  • "You have to keep your head up. The only way you can support your little one is to continue to be strong. We have to be strong for our little ones so they can be strong for themselves" - Brianna Toner
Brianna Toner, a young mother of two, joins Elsie at the Round Table to discuss what it’s like to fall pregnant while in school, and the types of support that were available to her when she found out she was expecting at just 16 years old!
The two young women unpack her lived experience, discuss the support Brianna wished would’ve been available especially from the secondary school that she was attending, and the change that they would like to see from our education system to help better support our young mama’s finish school and get that certificate.
We hope this conversation encourages our communities and schools to understand the importance of providing space for young mothers to complete their education, and how their support plays a pivotal role in their new journey.
