    I started doing graffiti in about 6th grade (sketchbook pieces, not actually hitting walls lol) though I did start out as a traditional artist and that is the type of art I’ve pursued into adulthood, your videos definitely make me want to start doing pieces again. Especially since you are also both a graffiti artist and a traditional artist (although I just call anyone who does any form of art an ‘artist’, it’s for technical terms)

      I'm kind of in the same boat, graffiti was never my main or only focus when it came to art but I always loved to see skilled artists work whenever I'd go through a city. One thing I love to do now, many many years later, is mixing graf with more traditional artforms for the fun and challenge. Examples could be making the leaves of a tree or the clouds in they sky spell a name while not being the main focus. Or on the flipside you could make something that is all letters but together form a larger picture. The more you dive into "art" and learn, the more you will get out of it in the end. Keep at it and let your imagination run wild, have fun!

      I could see if thats something we can do for sure, I don't see any reason why not. Im still working out lots of the specifics for the mag, looking to see how exactly I'm going to run it, and what it will entail and I like this idea for sure.

    I'm not 100% sure, but a lot of old writers in my area also just play around with the 3d. im not a big fan of this tho... but maybe it was intentional?
    big love!

      Sorry about that buddy. I get too many requests to keep up with as just one person. I can get to all the requests and this is why submissions are done through tagging me instead of using DM. Tagging me in your post allows you to share your work with me without needed me to approve it first.

    For the E that had “incorrect 3D”: would it be justified if the artist was trying to twist the top of the E to make it look like it was popping out?

    • @Theartistblock
      @Theartistblock  2 місяці тому +1

      thats a great question. For better or for worse, graffiti's actual structures exist on one plane and one depth of field where the structure itself doesn't distort its plane or depth of field. This is largely (but not the only reason) why we have a definitive letter structure and definitive 3d sections. For the 3D to contort this way, the actual E's structure would have to also heavily distort to the point where it wouldn't look like an e anymore. This would also call on the more strict rules of perspective that would further distort the graffiti as a whole.

    The 3D is an intentional thing but brilliant demonstration with the tic tac box 👍🏽 do some research

    • @Theartistblock
      @Theartistblock  Місяць тому

      Care to explain the fundamentals for us? It being intentional doesn't make it correct, and doesnt make it work. Seeing the other inconsistencies that directly contradict multiple fundamentals just about cement this as an error but I'd be very interest to hear your reasoning and justification.

    • @Theartistblock
      @Theartistblock  Місяць тому

      @@Hannah-vl7iu great, doesn't change anything. Doesn't prove your point or disprove mine. The guy who did the piece is the one who asked for my help so you knowing him doesn't mean anything. Not to mention, 1 point perspective is a literal function of the real world so unless you're a god with the power to change physics and reality then you're not going to prove me wrong. Kind of hard to disprove how forms actually function.
