting on the masks creepy, but I don't think it's creepy enough to give me nightmares, though Zora mask did creep me out the most. 9. Link's statue may have inspired Ben Drowned, but I don't find it creepy in general. 8. Ha! Knew this would be on here! Though I didn't think it'd be this low, but your list, not mine XD Definitely one of the darkest moments I've seen in my life. The music that plays while Yeta looks into the mirror shard sounds like a lullaby for a child. The camera zooming in on Yeta builds up the tension. Then, Yeta turning around 180° like she saw the Excorist or something with THAT vampire-like face. Then, looking right at you for a few seconds, which looks like she shattered the fourth wall, at least, it looks that way to me. Seriously though, Blizzeta is one of the reasons why, when I look at her, I look around every 5 minutes or even 5 seconds to make sure she isn't right behind me. Thanks for the nightmares, Nintendo. 7. Maybe the music is intense, if not creepy, but he guardians themselves don't creep me out. 6. Uuuhhh.....I got nothing to say about this, except that they're not creepy to me, but maybe for the most part, weird :D 5. Yeah, the cutscene is pretty good at being one of the creepiest cutscenes in a video game. 4. The moon is not creepy to me, but I can see how many people can be creeped out by it. 3. Redeads- one of the weirdest enemies I've seen in a video game, and their screams don't make them any less creepy, but I find the Wind Waker variants to be the creepiest with their screams and appearances. 2. Yeah, these guys look like the kind of things that you don't want to see in a dark place, though I can definitely say the same thing about Blizzeta. 1. To me, yes, Deadhand can be really creepy, but I don't find him as scary as, well you may have guessed this, Blizzeta. Still, he can creep or even scare many people, especially those who see him for the first time. WHEW! That took a while, but it's good that I can get my opinion across UA-cam. So, how's that for my first reactions/thoughts list. By the way, Blizzeta really has two faces? :O W....T....F? That makes her even more scary to me.
10. Right? :P 9. Don't you find how strange he looks, though? 8. Haha, wow. Luckily, she didn't bring that many nightmares to us :P 7. Not even the "half"-guardian? 6. Fair enough :P 5. Sure 4. Yup. 3. Yeah, they're pretty much the ones responsible for them making it this high. 2. And we sort of go the other way around. Blizzeta was only scary for that one second to us, nothing more :P 1. Come on, freaking Dead Hand... everything around this abomination is creepy, don't you think? I'd rather be in the cold room with Blizzeta and breaking that ice mass rather than have those icky arms grab me while that vile thing wiggles towards me :p Not bad at all! It's nothing hard to do, btw, but you managed to do this well, so don't worry :) Yeah, that makes it all the more unsettling :P - Owner 1
+TheOwnersOfTriforce Wow, that didn't take you long to respond back. I guess you wasn't as busy this time. But, thanks for responding back. Few things I want to say. About number 8. Yeah, you are lucky that she didn't give you guys as many nightmares as me. I've had plenty of them after I saw her for the second time, but only a few I can remember well. Strangely enough, when I saw her the first time, I didn't find her scary at all. Just, weird. About number 7, if those are the ones without weapons, then, well, maybe a little bit. About number 2, what do you mean "go the other way around"? And sure, it was for one second, but that was enough for her to be added to things that I fear. And about number 1, don't get me wrong, I still think that Deadhand is pretty creepy, if not scary. I understand you dread Deadhand, or find him creepy, I do too, but you know, as this line goes "The word 'scary' is subjective. What scares me may not exactly scare you, and vice versa"-ConnerTheWaffle April 4, 2015. So, we're all scared of something, and it may not the same fear for one person as it is for another. I find Blizzeta scarier than Deadhand, and you probably find Deadhand scarier than Blizzeta. But, I do think Deadhand is creepy. You would rather be in an icy room with Blizzeta than be grabbed by Deadhand's hands? Ok, fair enough to me. I'm not trying to be mean. Again, thanks for responding back, and the feedback on my list. That means I might do well on my Boss Ranking of Twilight Princess' bosses, among other things.
@@TheOwnersOfTriforce Hey, Owners. It's been a while. Watching this list again, I just thought I would say that I am not scared of Blizzeta anymore. After the first playthrough, I played a second time, and well, facing Blizzeta again, she turned from my scariest boss ever, in my opinion, to personal favorite boss in the game, although Zant is the best boss in the game. Not scary, whatsoever now. In fact, I'm still not creeped out by Dead Hand, but I can definitely say that he is creepier than Blizzeta. How's that from then to now?
Doesn't the Fierce Deity Mask have a transformation cutscene like that as well? (well, and the Giant's Mask, but that one is nothing special by comparison)
Another great vid you guys! Really creepy and creative, the ambience is great ;) There was some really great finds in this videos... Scariest moment for me was the Yeta, mainly because it was late at night and almost no lights on and I was alone when she screamed :P Happy Halloween! And good luck with the coin flip for the costumes! *giggles*
It was scary! :P Hahaha! I guessed as much ;D Fun fact: Did you guys know Twilight Princess won "Gullstikka" by Norsk spill- og multimediaforening? Wikipedia is our friend :P I wasn't even aware that Norway had gaming prizes until a couple of years back :P
Voldemorten83 We believe you! Yup xD No, we didn't know. I know I've heard about Gullstikka, but I had no idea about TP winning an award in our country :p - Owner 1
I just started playing that game a couple of months ago, so I wasn't that scared. Besides, you don't even have to get close to it. Just throw 7 or 8 bombs at it.
@@markus8086 Yes, yes! Either that or-if there’s light shining in the room where you encounter those horrid abominations-blast them with Mirror Shield-reflected light! And of course, a Light Arrow can insta-destroy them, too.
Awesome video! Anyone else notice that almost every entry on this list was from oot, mm or tp? Those games seem to have to most dark/ creepy stuff. From the second I saw this list I knew number 5 would be on here. I was surprised the Happy Mask salesman wasn't on here, he gives me the creeps!!! Then again everything else on here was super creepy too so it'd have to be a top 11 lol.
Yup, they definitely have the darker and creepier themes. He is sort of creepy, but we actually define him more of a mysterious character. Hah, true :) Thanks for seeing that point that there's actually only room for 10, and that you understand the choices we made! :D
yes!!! Redeads gave me nightmares as a kid while playing Ocarina of Time their scream and rape attack frightened me. I would also say skull kid scared me.
Happy Halloween! I'm again watching this with my mobile phone and can't comment as usual, but I really agree with your list. Dead Hand is definitely the creepiest thing in the Zelda Universe!
Majora's Mask's game over screen. Just the moon crashing, the wall off fire and the cut to black only to be chilled by the creepy laugh and "you've met with a terrible fate haven't you". If anything had ever put me off failing a game, it's that.
Nice List. When I was a Kid the Creepiest things were Blizzeta in TP and in Majora's Mask the moment when the Majora's Mask entered inside the moon and the moon's eyes started glowing and crushing even the 4 giants. But the most creepiest of all when i was young was Pamela Ghibdofather leaving the closet and comming after you and i thought it was even more scary than the regular ghibdos! And his scream was so disturbing.
Hey there owners! I was so sad to miss the stream, but you already know the reason. I still had fun for the few minutes I was there! Good singing btw. Anyway, cool video as usual! 10: I guess they were pretty creepy. I was pretty surprised too. 9: I've never been a huge fan of creepy pastas, as I feel that Ben drowned is sometimes the only thing people know about MM. I was glad to see you rule out the pasta, because the statues themselves are damn creepy! 8: The minute I heard the notes of Snowpeak playing, I knew what was coming. I loved this cutscene in it's entirety, so I liked its inclusion in your list! 7: Definitely one of the creepiest things that happens when they wake up! Nightmare fuel. 6: This was actually a pretty cool dungeon in one of my personal least favorite Zelda games. I liked their characters, and I liked how they tried to manipulate you. Good choice! 5: I found this cutscene a little overrated, as it was mostly just weird then creepy. I think it was trying too hard to be creepy, so it didn't have much of an impact on me. 4: This would be around here on my list. The moon was pretty spooky, but I agree that it wasn't really creepy as much as it was just sad to see it crash, and that since you could avoid it, it was less of a threat. 3: ReDeads are the freaking creepiest thing ever! They terrified me so much in the games, especially Wind Waker. I never wanted to go past them in the shadow temple. I liked them dancing in Majora's mask though. XD. 2: Wallmasters were more annoying to me than creepy, but I can understand why it would be so high on your list. 1: I finally have agreed with you on your number one! This thing was horrifying! I did not expect such a dark monster in a childish game. While I don't like the fight that much, as I said in your top 10 minibosses, I definitely agree that it's the creepiest thing in Zelda. Anyways, that's my opinion on your list, and I didn't really feel like making my own, as they were mostly on your list. Sorry... I did enjoy this video, and I'll probably be able to catch you guys in the next stream since it won't be my sister's birthday again! (BTW she said thanks to everyone for wishing her a happy birthday) See ya next time!! :)
Hey there! Yeah, you better be sad! You even missed me beating Helmasaur King WITHOUT DYING EVEN ONCE!!! (Alright, we had the Tempered Sword and the Blue Mail, so it was easier xD Had I taken as many hits without the Blue Mail, I would have died, but I probably would have been more careful as well. Who knows?) Anyway, it was nice having you there, even for a bit :) Thanks for the compliment on my singing xD 10. Certainly caught us off guard the first times. 9. Agreed! 8. Yeah, we bet it was a bit obvious :P 7. Hehe, yup. 6. Yeah, we liked it too :) 5. We agree, it's not really THE creepiest thing, but we felt it was worth a place hear. That one part I mention there with several Ilias falling down was just...wow 4. Glad you see our point! :) 3. Haha, seems like we have pretty similar opinions here :) 2. Understandable. 1. "Finally"? Is this the first time ever? xD It sure is! That's ok :) We hope to see you in future streams! Haha, that's so cool. Hope you and especially your sister had a great day :) See ya! - Owner 1
TheOwnersOfTriforce Haha too bad I missed that feat of strength! Just so I know for next stream, what dungeons have you guys beaten so far? I hope I don't miss the Ice Palace or the Swamp Palace! Yeah, we had a lot of fun on her birthday! Thanks again! (I hope Lake Hylia and Great Bay Coast appear on your list of waterside themes! But then again, you might not like Great Bay... We will see! :)
Logan Abaldo Haha, yeah xD I did say during the live stream that I was totally putting that clip alone up on our channel, just so you could see it xD Probably won't, though. We've beaten Eastern Palace, Tower of Hera, Palace of Darkness, Skull Woods and Thieves' Hideout. We've been into Ice Palace and Swamp Palace, but so far, we haven't found a way to beat them without the Hookshot :) We'll see about the waterside themes!
5: I'm not sure it's really trying to be creepy. It's trying to be impactful and it does that in spades. I think the real thing about it is just how much it asks out of the player. Almost nothing in it is meant literally and everything is from Link's own subjective perspective. Everything represents something like the falling Ilia's represent his temptations towards darkness and the image of him screaming is the rage the dark interlopers felt to them being sealed away.
Sorry I was a little late to this video, I wasn't notified for some reason. But anyway a great video, I've been waiting for a list like this for a while!
You think so? We think it's just weird and kinda funny xD Mostly, at least... Sorry, we don't remember exactly, but it's great to have you back anyway :)
Also yes, agreed that all of the transformation animations are terrifying. Except for the Fierce Deity transformation. That one’s actually kind of funny.
Link goes to the bathroom to see the ??? guy for a heart piece when suddenly hands come out of every toilet, they shatter, and a metal door drops down for the most awkward boss battle yet
#10: I never played MM or found this somewhat creepy, but I can feel that way if I saw this in real life. #9: Yeah, I feel like I can’t not agree with this to some extent. The Deku one is pretty cute, the Goron one looks like he’s flexing, but the Zora looks shook, and of course Link looks very disturbed. #8: Literal jump scare. Instant top 3 for me. #7: By far my least favorite part of SS, because it provides an unnecessary amount of stress on me. #6: I don’t own PH, but I don’t really find them creepy. #5: You may feel the emotion that the game is trying to make you feel, but I really have nothing more to say about this at all. #4: A spherical thwomp, face and all, besides the apocalypse part. #3: The ReDeads for some reason never scared me unless I had the wrong mindset about them, not even WW, and that may be because they were the first ones I saw, so I got buttered up to them. #2: Yeah just don’t want to be grabbed and taken through walls and the ceiling, especially if it has sharp fingernails like that. The WW ones though…they’re too cartoony to be scary. #1: GOOD FREAKING CHEESUS THIS GUY IS NIGHTMARE INDUCING! EVEN IN THE 3DS PORT! Maybe listen to MHR’s frost islands battle theme while fighting this guy, it’ll help you power through.
When I was a kid for some reason skulltulas always freaked me out. In Majoras mask in the observatory I always had my mom swim around the skulltula to get the chest with rupees
10: The spider-like ennemies in Skywiew temple 9: The big spiders with the white back in TP 8: The spiders in the Ghost ship 7: Small four legged spiders in TP temple of time 6: Big four legged spiders in TP temple of time 5: Small skulltulas in Oot and MM 4: Big skulltulas in Oot and MM 3: Skulltullas house in Majora s mask 2: The family turned into skulltullas in Oot 1: Spider boss in twilight princess
By the way, one time as I was replaying Skyward Sword recently. In the Eldin Volcano Silent Realm. I had literally only one goddess tear to collect which I was nowhere even close to it and the next thing I know the Guardians wake and then luckily I was able to get into the circle so I could hold them off for a bit. But I was NOT going to restart all of that again because of how tedious and frustrating that Silent Realm is. And then I literally RAN FOR MY FREAKING LIFE. And holy shit I can’t believe I actually got the last Goddess Tear as the Guardians were chasing me. It was literally the luckiest thing that ever happened to me and I felt like I should’ve achieved something after that. Oh wait, I forgot that you always get an item after completing a Silent Realm so technically I did achieve something.
20 years later, I STILL remember the first time I entered the market after pulling the Master Sword from the stone (Ocarina of Time). I was so freaked out that I pulled the plug to the TV out the wall. I think I went a whole month without playing that game.
I never found anything that creepy in Zelda games...They should extend the games with scary stuff IMO. The only thing that scared me back in the day(when i was 6) was the darkworld music of death mountain/lost woods in ALTTP and maybe the gibdo father in MM
Huh, not much that scares you, then? :) Well, not everything here has really SCARED us in a real way (Dead Hand did back in the day, though, for sure!), but there is a lot of creepy stuff here. We'd love to see a dungeon or something along the lines of OoT's Shadow Temple in Breath of the Wild!
Was wondering/ I would like to see you make the top 10 best cutscenes in zelda. Based on personal preference, importance and feelings. My number 1 would be in SS when Zelda locks herself away from link after he has passed through the 2nd gate of time. Damn those feelings
i was horrified by the redeads in TP when i was a kid. (i was basically scared of everything in that game.) but now i actually really like fighting them for some weird reason.
Yeah, they sort of grow on you. Sometimes the things you feared the most become sort of likable in the future. I don't know, maybe it's because it's familiar. - Owner 1
I've only played BOTW, WW, and SS, so I haven't experienced most of these moments. If I played any of these games as a kid, I would've gotten nightmares.
The Wallmasters in Ocarina of Time were so scary to me!! Especially in the Forest Temple. The feeling of being followed or hunted or chased or even just the feeling of being watched is one of the most unnerving feelings in my opinion, so when I saw the shadow materialize above me, it felt like my blood ran cold. Zant's Hand in Twilight Princess was like an extreme version of a Wallmaster and those sections of the Palace of Twilight were sooo unsettling. The way the music would pick up and get more stressful when it was getting near was terrifying. The only solace I had in those moments was that it was going after the Sol, not after Link xD
Also hands have always been scary to me in general. When I was younger I used to have a recurring nightmare that I was alone in my house in the middle of the night and it was storming and I kept hearing witch cackling and seeing shadows of figures on the wall but not seeing anyone in my house, except every time I tried to either go upstairs to my bedroom or down to my basement there would be a giant hand beckoning to me with one finger.
They're pretty unnerving, yeah. Same with the Zant's hand. Your nightmares sounded pretty scary. I've had nightmares, but can't remember ever having something that kept reoccurring. - Owner 1
Real talk: For a while the Ben Drowned creepypasta scared me so much that I didn't want to play Majora's Mask after I finished Ocarina of Time. Then I realized that was stupid and played it, and I consider it my second favorite Zelda game-and one of my favorite games- ever.
For me, Redeads are the creepiest (made less creepy by the gibdo mask etc.), but wall/floor masters are a close second. The silent realm is definitely my number one for most stressful. The cut scene from Twilight Princess was definitely creepy, but in a cool way. I still enjoy watching that scene for how weird it is.
All great thoughts, but when you say that the ReDeads are the creepiest to you, and leave no comment about the Dead Hand, I'm really curious - why don't you find that as creepy, or even worth mentioning here when it's our number 1? :) - Owner 1
TheOwnersOfTriforce Dead hand is creepy. Maybe #3 for me? I just didn't find it as terrifying. The way it grabs onto your face is annoying. But ultimately it's not that difficult to beat. The terrifying, paralyzing scream of the Redeads really freaks me out. I would always use bomb arrows and shoot them from a distance in Twilight Princess. I didn't want to get anywhere near enough for them to latch onto me. Both Redeads and Floor masters grab onto you and suck the life out of you. NOT COOL!!! The worst thing about the Floor masters is that when you hit them, they split into three. Then you have to kill the small ones. But I would always kill two and then the third latches on and grows back into a big one. Then you have to start all over!! Or worse, if more than one of the small ones grabs you, now you have two big ones!! I do not want to almost die fighting a disembodied hand. That's why both of those are creepier for me than the Dead hand.
We find the ReDeads and Wallmasters just as easy to fight, honestly. At least they die a lot quicker than Dead Hand. Btw, the Ball and Chain kill the ReDeads easily too in TP :)
Since October is around the corner, are you guys going to make a top 10 scariest areas countdown? BTW, the Wind Waker ReDeads scare the hell out of me! Scariest thing I've EVER seen in ANY video game! Also, I'll never forget the first time I saw #8.
I thought you finished Breath of the Wild (which I need to play more) in your stream in early July. Sorry to be a nuisance, but I miss the old countdowns. Speaking of BOTW, I estimate that Hyrule Castle from that game will be on your top final dungeons list, whenever you get around to it.
No, we still have a couple more videos. Besides, some were even released after those live streams. We did the same when Tri Force Heroes came out, even if the break for making BotW is longer than with TFH, so we hope you can be patient. Oh, and you'll definitely see Hyrule Castle on that list, cause it will be a ranking of all final dungeons, not just the top 10 ;)
The creepiest thing for me is when Romani tells you that "They... They come at night... every year when the carnival approaches... They come in a bright, shining ball. A whole lot of them come down... And then... They come to the barn..." The way she refers to them as just "They" is kinda creepy. Just listen to that unnerving sound.
Ah, that's a good one! When we made this list, of course those aliens came to mind, but we didn't really consider just how Romani spoke about them. Thanks for sharing :)
I think the aliens are the creepiest thing in the Zelda series. Even as an adult, whenever I go back to play through Majora's mask again, I dread the aliens...
Majoras mask was so fucking dark. I didn't realize just how dark it was when i was younger. I'm 25 now (played for the first time when i was prob 11) and recently played through it and man was that game fucking disturbing. But a true masterpiece, of course. Now i remember why i always skipped thru the transformation mask animation lol
Yeah, us too :P Haha. We never really noticed all the dark themes in this game as we were younger, but we see it better nowadays. We're the same age too!
10: Not take mirror 9: Dead hand 8: Redeads 7: Happy mask salesman 6: possessed skull kid 5: Zant 4: Death sword fight 3: Ben Drowned 2: Twilight princess Postman's legs 1: CD I cutsenes
I wish I had the materials to dress up as Dead Hand :l but once again excellent list. Personally I wouldn't make a top 10 because it would just be everything in majora's mask.
In my opinion, I honestly think Zants Hand from Twilight Princess is the creepiest due to its music, and the way it awakens just sends chills down my spine
The Slick Serpent They're pretty easy to get away from if you know what you're doing, but I sure do remember the first time I played this part! I was stressed as hell :P
Last time I played Skyward Sword during Nayru's Sacred realm, I got over the panic-inducing music when the last pedal falls of as this was my third play through of the game. (Hero quest) I had to run around a while to find the last tear of light, but it went alright this time (The first time such a thing happened I of course panicked) The first time I played Ocarina of time made me really scared during the very first encounter with Redeads in The Royal Family Tomb, that really made me scared of them for a very long time, I even managed to complete the whole game with out knowing that you could freeze them with the Sun song, even though it was implied. I Think I was 13 at the time.
I guess you can easily get used to it, but it is easy to be panicked, especially the first times :P Sounds like our first experiences with that! Though, we were younger than 10 at the time. - Owner 1
Yeah, OOT came out in december 1998 here in Europe! Going ff topic for a little bit, but some years after that, I played Turok 2: Seeds of Evil and I was playing in a Dark room (Stupidly) and I freaked out a little when I suddenly heard a very scary sound coming from an Undead enemy I had to destroy. (I had to pause the game for a little while.) The thing you can hear, but not see are almost ever the most frighting! The the less of what you can see, then more creepy it becomes! (Insert The original N64 final battle vs Ganon in OOT compared to the much worse one in the 3DS remake)
I remember that the first time i saw the moon in majoras mask (N64 which i beat yesterday 100%) i got nightmares of the face on everything i dreamed of
For some reason Dead Hand didn't scare me as much as other things. It's totally something that I would normally find creepy, and I TOTALLY get how it's your #1, but think it (he?) just looked so comical to me that it was a little hard for me to find scary. I was also 18 when I played Ocarina of Time for the first time, and I know if I would have played it when I was younger that I would have been more scared. I was honestly more scared by the puppet enemies in the Sacred Grove in Twilight Princess. The things that have scared me the most out of any Zelda game I've played have been the Silent Realms in Skyward Sword, but that's a different kind of scary. It's not creepy, just extremely stressful. I guess my conclusion about Dead Hand is that, in my opinion, it wasn't the scariest thing about the Bottom of the Well or the Shadow Temple. I just thought those atmospheres were terrifying. I missed a key in the Bottom of the Well that let me into a room to get a gold skulltula and I was so scared that as soon as I got the Lens of Truth I just left without looking for the missing key. To 100% everything later I had to go back and that was really stressful for me, lol.
Agree with pretty much everything here. Dead Hand isn't super scary in today's standards, but I still remember how I got locked in the room there, and I didn't dare to do anything with those arms because was sure something bad would happen. Sure enough, that horrifying monster would just rise from the ground. - Owner 1
How far did you guys end up getting yesterday? Lol I fell asleep. :Oh, and Toilet Hand man lol. I wonder if his long arm is part of Dead Hand from Ocarina lol. You could almost do a whole list of creepy shit from Majora's Mask
Yeah, that's the creepiest thing about it.
You forgot the worst thing about Floormasters...
The ones that split into three...
The mini floormasters when they latch onto you... they absorb your energy and turn into full sized floormasters.
I'd give the creepy award to the silent realms in SS.
That's understandable!
Reasons why I think the Wind Waker ReDeads are the absolute scariest things in Zelda:
-that scream. THAT SCREAM.
-the way they look and the way they're "dressed" (like their earrings) makes you think they were probably somewhat human once, and I don't like to think about what must have happened to them for them to look like this now
-the way they step out of the tombstone when it's opened but then they don't move anymore
-when you kill them they don't disappear until after a while
-when you point light at them they look like they're feeling utterly intense pain but cannot scream, however they don't take any damage
-the way they just stand motionless in that one room in the earth temple and at first you don't see them because they're pretty well camouflaged
-the way their eyes glow read while you're stunned from their scream
-if there are multiple redeads in one room and you kill one, another one, which was motionless at first, suddenly begins to walk around for a while
-this is the worst nightmare I've ever had: first I was in Link's place in the cutscene from MM where the moon crashes into clock town and everything is engulfed in flames, including me.
These are all great points! Didn't even know there WERE this many points about it xD Great job giving us a description!
back when i played WW on game cube i remember running through one of the redead rooms in the Earth temple, cleared all but the last redead and the game locks up for a few minutes, well it didn't exactly lock up, the screen froze, or something happened and caused it to lag cuz when it unfroze i swear to you i hear the loudest scream erupt from my tv as i watch this mummy fuck run full tilt towards this poor lad, I believe it was caused from the game finally deciding to catch up with itself and all the animations just sped up, and the scream overlapped itself as it updated.
Just a guess honestly idk what happened but i wouldn't go near that game for months after, still my second favorite game ever though and i hope i can find it again someday
@@s1destroyer235 haha omg that was funny af to read I can just imagine the reaction you had as the sound overlapped and was so loud lmfao
I think the creepiest part of the Twilight Princess cutscene is the end. Link has a weird expression, almost like he's enjoying it and then he falls to his knees. It's one of the only times he shows emotion in the game, making it really effective to me.
Yeah, that's a pretty weird moment! :P
Deadhand is legit like something out of a horror game or movie. So creepy.
Indeed!
I remember when I was scared of deadhand when I was 10
Is it weird that I played TP when I was nine yet only got scared by Arbiter's Grounds?
Zach R. Did dead hand scare you? If it doesn't, I worry for you...
GOLD 1515 I am actually currently playing Ocarina of Time for the first time now, and when I said TP I meant Twilight Princess
I know you meant Twilight Princess. But dead hand is creepy...
GOLD 1515 I agree
+Zach R. OoT is a great game! Good luck! (and don't look at any strategy guides. It just ruins the game.)
8:31 THIS cutscene was the one where my mom came in, being 33 herself, me being 13. Yeah, *let's pretend this isn't creepy, now that I'm alone.* **really dies inside, feels like I am affected by Elegy of Emptiness...**
_Mom even laughed at the moment when the Ilia laugh happened._ holy shit.
Yikes, sounds like a special experience.
When Blisseta did that I had my volume at 55/100 and I usually have it at 10 to 20!!!! or less.
That sounds pretty loud! xD
I loved how dark twilight princess is.
We did too!
The Skyward Sword silent realm guardians were pretty heart pounding!
And the redead screams froze me also!
Dead hand! 😰 This put me in a corner, crying in a fetal position. I was petrified!
Yes
We bet!
We totally understand xD
TheOwnersOfTriforce I agree with you guys the wall and floor Masters are really creepy especially when they grab Link and he screams that's really creepy
GOLD 1515 is hate silent realm is so stressful my Heart 😨
Dead hand is/can be nightmare fuel.
I agree on both your points.
C'mon! Surely Zant is the creepiest! He should've been there wether it is the twisting or crack!
No, we don't find him very creepy. Weird, yes, but not all that creepy to be honest :)
That's a weird way to spell "Tingle."
Hope you get Breath of the Wild at some point soon, then :)

Totally agree with number 1...... fighting Dead Hand is still a nightmare o_o
Yup! o_o
Mattia Setti I fought him the first time today it's pretty creepy. It's weird how he twitches when he dies!
Mattia Setti never got to play that game, but the giant hands in TP scared the living crap out of me
I don't think I should be freaked out by this, but when I had to get the Ghost Ship Chart in Wind Waker, I turned a corner and got jumpscared by a floormaster that I completely forgot was there.
I was actually terrified of the phantoms in phantom hour glass. Ok, I was 7.
Also the spirit realm guardians.
Enemies you had to sneak around because if you get noticed, they take you down in one hit? I think that's fair to be terrified by :) Silent Realm Guardians too!
- Owner 1
owners: "there's one enemy that we find creepier than the redead"
owners: **puts no.2 as a wall/floormaster**
owners: **puts no.1 as a dead hand**
me: "so there's two enemies you find creepier than a redead"
I think Dead hand counts more as a boss
Like Xa- Shes says, we think of it more as a mini-boss. HOWEVER, if you'd listened more carefully, you'd hear Owner 2 say that "there's AT LEAST one enemy...". There's a big difference between "just one" and "at least one", you know?
Yeeee!!
Ur vids are one of my favourites!!
(Btw, the first song was hella nostalgic)
Yaaaay! :D Your comments are some of our favorites as well :)
TheOwnersOfTriforce ohw stahp it x)
KafeiTomasu Haha :D We could say the same thing to you xD
Redeads
oot: meh
mm: got some nice moves
ww: I just pooped my pants.
tp: they got swords now, yay......
Some are definitely scarier than others :p
TFH: WHAT THE FUCK? THEY CAN TELEPORT NOW?!
I'm 100% with you guys on the dead hand being the scariest thing... scared the living crap out of me as a kid and is still pretty damn creepy now! Haha
Right? Haha!
6. Uuuhhh.....I got nothing to say about this, except that they're not creepy to me, but maybe for the most part, weird :D
10. Right? :P
9. Don't you find how strange he looks, though?
8. Haha, wow. Luckily, she didn't bring that many nightmares to us :P
7. Not even the "half"-guardian?
6. Fair enough :P
5. Sure
4. Yup.
3. Yeah, they're pretty much the ones responsible for them making it this high.
2. And we sort of go the other way around. Blizzeta was only scary for that one second to us, nothing more :P
1. Come on, freaking Dead Hand... everything around this abomination is creepy, don't you think? I'd rather be in the cold room with Blizzeta and breaking that ice mass rather than have those icky arms grab me while that vile thing wiggles towards me :p
Not bad at all! It's nothing hard to do, btw, but you managed to do this well, so don't worry :)
Yeah, that makes it all the more unsettling :P
- Owner 1
True, it does. We sort of forgot that. Giant's Mask too, yes, but like you said, that one isn't really scary.
The "Dead Hand" is a sweet name. In german it calls "Hirnsauger", translated to "Brain Sucker". xD
Haha, so we've heard xD Dead Hand is a weird name, and Brain Sucker sure is a more fitting and disturbing one!
Another great vid you guys! Really creepy and creative, the ambience is great ;) There was some really great finds in this videos... Scariest moment for me was the Yeta, mainly because it was late at night and almost no lights on and I was alone when she screamed :P
Happy Halloween! And good luck with the coin flip for the costumes! *giggles*
Thanks :D Glad you think so :) Hah, that must have been frightening!
You too! (even if it's a bit late now xD) Yeah, that didn't happen :p
It was scary! :P
Hahaha! I guessed as much ;D
Fun fact: Did you guys know Twilight Princess won "Gullstikka" by Norsk spill- og multimediaforening? Wikipedia is our friend :P I wasn't even aware that Norway had gaming prizes until a couple of years back :P
Voldemorten83 We believe you!
Yup xD
No, we didn't know. I know I've heard about Gullstikka, but I had no idea about TP winning an award in our country :p
- Owner 1
The Wind Waker ReDeads are still for me the scariest thing to come out of the Zelda series. I still get major chills every time I see them.
Wicked video my guys ! I literally agree with everyone of these, other than #6 cause i haven't played it yet😅. 😂 thats rare for me to come across 🎉
yes!!! Redeads gave me nightmares as a kid while playing Ocarina of Time their scream and rape attack frightened me. I would also say skull kid scared me.
They're both worthy of being on the list, for sure.
Yay so glad you guys included the Guardians
They needed to be here :p
Happy Halloween!
I'm again watching this with my mobile phone and can't comment as usual, but I really agree with your list. Dead Hand is definitely the creepiest thing in the Zelda Universe!
Happy Halloween to you too! :)
Ah, that's fine :) To us, there's no doubt that Dead Hand is number 1. Nice to see that you agree :)
Majora's Mask's game over screen. Just the moon crashing, the wall off fire and the cut to black only to be chilled by the creepy laugh and "you've met with a terrible fate haven't you".
If anything had ever put me off failing a game, it's that.
2:09 and that my friends, is why I avoided Majora's Mask like the plague as a kid
They're all pretty disturbing, for sure!
Logan Abaldo well thank you too Logan's sister XD
Who knows?) Anyway, it was nice having you there, even for a bit :) Thanks for the compliment on my singing xD
10. Certainly caught us off guard the first times.
9. Agreed!
8. Yeah, we bet it was a bit obvious :P
7. Hehe, yup.
6. Yeah, we liked it too :)
5. We agree, it's not really THE creepiest thing, but we felt it was worth a place hear. That one part I mention there with several Ilias falling down was just...wow
4. Glad you see our point! :)
3. Haha, seems like we have pretty similar opinions here :)
2. Understandable.
1. "Finally"? Is this the first time ever? xD It sure is!
That's ok :) We hope to see you in future streams! Haha, that's so cool. Hope you and especially your sister had a great day :) See ya!
- Owner 1
TheOwnersOfTriforce
Haha too bad I missed that feat of strength!
No problem, and that's odd :/ Thanks, glad you liked it!
The dead hand at the bottom of the well and shadow temple still creep me put to this day
The creepiest moment is the hand on the toilet ps remember Aarond last 5 months ago it's mess love your videos
*me ps* sorry bad language
You think so? We think it's just weird and kinda funny xD Mostly, at least... Sorry, we don't remember exactly, but it's great to have you back anyway :)
For me the most creepy thing about the dead hands is when he walks and his head is up. Look like something is about to come to you.
Do you agree with me that?
Yeah, that's super creepy!
when Wolf Link gets pulled into the Twilight freaks me out too because he howls
the creepiest thing to me is redeads from oot and possessed zelda on tp
Understandable, and possessed Zelda is interesting! You're pretty much the first one we've heard say that :)
wow give me a rupee then :P
"REDEAD SCREAM"
Indeed it was. Armogomah creeps me out a little too. Since it's movements are too much like a real tarantula.
I agree with number one.
Damn right you agree with number one xD
TheOwnersOfTriforce :p
Also yes, agreed that all of the transformation animations are terrifying. Except for the Fierce Deity transformation. That one’s actually kind of funny.
I remember as a kid having problems doing the forest temple and shadow temple in oot because of the wallmasters ugghhh
Yeah, they can be a pain sometimes :p They're easy enough to avoid in the 3D games, though :)
Dead hand is definitely the creepiest boss! I found it creepy when I was 10 and I still find it creepy at 28!
Right?? Same goes for us, only we're 24.
Yeta's jumpscare literally scared the ever loving shit out of me back when I first played Twilight Princess. Holy fucking shit.
Haha, it's happened to almost everyone :P
Ocarina of time is such a fucking creepy game.
I only played it once and not even 100% and want to never to it again.
It is pretty creepy in some ways, but it has a lot of wonderful things too :)
Man, just imagine if Shesez did a Boundary Break on the back of Blizetta’s head to see if that creepy face is still there at all times.
Link goes to the bathroom to see the ??? guy for a heart piece when suddenly hands come out of every toilet, they shatter, and a metal door drops down for the most awkward boss battle yet
...what? xD
TheOwnersOfTriforce Oh sorry the punchline was it turns out to be Dead Hand :)
Drawyoursword420 Haha, I just didn't get the whole metal door thing and stuff xD
Well, they were huge and came out of nowhere. Can't blame you for that!
the link statue when u play the elegy of emptyness looks stoned
Haha, that's something we've never heard from anyone else or even thought of ourselves, but we can sort of see it now xD
I actually found the redead's dance to be kinda hilarious lol
We can see why you did :)
10: The spider-like ennemies in Skywiew temple
9: The big spiders with the white back in TP
8: The spiders in the Ghost ship
7: Small four legged spiders in TP temple of time
6: Big four legged spiders in TP temple of time
5: Small skulltulas in Oot and MM
4: Big skulltulas in Oot and MM
3: Skulltullas house in Majora s mask
2: The family turned into skulltullas in Oot
1: Spider boss in twilight princess
So...anything with spiders? :P
TheOwnersOfTriforce Absolutly anything about 8 legged freaks
Oh wait, I forgot that you always get an item after completing a Silent Realm so technically I did achieve something.
this is nothing. I mean, have you ever even SEEN ooccoo?! that shit left a scar on my eyes for ages to
come!
Hahaha, so true xD It's not as creepy to us as just...completely weird, though :P
Zelda rated E for everyone 10 and up. Worker:let's put this... thing in zelda. Sakurai :great idea.
Ah, yeah, that's a great one! It's one of my favorites too. Not sure if we'll get around to that, cause we have sooo much else to do.

The creepiest thing is that hand rubbing on grooses friend in Skyward Sword
That's also a creepy thing, for sure
i was horrified by the redeads in TP when i was a kid. (i was basically scared of everything in that game.) but now i actually really like fighting them for some weird reason.
Yeah, they sort of grow on you. Sometimes the things you feared the most become sort of likable in the future. I don't know, maybe it's because it's familiar.

That moon is the stuff of nightmares...hang on, when we destroy it, then how do the Terminians manage their tides and stuff?
Whose here after the streaammm
I am it was great
Annick Götte Me
mee
yea me :D
Right after! It was pretty cool having a new video directly after the stream!
I've only played BOTW, WW, and SS, so I haven't experienced most of these moments. If I played any of these games as a kid, I would've gotten nightmares.
Number 8 scared me SOOO much as a kid
Hah, yeah. It was an unpleasant surprise :P
I was craving creepy things once more, so I came back to a playlist of creepy videos. :D
Cool :D

Real talk: For a while the Ben Drowned creepypasta scared me so much that I didn't want to play Majora's Mask after I finished Ocarina of Time.
Then I realized that was stupid and played it, and I consider it my second favorite Zelda game-and one of my favorite games- ever.
Haha, it's great that you realized that xD Fictional stuff like that shouldn't keep you away from playing such a great game :)
Those things in skyward sword scared the hell outta me everytime
Not just you, mind you ;)
love this channel, keep up the good work!
We're really glad to hear that! We will :D
- Owner 1
TheOwnersOfTriforce I always found the ball and chain extremely awkward to use, but thanks for the tip!
elfsong713 We think it's super awesome :D But we get you. And you're welcome! :)
Since October is around the corner, are you guys going to make a top 10 scariest areas countdown? BTW, the Wind Waker ReDeads scare the hell out of me! Scariest thing I've EVER seen in ANY video game! Also, I'll never forget the first time I saw #8.
That is a good question! We don't really have plans for it yet, but we'll see what we can do. It could be really fun to make one.
I'm dying to know what you guys think are the scariest areas in Zelda. BTW, I miss your regular countdowns.
We'll see if we get to do it :) We will go back to the lists based on all games once we're done with Breath of the Wild.
And then... They come to the barn..."
The way she refers to them as just "They" is kinda creepy.
If you didn't see Deadhand coming, he would be very creepy. I'm surprised Death Sword isn't on here.
Today is halloween ? that's great. this video fits well with this event
It was yesterday :) October 31st. That was the plan :D
Not take the mirror was terrifying lol
Sure was :P
I remember when I was really young watching my mom playing TP... I was terrified of Blizzeta
Yes! Dead Hand is the WORST. I still find it terrifyin.
We're not surprised! He is that terrifying.
Anybody else find the soulless links in Triforce Heroes creepy??? Just imagine seeing 2 clones of yourself with those faces they have!
Oh yeah, they're creepy. It could almost make it onto the list here.
Yeah that Blizzeta jumpscare nearly gave me a heart attack lol
Also i agree with number 1 dead hand is terrifying. But if you read this comment then hope you have a good day :)
That's cool that you agree :) And thanks, you too! :D
Np and keep up the amazing work :)
Nepty Neptune We'll do our best :)
I'm very glad to hear that. Im a big fan of your channel and i will always watch your content :)
10: Not take mirror
9: Dead hand
8: Redeads
7: Happy mask salesman
6: possessed skull kid
5: Zant
4: Death sword fight
3: Ben Drowned
2: Twilight princess Postman's legs
1: CD I cutsenes
Hahaha! The top 2 are hilarious :P
#8 always made me think of the Mothman.
I wish I had the materials to dress up as Dead Hand :l but once again excellent list. Personally I wouldn't make a top 10 because it would just be everything in majora's mask.
That would be amazing! Thank you :) Yeah, we can easily believe that xD
In my opinion, I honestly think Zants Hand from Twilight Princess is the creepiest due to its music, and the way it awakens just sends chills down my spine
That's very understandable :)
The Slick Serpent They're pretty easy to get away from if you know what you're doing, but I sure do remember the first time I played this part! I was stressed as hell :P
The Slick Serpent Indeed!
The Slick Serpent It's a creepy place, so we understand why!
The Slick Serpent Can't you play Dynasty Warriors?
Last time I played Skyward Sword during Nayru's Sacred realm, I got over the panic-inducing music when the last pedal falls of as this was my third play through of the game. (Hero quest) I had to run around a while to find the last tear of light, but it went alright this time (The first time such a thing happened I of course panicked)
The first time I played Ocarina of time made me really scared during the very first encounter with Redeads in The Royal Family Tomb, that really made me scared of them for a very long time, I even managed to complete the whole game with out knowing that you could freeze them with the Sun song, even though it was implied. I Think I was 13 at the time.
I guess you can easily get used to it, but it is easy to be panicked, especially the first times :P
Sounds like our first experiences with that! Though, we were younger than 10 at the time.

(I had to pause the game for a little while.)
The thing you can hear, but not see are almost ever the most frighting! The the less of what you can see, then more creepy it becomes! (Insert The original N64 final battle vs Ganon in OOT compared to the much worse one in the 3DS remake)
Daniel Olsson We know. We live here too, remember? ;D
Indeed! Totally agree with you there :)
I should have written here written here instead of Europe
Daniel Olsson Hehe ;D
WHY IS GOMESS NOT ON THIS LIST? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? That thing is a complete nightmare!
Redheads themselves werent what scared me thay scream tho had me scared of Hyrule castle town everytime until I got older
#8 is blizzatas transformation and
#5 is the interlopers
Omg TheOwnersOfTriforce i agree with you with your number 1 chose dang that sucker scared me so much as a kid
the undead made me freak out as a kid!!
Who didn't they freak out? :P
when I first played Majora's Mask , the things that scared me most where floor masters , they would leave me crying in the dark
but dead hands still deserve first place , they were creepy too
Just came from a very refreshing stream. :)
:D
TheOwnersOfTriforce owner 2 I have to agree with you the Dibalical Cubs sisters do look like creepy porsoln dolls seriously they freak me out
TheOwnersOfTriforce I agree with you Owner 2 the Diabolical Cubus Sisters do look like creepy porcelain dolls there creepy
I remember that the first time i saw the moon in majoras mask (N64 which i beat yesterday 100%) i got nightmares of the face on everything i dreamed of
Aw, that's not fun.

I thought the whole entire oceranaof time game was creepy I don't know why it just gave me the creeps
It really does have a lot of creepy stuff in it, so we're not really surprised.
Was going to be genuinely disappointed if dead hand wasn't #1
Hah, glad you agree with us then xD
How far did you guys end up getting yesterday? Lol I fell asleep. :Oh, and Toilet Hand man lol. I wonder if his long arm is part of Dead Hand from Ocarina lol. You could almost do a whole list of creepy shit from Majora's Mask
In total so far we've beaten 2/3 dungeons in the Light World and 3/7 in the Dark World :) Yeah, Majora's Mask could pretty much fill up a top 10.
