Graff is about getting your name up.
Writers do it illegally, but graffiti artists paint legal spots and some writers get up in the streets and legal spot. Also, black books 100% still count cause that’s where you flesh out the burner you’re planning to paint.

this isnt a conversation about writer vs graffiti artist, wrong topic and conversation buddy. As im sure you know since youre a part of this community, everyone here on this channel is aware to be a writer you have to do it illegally, otherwise you're just a graffiti artist. we've covered that in plenty of videos so i for sure agree with that point.
I'm from the UK. We'll call anybody that doesn't do it illegally street artists. Or fake writers. That might be a South Yorkshire thing but I get what your saying.
What about people who do not produce letter based art but are also not producing their art legally because I’ve heard people say that’s street art but other people giving that person shit for not producing letter based art even tho they get up more than the other person, I think the stigma around people who don’t produce letter based art but still produce their art illegally needs to change
@@angusd9219 well for starters remember, street art is just a general category, not a specific art form so they would 100% factually still be street art, but the actual artform they're producing would depend on what they've drawn, portrait, cartoon, so on so forth.
@@angusd9219 around my way nobody gets any respect for just doing legal stuff full stop. Well they will from there own crowd. But the real writers won't be showing any respect. If you did a full house side on a cherry picker. The bottom 7 foot will get blasted by somebody pretty quick.
I ain't saying it's right or wrong that's just how it is around here. There are real writers then everybody elses shit gets dogged.

people of all classes do both.
Graffiti is about names, not only letters, characters also. And street art is about ideas. Correct me if I'm wrong!
Names are made from letters and graffiti doesnt have to make a name, for example one letter pieces. And characters already have an established fundamental set so that can't be correct either. Ideas is already included in any term categories like street art and Renaissance so that part is correct.
@@TheartistblockWhen I said names, I meant, names of graffiti artists, the community part. In my opinion those names and widening amount of pieces and places with your own name (no matter, letters or charac) are main thing in graffiti. Ideas though, are the main thing of street art. That's the difference
