Nowadays we have had 20 years of "progressive" rule in a lot of European countries, with the exact same "moral panic". Hah! It also has gotten exponentially worse since the giant entity of a concept called "social media", that has gotten so powerful that it has become the moral judge all the way to political decision making and directions of political parties. People don't even believe what they see with their own eyes anymore, because the current narrative on the social media platforms tells them the opposite is the truth. I really wonder what it will develop into in coming years, will I be imprisoned for my thoughts inside my head?

Gen was absolutely right.. if more artists had fought for freedom of artistic license we may not be in such a terrible state now.. my boyfriend is a well known contemporary artist who has always kept his integrity and faced this kind of establishment censorship when the police raided the gallery where he had a show about to open... because he had a piece which was called Bad Ladder .. it was a step ladder with a bomb on it .. this bomb was like a cartoon bomb.. quite clearly not real.. but they decided to shut down that part of London and raiding the gallery with armed police.. he had to agree to NEVER exhibit that piece publicly again! If that’s not censorship I don’t know what is... thankfully he has never shied away from making dark art with a powerful narrative to it .. commenting on life.. which is what artists are meant to do .. but these days they are just urban artists who make one successful piece then just change the colours or backgrounds etc and do massive print runs!
