Very clear and well explained... I was having doubts about doing this myself, but feel confident about carrying this out, you have demystified the whole FPV process for me, thanks. Keep up the good work.
Nice great install, you should do a video on using the new GoPro4 and how to balance it with the H33D or H32D. I've noticed a difference in weight and an issue with the new side settings button, I would like your take on it.
Very informative step by step instruction. I bought exactly the same setup except from the monitor mount...I like yours better. Now I'm more confident of setting it up with this...
Really nice, best fvp phantom 2 tutorial available no doubt about that. Only Can anyone tell me so how do I record and take photos with this setup? or is it that possible?
Hi there Just wondering if the H3-2D will work just the same. I noticed that there is something connected to your gopro at 4:52, is this something required for video out? I was shopping around firstpersonvie and found a few cables without the iosd mini ( which is what I want. But there seems to be some with a connector for gopro and some without?
also one strange thing, i downloaded the regular phantom 2 software, but the icon on my pc says dji phantom 2 vision assitant. even though its the phantom 2 assistant.
Very nice video, well made ! i am wondering how do the video signal comes from the gopro to the FPV ? from the gimbal ? (the gopro power source on my phantom2 got ripped out, so i don't connect it )
I bought all the items so I can do this setup in a few days. This video is amazing. Super, concise, with great video. Nice job. I did have one question. the ImmersionRC transmitter. The location you have placed it. Is that still the most desirable location and orientation (antenna pointing out backwards)? Again, awesome videos. I am watching them again and again in preparation for the final piece (the FPV part) of my build.
martmeister77 Thank you. The transmitter can be placed wherever you like - I just preferred the book of it there and the fact it was at the back so I could install the antenna and switch on easily etc!
Excellent video! I messed up something with the channels and bands but I fixed it. Now, I just have a problem: my IOSD mini is working well but when I plug it in the computer to update the firmware the software does not recognize the IOSD and I can't update it. I saw that you said this update is not obligatory, but I wanted to make sure it's updated. Do know why this happening? Thank you!
Eduardo Guarda If I remember correctly a driver needed to be installed first?? Check the DJI downloads page - I think you need to download a driver as well as the actual update.....
Hi! Excelent job out there!!! May I ask if this setup can be mounted over a phantom 2 vision+. The one with the integrated camera. Thanks and congrats on your channel!
When this FPV setup is finished, from where do you connect your FPV to a Go pro?? is it connected to the drone by the wire which is coming in out from the gimbal?
Hello! Thank you for the awesome video. I have a Walkera 3D gimbal installed for my GoPro3+ all on my P2. How will the video work in my case, since it isn't a Zenmuse(that plugs into the back of goPro on the mount itself)? Thank you in advance!
Hey, what stuff would you recommend me if I were to do this now? I am in Sweden and just got my hands on a P2 with H3-3D gimble and Hero 4. I need transmitter and receiver/screen.
hi I have the same setup - can I ask the horizontal flight distances you get this? I was achieving around 700m but after a recent death drop from the sky (battery was 93%!) I am achieving approx 50% of that distance now before the image snows/corrupts. Any ideas what the issue could be? Problem with the video board/transmitter Immersion RC? - its 350mw rated.
Hey iftibashir! your video was really helpful and I got it working for some time. After replacing two of the motors however, now all I see is the iosdMini info but no GoPro feed. Any thoughts?
First of all. Thanks for your videos. The are really helpfull. I got all the items and everything works fine. My question is, if I plugged the cable (plug an play) without have an IOSD mini, will I get video on my monitor? I read your message for AREA saying yes but other guy say it does not work. Did you make any test? Thanks!
My phantom 2 does not have the port described for the osd connector, maybe my unit is the vision. Trying to use the camera that is installed. Is there a alternate location for this plug? Thanks!
Same. Want to use the "egg" camera that came with the Vision2, but alternative FPV signal since the dreaded wifi transmitter/black screen video feed problem that plagued this quad.
I am very interested to know what the range you are getting with the immersion rc and the black pearl. I have heard that they are not very compatible with each other and the range drops out at only 500 metres.
Thanks for the videos...they really help. Unfortunately in this video I did not see where you placed the canbus with the mini plugged into it. Did you put it inside with 2 sided tape? If so, where specifically inside? Thanks again. Keep the videos coming.
Since its such a small and light part it really doesn't matter whether you keep it loose or secure it down - I left mine loose tucked into the case.....
Hi, and thanks for the video :) very useful, I was wondering if I can setup the transmiter without the need of the iosd mini, I mean: what should we do with the IOSD mini cables we don`t have one and if it`s possible to have FPV without it ? thanks again and keep it up
hello again i assembled the fpv to my dji phantom 2 all works well just 2 problems i encountered the receiver when i stuck it to the base of the phantom due to the heat off the receiver it keeps falling off the body. did this happen to yours also i can connect the phantom to the assist software but when i try to connect the iosd mini to the iosd mini software it does not recognise the device. any suggestions thank you. thank you for a great tutorial
I followed all instructions in this video and your Zenmuse Gimbal installation video, and my FatShark FPV goggles are not receiving any video signal from the GoPro. I've tried numerous things like fiddling with the ribbon cable, switching the channel on my goggles, and more. Any ideas?
I am newbie...correct me if i understood something wrong.. I have couple of questions. 1. Why FPV setup when we can see live video and operate GoPro camera remotely using GoPro smart phone application. 2. After completion of FPV setup , can we operate GoPro Hero4 black remotely, like start video recording etc in the mid air. Or we just need to start video recording on ground and than fly the drone?
You must ensure the GoPro WiFi is SWITCHED OFF when flying - the signals from the GoPro's WiFi could interfere with the radio signals to the craft, hence could cause a crash or a flyaway.
Very helpful.. a quick question: after installing this setup, (without iOSD widget) is it necessary to change anything in the software before the system is functional? It looked like you had a feed straight away after powering up? Only I noticed in one of your other vids when you were in the Phantom software that I saw a check box for ‘FPV’ in the gimbal set up screen.
Hi, Did u do any range test? what was the range you achieved with this setup. I have been following few forums regarding FPV. Many say Immersion RC 600mW 5.8gHz transmitter wont work ideally with Black pearl 32 Ch, rather it would work better with 7Ch it seems. IS it true. Can you please suggest what would be the ideal FPV setup for a 1.5Km FPV range.
thanks for the video, very nice. i have been informed that new Phantoms 2 are coming with new canbus which can't be removed from the landing gear? did you see it and is it true it can't be removed? thanks
iftibashir i doubled checked this and canbus is same as previous release. another question, if i use fatshark goggles, what band i need to use, is the same (F Band) as the monitor? thanks
Hello iftibashir ! I'm new to the DJI Phantom and the setup, and will be shooting a documentary in the summer. We will be using the GoPro Hero Black 4, will this setup of yours work with that camera as well? - Cheers!
Hi Ifti, can you please let me know how is the video delay/lag when you fly with this setup in both open and urban areas, i am trying to decide between this setup and P2V+. thank you
Thanks for the great video really helpful. Just a quick question i have bought the parts in the above links the upgrade antennas i received have one that has a female and one that has a male connection did i get shipped the wrong parts?because i noticed that the original one come in a male form for both the monitor and the transmitter is there any way i can solve this and if the parts are correct which one goes in which connection?
hi very good explanation just one question though you shown how you placed the iosd mini inside with double sided sticky pads but you never shown were you placed the module the one what you un screwed from the legs of the phantom. thanks again
iftibashir Hi I just have to ask is there a specific reason dji place the module on the landing gear in the first place if it's ok to just tuck it inside the drone? after this installation?
Hello iftibashir, 1). after watching this video I don't see what you do with the cambus modual once removed and plugged into the iosd mod, please explain. 2). I've been advised to get the Blk Pearl 32 channel vs. the 7 channel, tho its mentioned in this tread that this isn't the perfect setup, do you have an alternative monitor ?? I love your videos, keep'um coming
Remove the canbus from the landing gear and pull the cable through the leg inside the unit. Then reconnect the canbus - you're literally just moving it inside the craft rather then it being outside.
I want to enhance my Fpv for greater distances. But want to use my iPhone 6 plus, not a monitor. And I also want to use my dji power egg that came with my phantom 2 vision. Can I do these same things??
Hi iftibashir, I wonder if you could answer my question. It's a great video, but I am slightly confused at 4.40. I understand that I would break my transmitter (and lose £75) if I turn on the phantom without the aerial. But what if I turn on the phantom with a aerial but no gopro? Would it break? Or would the screen just show white noise? Because I sometimes fly without a gopro with the connecting wire on the Zenmuse just taped down. Please get back to me soon.
How do you know what band and channel to set it up on? i heard you say band f but why band f? im just curious. im running a zumbacam monitor wit clover antennas and a black mamba 2000mw transmitter. what settings shoud i be using?
Hi! First of all, great video! Thanks for sharing with us :) I just have this question: What did you do with the zenmuse filter force board? Is it not necessary to use? Tks!!
iftibashir Hi, I am wondering the same thing. What do you do with the anti-interference board when installing the FPV set up, as seen in your video. Thanks!
Hey There, I have the exact setup as you and followed it... My setup half works, the problem being a choppy screen... It is not NTSC/PAL, unsure whats wrong... Help please?
i cant get the signal from the transmitter, everything is plugged in but i do have 2 different antennas on my monitor than my transmitter. would that be an issue?
Can I use the Plug & Play Cable as suggested but do it without the iOSD module, can I use the first Plug and Play Cable you show so as to allow me to connect the iOSD module at a later date?
Glenn Pascoe In theory, it should work fine, but some have stated that they do not get a video feed when using the cable without the iOSD present. To be safe I would either add the mini iOSD at the same time, or use the cable without the iOSD connection. When adding the iOSD later, the cable can be quickly and easily replaced.......
Hi again :), i have your same setup with ImmersionRC, i have seen that there are two versions now of the BlackPearl, the 32CH and the 7CH (optimized for ImmersionRC). How is going your combo with the BlackPearl 32CH and Immersion 600mw are you having a perfect reception?Thank you
I have all of these items and image would be clear up to 5m I put some fat shark aerials on and works to 16m I can't find any other videos to fix it I have moved all video stuff outside on carbon graphite plate separated all bits then at most I get close to 20m surely I should get better distance then that also I am using a gph4
Khaled Amr I have my own set of driver bits. When unscrewing, dig in deep so you don't risk wiping the screw heads!! From what I recall, mine weren't very tight anyway, but persevere and you'll get there ;o)
How would you make this work with a Chinese gimbal thats already installed with my go pro hero 4? The camera feed doesn't go into the phantom so it won't share the picture, do you need another converter to plug into the fpv cable already installed on the phantom 2?
Hi, this is a great video. Thank you. - I'm having trouble getting video via my Hero 3 to show on my FPV monitor. I am using: - Lilliput 664/w 7" IPS Screen 1280x800 5.8ghz Fat Shark Receiver for Hd Fpv Monitor - Immersion RC 600mw 5.8 GHz A/V Transmitter - Plug and Play Cable: DJI Phantom 2 to iOSD Mini and Fat Shark/ImmersionRC Transmitter The channels appear to be configured properly between the Lilliput and the Immersion RC (I've tried all combos). Is the problem that I am using the plug and play cable built to run through the iOSD mini, and yet I don't have an iOSD mini? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!
Very clear and well explained... I was having doubts about doing this myself, but feel confident about carrying this out, you have demystified the whole FPV process for me, thanks. Keep up the good work.
one of the best Toutorials I´ve ever seen, saved literaly my drone
Nice great install, you should do a video on using the new GoPro4 and how to balance it with the H33D or H32D. I've noticed a difference in weight and an issue with the new side settings button, I would like your take on it.
wow! your video makes this SO much easier! thank you!
Very informative step by step instruction. I bought exactly the same setup except from the monitor mount...I like yours better. Now I'm more confident of setting it up with this...
by far the best video on how to setup FPV for a phantom dji 2!
+Guillermo Ledezma Thank you!
+iftibashir I can't seem to buy the rave creative mount from U.S.A. What other mount would you recommend?
Thanks for this video! I just installed my Black Pearl FPV kit using it just now. My supplier didn't add any instructions so this was perfect. Thanks!
Russell Nicholls Glad it helped ;o)
Really nice, best fvp phantom 2 tutorial available no doubt about that.
Only
Can anyone tell me so how do I record and take photos with this setup? or is it that possible?
Excellent!
Been waiting for this video for a while now. Now I am much more confident in getting an FPV set-up for my Phantom-2! :)
Viral Oza Fantastic! Glad it helped!
I build a phantom 2, like yours but you explanations are super nice, nice job, love it.
does the phantom 2v2 come with the usb ribbon cable to plug into the gopro? for fpv
MIKE ZEROH Yes.
also one strange thing, i downloaded the regular phantom 2 software, but the icon on my pc says dji phantom 2 vision assitant. even though its the phantom 2 assistant.
+MIKE ZEROH happens to me to should work the same sorry I'm a little late just thought I should let you know haha
Thank you dear Sir for making such informative video. Anyhow, is it possible to record at the same time?
Very nice video, well made ! i am wondering how do the video signal comes from the gopro to the FPV ? from the gimbal ? (the gopro power source on my phantom2 got ripped out, so i don't connect it )
+Mari Mix that is the cable that sends the video feed to the connector inside the phantom then to the the trasmitter then to the receiver
Very helpful. Thanks so much for putting this together.
Your videos are awesome! Keep doing it men
thanks for the neat tutorial. Appreciate it very much!
I bought all the items so I can do this setup in a few days. This video is amazing. Super, concise, with great video. Nice job.
I did have one question. the ImmersionRC transmitter. The location you have placed it. Is that still the most desirable location and orientation (antenna pointing out backwards)?

martmeister77 Thank you.
The transmitter can be placed wherever you like - I just preferred the book of it there and the fact it was at the back so I could install the antenna and switch on easily etc!
GREAT VID. QUESTION, What is the range distance of your FPV set up?
your videos are so helpful! thank you
Not sure if I missed it, I'm new to this field. How is the GoPro attached to the transmitter?
The GoPro attaches to the gimbal via the side USB ribbon cable on the gimbal itself. It's the gimbal that then attaches to the craft.
I'll ask the same question I seen unanswered some comments ago. How do you get the video feed to the tx for the non zenmuse users?? Thanks
Excellent video!
I messed up something with the channels and bands but I fixed it.
Now, I just have a problem: my IOSD mini is working well but when I plug it in the computer to update the firmware the software does not recognize the IOSD and I can't update it. Hi! Excelent job out there!!! May I ask if this setup can be mounted over a phantom 2 vision+. The one with the integrated camera. Thanks and congrats on your channel!
Tomas Plubatsch No, that has its transmitter etc built in already
excellent video...how can someone give this a thumbs down???!!!....
Very good explained video!!
One Question: Which version of the P2 did you use?
ilikerockstar22 v2 ;o)
Thanks :)
When this FPV setup is finished, from where do you connect your FPV to a Go pro?? is it connected to the drone by the wire which is coming in out from the gimbal?
According to the manual, the CAM port only provides 5V with max 2A or not? Doesn't the ImmersionRC video tx require 7V?
You really do need more subs and views, excellent!
ZeroLength Thank you - glad the videos help!
Hello! Thank you for the awesome video. I have a Walkera 3D gimbal installed for my GoPro3+ all on my P2. How will the video work in my case, since it isn't a Zenmuse(that plugs into the back of goPro on the mount itself)? Thank you in advance!
yo da man!
Thank you for making easy and informative videos for us!
Herman Steinsøy No probs - lots more coming!

MrSplintt If you want to run without the iOSD mini then it seems the direct cable is the one to purchase.....
Great video
Do you know if this same set up would work with gopro hero 4 silver?
Jake Berkowitz Yes, exactly the same setup ;o)
My phantom 2 does not have the port described for the osd connector, maybe my unit is the vision. Trying to use the camera that is installed. Is there a alternate location for this plug? Thanks!
Same. Want to use the "egg" camera that came with the Vision2, but alternative FPV signal since the dreaded wifi transmitter/black screen video feed problem that plagued this quad.
Would this fpv work with the phantom 1.1.1 ?
That works with all of the gopro cameras? I've got Hero 4 Black
Great video. Thanks.
Can something like this be done to the DJI Standard? useing the stock camera? Bundle kits availiable?
Thx for the tutorial.
I am very interested to know what the range you are getting with the immersion rc and the black pearl. I have heard that they are not very compatible with each other and the range drops out at only 500 metres.

question, if I do it, will the video be transmitted to both? goggles and my phone to the dji go app? or it will only be going to fpv?
Hi, and thanks for the video :) very useful, I was wondering if I can setup the transmiter without the need of the iosd mini, I mean: what should we do with the IOSD mini cables we don`t have one and if it`s possible to have FPV without it ?
thanks again and keep it up
AEREA Yes, you can skip the iOSD mini if you prefer - just leave it out of the equation completely and leave those cables empty ;o)
hello again i assembled the fpv to my dji phantom 2 all works well just 2 problems i encountered the receiver when i stuck it to the base of the phantom due to the heat off the receiver it keeps falling off the body. did this happen to yours also i can connect the phantom to the assist software but when i try to connect the iosd mini to the iosd mini software it does not recognise the device. any suggestions thank you.
thank you for a great tutorial
Does this also work with gopro hero 4 and H4-3D? I'm not sure if it work with the software? Video is very very awesome and well explained. Ty!!
iftibashir
Mattis Robowski Yes, process should be the same.
Ok perfect.
Thank you!! iftibashir
+iftibashir and wach do i do when i like to take pictures? Does it also send videofeed when i put the gopro in timelapsemode?
I followed all instructions in this video and your Zenmuse Gimbal installation video, and my FatShark FPV goggles are not receiving any video signal from the GoPro. I've tried numerous things like fiddling with the ribbon cable, switching the channel on my goggles, and more. Any ideas?
I am newbie...correct me if i understood something wrong.. I have couple of questions.

iftibashir Thank you for your quick response. it was really helpful.
How would you get the video feed to work on a non zenmuse gimbal? Is there a way to plug directly into the gopro?
So I have one other question - would this exact same step by step process work with a P2 that has a H4-3D Zenmuse gimbal?
+Darrell Hornick - Yes the process and setup are the same.
+Andy Ballard - It should just pick it up and work as long as firmware is updated
+iftibashir What would I need, if I want to use my iPad as a monitor. Would this make it cheaper?
Hi, Did u do any range test? what was the range you achieved with this setup. I have been following few forums regarding FPV. Many say Immersion RC 600mW 5.8gHz transmitter wont work ideally with Black pearl 32 Ch, rather it would work better with 7Ch it seems. IS it true.

thanks for the video, very nice. i have been informed that new Phantoms 2 are coming with new canbus which can't be removed from the landing gear? did you see it and is it true it can't be removed? thanks
Khaled Amr The Compass is encased within the plastic leg, not sure on the canbus....
iftibashir i doubled checked this and canbus is same as previous release. another question, if i use fatshark goggles, what band i need to use, is the same (F Band) as the monitor? thanks
what frequency is the phantom 2 5.8?..you are using 5.8 fpv system as well?..does it work ?..
Hello iftibashir !
I'm new to the DJI Phantom and the setup, and will be shooting a documentary in the summer. We will be using the GoPro Hero Black 4, will this setup of yours work with that camera as well?
- Cheers!
SSFootballComp Yes - it'll work exactly the same so follow the same process as in the video ;o)
Thank you so much for the quick response!! :) Keep up the great work!
Hi Ifti, can you please let me know how is the video delay/lag when you fly with this setup in both open and urban areas, i am trying to decide between this setup and P2V+. thank you
Good stuff! :D

Will this setup work with any Chinese gimbal or it has to be the zenmuse???
I'm new to this, i want to ask how do u transfer the video from the gopro to the transmitter at the first place??
do you have to have the left antenna on the display
Will this be compatible with the newer go pros
Hello iftibashir,
1). after watching this video I don't see what you do with the cambus modual once removed and plugged into the iosd mod, please explain.
2). I've been advised to get the Blk Pearl 32 channel vs. the 7 channel, tho its mentioned in this tread that this isn't the perfect setup, do you have an alternative monitor ??

thank you so much. this is excellent :)
thank you thank you
Hi,
Am I correct in that you don't NEED the isod mini for FPV? Is it just for showing data info for on screen display?
Can this setup work with the base model GoPro hero ? No wifi gopro
I want to enhance my Fpv for greater distances. But want to use my iPhone 6 plus, not a monitor. And I also want to use my dji power egg that came with my phantom 2 vision. Can I do these same things??
With the FATSHARK 5.8GHZ CLOVER LEAF SPIRONET ANTENNAS which is the maximum range??
Can you do this with the stock camera
muy bueno!!!
your the best thank you
Hi iftibashir, I wonder if you could answer my question. It's a great video, but I am slightly confused at 4.40. I understand that I would break my transmitter (and lose £75) if I turn on the phantom without the aerial. But what if I turn on the phantom with a aerial but no gopro? Would it break? +Harry Goodwin - Correct, you would just not get any image on your monitor. It would not cause any damage.
+iftibashir Now, 1.5 years after the upload, I have finally installed FPV! Thanks, dude. You're a legend on the forums
Do they sell an entire kit with all the items needed and also what is the cost?
Afraid not. You may find some sites that do a bundle deal though?
very cool
Please let us know this process without DJI Phantom 2 CAN Module & iosd mini , will it possible? if you have link please share us!
How do you know what band and channel to set it up on? i heard you say band f but why band f? im just curious. im running a zumbacam monitor wit clover antennas and a black mamba 2000mw transmitter. what settings shoud i be using?
Sorry if this question already come up but can I o
This to my phantom 1
Cheers
Hi! First of all, great video! Thanks for sharing with us :)
I just have this question: What did you do with the zenmuse filter force board? Is it not necessary to use? Tks!!
Manoela Pires Do you mean the anti-interference board?
ua-cam.com/video/5hQooE5mLGc/v-deo.html
iftibashir Hi, I am wondering the same thing. What do you do with the anti-interference board when installing the FPV set up, as seen in your video. Thanks!

Hey There, I have the exact setup as you and followed it... My setup half works, the problem being a choppy screen... It is not NTSC/PAL, unsure whats wrong... Help please?
Hii I have dji phantom 1 I want to install fpv This setup can install my phantom or not
Can you do this setup without the ISOD mini?
+Day1 - Yes
i cant get the signal from the transmitter, everything is plugged in but i do have 2 different antennas on my monitor than my transmitter. would that be an issue?

Nicolò Tomasini I wouldn't say its perfect. You do get artefacts and lines down the screen from time to time.
I have all of these items and image would be clear up to 5m I put some fat shark aerials on and works to 16m I can't find any other videos to fix it I have moved all video stuff outside on carbon graphite plate separated all bits then at most I get close to 20m surely I should get better distance then that also I am using a gph4
Hello I have bought the exact components in your videos..
can you please tell what range are you getting with this stuffs?
Marco DellaValle Depends on your antennas - I would really recommend a stronger antenna....

Will it work with cheaper gopro knockoffs?
What is the total cost for this upgrade? Material only
Is there a no way to operate the gimbal while the phantoms in flight🤔🤔🤔🤔
Not with this unit......
Hi Ifti, i am struggling to unscrew the 4 cross heads on each sides, the supplied crew driver is useless, how did you manage to open it. thank you
Khaled Amr I have my own set of driver bits. When unscrewing, dig in deep so you don't risk wiping the screw heads!!
From what I recall, mine weren't very tight anyway, but persevere and you'll get there ;o)
How far can the vtx transmit video?
What make is the hex tool you are using please
How would you make this work with a Chinese gimbal thats already installed with my go pro hero 4? The camera feed doesn't go into the phantom so it won't share the picture, do you need another converter to plug into the fpv cable already installed on the phantom 2?
Hi, this is a great video. Thank you.
- I'm having trouble getting video via my Hero 3 to show on my FPV monitor. I am using:
- Lilliput 664/w 7" IPS Screen 1280x800 5.8ghz Fat Shark Receiver for Hd Fpv Monitor
- Immersion RC 600mw 5.8 GHz A/V Transmitter
- Plug and Play Cable: DJI Phantom 2 to iOSD Mini and Fat Shark/ImmersionRC Transmitter
The channels appear to be configured properly between the Lilliput and the Immersion RC (I've tried all combos). Is the problem that I am using the plug and play cable built to run through the iOSD mini, and yet I don't have an iOSD mini?
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!
Hi, I know this is an old comment, but I’m having the same problem and the same configuration, did you manage to solve it?
thanks!!
