It was subversive in that context, but not forward thinking. I can totally see why the music was too traditional to the ears of Orridge. Punk music didn't really get exciting until it reached Japan anyway.

I like how even though genesis didn't fully 'get' his gimmick they still respect and treat him with a decent level of mutual respect. Came to this after seeing Henry Rollin's roid rage shitshow.
I appreciate that as well. Nardwaur reminds me of a pre-late 00's YTV or TVO host who kept their cheery, animated personality while doing serious interviews w/high-profile celebs unironically in that style

I saw Psychic TV live in Geneva a long time ago and at one point during the performance he stared me right in the eyes. That whole thing was an incredible weird eerie experience.
