I will definitely try these out to compare them with my HEDD monitors, which I absolutely love. Unfortunately, at about twice the weight and four times the price of my Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro headphones, I don't see myself buying these.
Thanks for great videos! I hope you can help me to answer a question. I am not looking for an audiophile gadget, rather I want a reliable workhorse. I mainly work with acapella and dialogue. I want my headphones to: 1. Have flat and neutral frequency response for accurate post editing. 2. Be revealing and detailed for critical and analytic examination. 3. Give me the best possibility to clean up the audio and reach a final product that transfers well unto other sound systems. Good build and price is not crucial, but of course a bonus. What is my best pick under 1000 USD? And what is my best pick if money is not a problem? its beautiful :) i don't doubt i sounds good, looking forwards to reviews. may i voice my concern that it might have to little displacement for the lowest bass? as far as i know you need a pretty large driver with several millimeters is excursion to output usable volumes in the sub frequencies.
I tried them, but had to send them back almost immediately. Main reasons: 1) My neck was hurting pretty quickly. Caused by the fact, that the folded membrane starts to crackle when you move your head ever so slightly. So you try and keep your neck pretty stiff. And second: the headphones are pretty heavy. Those strong neodymium magnets weigh a lot. 2) You need a dedicated headphone amp, with the appropriate sound tweaking knobs to make them sound more "friendly" than their default linear response.
Cannot wait for reviewers. Already saw promising short review of resolve audio and I wanna get info about signature against an hd800 or hd800s...because I wanted to push the button in the next weeks. If it holds what he said about sounstage and tonality, I am in. Still a bitt worried about the base...not from resolution, but punch as I would wish an hd800s with spightly less treble and I bit more base.
I can't help but feel that they look a bit "pinchy" - the way they resemble a circle when not on the head. They remind me of how my cheap SuperLux HD68EVO (great sound, but very low build quality) put a lot of pressure under my ears - beacause they literally pinched. These do have a bit of articulation, and way better cushions, but personally I prefer cups that close flat against each other. I've learned to appreciate the difference after I finally figured out WHY those cheap (and breaking) SuperLuxes felt tiresome to wear. The HEDDphone's 700 grams of weight is not particularly light, and they are bulky - but at least they don't look like a ridiculous torture device like Abyss AB-1266.
Well, I'm certainly greatly looking forward to hearing them - would love to review a pair. AMT's tend to have impressive resolution/precision over most other types of driver, so that should be right at home in a headphone... but who knows. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. And what the build quality feels like, as it looks rather unassuming and bulky, so to speak. Now lets see if it will be possible to get hold of a pair...
You only need a few expensive headphones in the market. But it's getting crowded with each new company going into this market. Hifiman Audeze mrspeakers dan clark audio Meze Abyss Stax Sennheiser Focal Kennerton Audio Should I stop?
4:42 By "certain planar magnetic headphones" he's referring to LCD 4s. Just LCD 4s. Almost nothing is that heavy, I put on some ZMF or Focal headphones thinking "wow these are a bit hefty", 700 grams would decapitate me.
4-5 months of struggle over the headband? Why not instantly solve it with a wide strap instead of a less wide headband bar that creates a more localized pressure point ordeal? I simply can't understand it.
I am all for innovation. But if the headphone is too big and heavy the listener is not going to wear it and it doesn’t matter how good it sounds. How many increments better than, for instance the new Dan Clark Audio Aeon 2 closer or open is it? What is the incremental difference between these two? The Aeon 2 is portable. Take it anywhere. With the HEDD you can not. So in summary, some ideas are good. But they aren’t good enough. Your idea may be nice. But you have to view it in context to the competition that is already out there. There are many other great headphones that aren’t 700g and huge.
I guess that's what separates consumer-fi from hi-fi. An audiophile will go through great inconveniences to extract the best sound possible from their music. A consumer will rather wear wireless headphones and not want to be inconvenienced in any way, simply enjoying the "beat" or "bass" of the track.
It's convenient because they're in Berlin and this is entertaining video. The product itself doesn't look feasible, the sound quality would have to be groundbreaking for this product to be relevant. It's a shame.
700g is way too heavy. It is LCD4 weight. Pretty much the heaviest headphones on the market. It also doesn't look too good. Like a PM1 on steroids. Although look is subjective. I think the cable connecting to the earcups should be in an angle... I am still curious to hear the sound, it seems like a cool innovation. Soon we will find out how cool.
I don't care how good it is because at 700 grams, it's 100 grams heavier than the LCD-4z which is already at the limit of what headphones should weight so a fail from the start unfortunately.
@@HEDDAudioGmbH I really do hope to get the chance to compare and review the HEDDphone soon here in Belgium. As said in a different video, it would be great to see a family/range of headphones in the future. For instance to have a much lighter, entry level hybrid model with a dynamic bass driver (mini honeycomb-sandwich?), and a top tier model with about three smaller VVT diaphragms to get the weight down. Those would probably be near impossible to fold and assemble by hand to get the consistancy/quality right.
1700 € and it comes without a goldplated connector that even 50€ headphones have... I hope that they would fix that by now. Anyway I'm very curious of how these would sound and how it does compare to a plar magnetic, dynamic or electrostatic. Hope Z Reviews or Joshua Valour get a pair to compare.
@@BijBijTCG I know that's not that important but these are touch that doesn't cost a lot and are a standard feature by now ESPECIALLY at this price point. Would like to see also a balanced connector since these must require some clean power to them.

tom gibson Tom, was there much sound-leakage?

The driver should have been put in a Verum-one or AB-1266 like structure. NOT THAT THIS STRUCTURE IS BAD, though is suboptimal.

Just so you could hear him complain about the cables and pads?
5:26 He mentions the gap being important but it cuts to a different topic. Why is that gap important?
@5:51 he clearly states that making them-3 mm thinner would narrow the sound stage significantly.
Im guessing its just to prevent creating a hotspot
It's the same with all headphones and speakers. Changing the distance from your ears has a large impact on stereo effects.
"It's too heavy, so I won't review it"? Um....?
We all have our limits. Maybe yours is at 2kg? 5kg? I can't possibly know.
