    Thank you very much for this video.
    This is amazing dash cam from VIOFO, just bought it and installed it two days ago in my car, and i like the quality of this dash cam.
    I just want to say: FINALY!, some known dash cam brand (in this case this is the VIOFO), manufactured a dual dash cam with equal image quality for both the cams, the front and the rear, i mean 1440P front and 1440P rear, looking ahead that some brand will release dual dash cam with 4K at both cams as well.
    And yes, the voice notifications in this model, literaly about everything is awesome.
    I hope i will be happy with this purchase and use this dash cam for years to come, for me this is the first dash cam from VIOFO.
    And also i like that it has the remote button for locking emergency video files as an option, not every brand has to offer this feature if any, and also as an option you can buy and connect to this model an external mic, that will record even more quality sound with the video that the internal one, nice to have.

      We’ve had their cameras for a few years now and they have always been very reliable. They all still work despite their age and crazy California desert heat. And the features are better than other brands we’ve tested and researched. I too am hoping for a dual 4K camera. And maybe more options like triple and head cam options.

      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Рік тому +1

      Yeah, these cameras don’t have batteries to run them. All capacitors and tied to the vehicle power. Many dash cam still have batteries and they all fail quickly in the heat. The battery starts to swell and it either damages the camera or they just fail.
      Viofos are all capacitor based, no batteries, and can deal with a lot of heat.

      @@KeepItDirtyOffRoad power issues. Possibly related to the power suppl but not sure. Everything seemed fine when testing it. Used the same supply as you did in your first install video a couple of years ago. Purchased a new power supply after first camera stopped working and no luck. Interesting. Did you set the voltage and all that correctly?
      I’ve wired these with cig lighters, with hard wired USB ports and with the hardwire kit and never had any problems. These are capacitor cameras so as long as you have hood power they work well. Wonder if the vehicle or tapped circuit had any problems

    Great info. If GPS is turned on, how do we shut off the speed function? Don't want insurance or police accusing us of speeding when an accident happened although its not our fault. Secondly, is it possible you could do a quick video on updating the firm ware? Thank you

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Рік тому +1

      You can pick to see GPS coordinates, GPS with speed, only speed or nothing at all. So yes you can remove the speed.
      The update process is super easy and listed on the VIOFO website. Basically grab the update file from them and load it into the SD card you usually use. Just pop it into the camera and it will update once you boot the camera up. Very easy process

    The add a circuit in your Amazon store is the same one you used in this install? I tried a micro2 add a fuse and it seemed too narrow for the fuse slot. It seems like a Mini would fit better.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Рік тому +1

      Depends on your truck. Gen2s use Micro2.
      gen1 uses different fuses in the cab. I think mini, so you need a mini Ato tap since the mini add a circuit won’t fit. I think I put it in the video screen notes since I got it wrong in The dialog.

My car doesnt have a backup camera, do you think its possible/feasible to use this as a backup camera? does it fire up pretty quick once turning on the car? Also i wonder if there is a way to have the rear cam take up the whole screen when first starting up? would be nice for people with older cars. anyway thanks and ill keep an eye out for videos!

      It’s takes a few seconds to come up and boot up. The display is small and I would not recommend relying on this as a backup camera.
      You can pick which camera is displayed latest on the screen. Both with one PIP or just either camera. But the display does not stay on after like 30seconds. It is configurable but again I would not recommend using the tiny display as a backup camera.

    Great video man!! Just got mine! Quick question tho, the original tap fuse is 10, should the dummy tap one be a 10 too?

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Рік тому +2

      There are 2 fuses on the tap. One for the tap and the other for the tapped circuit. Front one is for the tapped circuit and that needs to be what you removed. It loops back into the fuse box and needs to be what you removed.
      The tap, needs to be what the tap needs and these cameras maybe draw 2 amps. So 2-5 amp fuse is needed. That tap fuse does not loop back into the fuse box. Your just getting hot power from it, so it can be what ever you need it to be. It can even be more than the tapped circuit because it’s on a separate fuse.

    • @carlmardochecadet1601

      Thank you. So a 2 and a 5 or two 5s

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Рік тому +1

      No. One is the same amps as the circuit you tapped. If it was 10, use a 10. If it was 15, use a 15.
      Then for the camera on the back of the tap use a 5amp. And done.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad

      I wanted to get some more test time with it. But overall video has been great. Even with direct sun, video is clear. Only drawback is if you tint you windshield with that clear film that has recommended popular, the polarized lens sees the rainbow effect from the film. That’s it.
