Oh my gosh! Just stumbled across this video (and failed the saving throw) and watched the entire thing with my jaw on the floor. Your content is fun content whether anyone ever actually plays a game of actual D&D again. Sometimes, the entertainment factor is sufficient reason in and of itself :)

I am currently bringing a friend into D&D and he actually asked me about Ability Score Modifies, so I actually laughed at this!!! Thank you for this video, I will share it with him and others in the future :)
This is very nice to have to show people to get a general baseline idea of what it is, how it works and what to expect. Bookmarked it and prob will share the video a lot. A perfect starter to give someone before talking through them with DnD beyond or whatever else so the sheet gets filled on its own and they just gotta pick and chose with a rough idea of what things mean
OBSESSED with Babs the Barbarian's makeover - so much fun! Thanks for the video; my DnD crew are all pretty new and just started our first ever campaign together! Doing some research, and came across your videos. I appreciate the expertise, clarity, and humor. :)
Not only was it a great explanation of the basics without going into the nitty-gritty of things, but also, I love that the mimic (and the baby mimic) showed up for the sponsor break! People should definitely watch the video where they were made.
fantastic video. I"ve already sent it to a few people who are interested in playing but overwhelmed by their idea of D&D. The jokes in the video are great. I loved the segues. Thanks again Ginny.
This video is so perfectly timed! I'm running a oneshot for a few folks at work at the start of the new year and two of my players have never played before. Thank you for this!
This was one of your best videos ever! Love that you went back to basics. I'm hoping you are planning to continue on that route, as I have a request. I've watched probably 5,000 videos on DnD over the years, and I realized I've never seen a channel do real examples of combat. It's pretty crazy, but I actually looked and can't find much. I would love if you could do a series of videos - one for each class - where you set up a couple minis and play out a real 2-on-2 fight to show examples of combat. Like a Monk video where the Monk and some other random party member fight 2 goons, and you can go through actual turns for each character, but specifically zero in on the Monk's abilities. That way, we can get to know Flurry of Blows, Step of the Wind, healing abilities, wall walking, etc. Then a video for Paladins, so we can see how smites work. And a video for Druids with examples of wildshaping. And so on and so forth. Just little 10-15 minute fights that show off what each class can do. Anyway, just an idea that I think you'd totally crush. Keep kicking ass, and I'll keep watching and enjoying!

As a long time D&D player, your focused & humorous introduction is perfect. If I tried to do this, 3 hours later I might be heading toward combat. PS humor is a vital thing to have to play, laugh at your Nat 1against the no longer sleeping dragon, laugh at the DM when your nat 20 slays the boss...

This is a great video!! I loved being a DM back in the day (when I was 13 in 1984) and now my son is playing and is great and excited (he is 10) and this video makes me feel like the game of D&D still has life and can be learned by newcomers. Thank you for making and posting this!
Ginny's Mom reads this, this is alwesome. Makje sure Gelatinous Cutie doesn't see the video because she such a gentle soul that is so misunderstood and Ginny calling another cube a loser may break her heart.
Hi! I am 100% brand new to D&D, i had absolutely no idea what it was before this video..My friend breifly mentioned it to me, and i couldnt even tell her i knew what it was! 😂I just wanted to say how informative this video was from the perspective of someone who previously had no clue about it beforehand!! I can see myseld binge watching your videos now.!! Thank you for this!! ❤
That's so awesome - glad I could help!
Hope you get to play a game soon. Let us know how it goes when you do 🥰
You missed the 4th kind of person this video is also for: People who just like to watch your videos because they are clever and funny and promote an uplifting attitude to gaming and/or socializing altogether. Your content is fun content whether anyone ever actually plays a game of actual D&D again.
Sometimes, the entertainment factor is sufficient reason in and of itself :)
Same, I just love the heck out of her positive attitude and watch her videos because they are awesome.
I'm a bit familiar to the combat because I played a lot of video games that had turn based combat like Pokémon.
ty for the vid ginny ^^
(I know this is random but your hair is so shinyyyy ✨)
Hoping this helps a friend feel more prepared to play! 😊
I hope it does! Let me know how it goes!
13:21 or fire ball, the reason there is fire
I am currently bringing a friend into D&D and he actually asked me about Ability Score Modifies, so I actually laughed at this!!!
Thank you for this video, I will share it with him and others in the future :)
Glad I could help!
Another fantastic video Ginny!
Thank you so much! 💜
OBSESSED with Babs the Barbarian's makeover - so much fun! Thanks for the video; my DnD crew are all pretty new and just started our first ever campaign together! Doing some research, and came across your videos. I appreciate the expertise, clarity, and humor. :)
Ok, now to rewatch and NOT look at the candle flame for the entirety 😂
those wooden wicks really do go HAM 😂
Not only was it a great explanation of the basics without going into the nitty-gritty of things, but also, I love that the mimic (and the baby mimic) showed up for the sponsor break!
People should definitely watch the video where they were made.
0:53 But I want to be queen of all the horses on the moon.
You just have to roll a Nat 20 😂
fantastic video. I"ve already sent it to a few people who are interested in playing but overwhelmed by their idea of D&D. The jokes in the video are great. I loved the segues. Thanks again Ginny.
Chester and Boxxane!!! I hope they become recurring guests on the channel ❤️
This video is so perfectly timed! I'm running a oneshot for a few folks at work at the start of the new year and two of my players have never played before. Thank you for this!
That's awesome! Hope it helps and you have a great time 🥰🥰
I bet sweeping all those dice off the table was fun and satisfying!
It must be my birthday because I wanted this 🎉😂
I’m going to be running my first D&D campaign with friends and they haven’t played before.
This is a well made video to help. Thank you! Been following your channel for a couple of weeks and love your videos! It’s been helping me a lot to learn how to be a DM.
Great hair color!
Thank you! 😄
@ wow, I feel starstruck. Thank you for all your videos, they are greatly entertaining and help me grow as a dm! Because of you I added merfolk in my campaign’s world
I already know about D&D but I watched & liked anyway because I wanted to support you since your advice in other videos has been so great. I'd love for you to be people's introduction to D&D 💙
Hi Ginny's mom!
Awesome! Clever, clear, and succinct. Love you videos on DnD.
You forgot people that just like watching/listening to you ;)
I legit have no idea who you are but you suddenly popped up in my algorithm. Never played D&D before but watched this the entire way through because you are thoroughly engaging. Now I really want to get out my inner nerd and give it a shot! Just earned yourself a Subscribe!
Hello Ginny's mom
As a long time D&D player, your focused & humorous introduction is perfect. If I tried to do this, 3 hours later I might be heading toward combat. PS humor is a vital thing to have to play, laugh at your Nat 1against the no longer sleeping dragon, laugh at the DM when your nat 20 slays the boss...
first!
I am unreasonably proud of this. Also, you’re a legend, Ginny! ❤
I'm proud of you too 😌
@@alejandrogomezdelmoralguer3502 I understand. There've been times when I posted the first comment (not the word first) under a video but it gets buried for some reason. The algorithm is weird, man!
I REALLY like the flow and simple way you explain things. Kudos!
Thank you!! 🥰
Not me internally screaming : "NOOOOOOOO" when those poor innocent dice were rudely shoved off the table..... SACRILEGE!
......nice collection, though. Happy to have found you over "Kraken Week", even though I'm not a D&D main XDXD.
Thank you, I can already see this video being very useful to maybe, hopefully, finally get some of my friends to join me in playing. I especially like that you made a lot of small examples, because I often find that it can be tough for people to imagine what a game looks like, if they don't watch actual plays and showing them some of these - often monstrous long videos - can be so daunting to folks.
I really love the format of these videos. I’m such a nerd for this game and I find it comforting. 😊
I also watch all of your videos regardless of what they are. Because you are a gem, a gift to this dreary world, and I adore you.
Ive been playing for a few weeks, tonight i didnt feel like the group was dragging me. Thank you for sharing your knowledge ❤❤❤
This video is so great. Explaining the basics of the game is such a difficult thing to do clearly AND making it sound as fun as it really is.
First video, I like the natural wit, genuine character and thank you for wearing actual clothing, will come back for more good stuff.
I've been playing D&D for 35 year and still love to watch videos like this.
This is SO good. SO clear! Thank you!! greetings from Argentina!
Thank you for this I have a new comer in my campaign (hooks & axes) I can send him this to teach him the basics.
Hooks &axes is also our d&d group name aswell
Hi, Ginny. I am an old player of D&D, I actually started in high school with Basic D&D. I just wanted to say that your videos are fun. Thanks. :)
first video where I campaign for at least a brief appearance of Na'krasha in every video - thanks Ginny, this is one of the best introductions to D&D I've seen!!
That was really helpful. My coworker is a dungeon master who loves talking about the game. I think I can understand him a bit better now. Thanks.
You’re welcome! Tell him I said hi 😂
As a DM since 1980 I enjoyed you explanation and would recommend your video to anyone interested in ttrpg's of any sort. Well done, huzzah!
The recurring "segway here" was absolute perfection! 😂
This video also comes at a great time. I've introduced many new players to D&D but it's been so long since I've done that and I don't feel as confident. Have a few people wanting to try the game so it's time to run them a game
A segue is a rhetorical device. A Segway is a brand of two-wheeled transportation.
@461weavile Thanks for the info
Hey New Player Reading This Comment! I'm someone who has loved these kinds of games for ages, and who's run these kinds of games for around 5 years now, and even I still need help remembering some of these rules sometimes! You don't need to know or remember everything, just try to remember something new each session and you'll get the hang of it before you know it! You're gonna be great, I believe in you! 😁
As always, a super clear and fun video!! Thanks Ginny, I'll send it to my friend who are still scared about trying out D&D ❤
ive been wanting to play for the past 4 years and finally have my first campaign/ party meet up with people and I'm freaking out, so I've been binging all of your videos TwT
I knew it! Ginny Di is Sailor Moon! (Greetings and Felicitations, Your Lunar Majesty). Thank you for another entertaining and insightful video - and it was nice to see Edith again ^_^
Tip for that new player in the table: give them a set of dice where each dice is of a different color. That way, you can say "Roll a d10, it's the red dice".
