Its easily the best program on British Radio. The podcast version which usually has 30-40mins extra material, regularly wins awards. Out every Friday listen to it you'll enjoy it

My school was used for the choir in that film. I should have been in the film but got done over and ended up as the reserve if someone couldn't make it. Loads of my friends can be seen it it and I'm not. I've been bitter about that for over 25 years. I watched it once at Christmas to confirm my friends were in it, didn't take in what was going on or anything in the film though. That bit when Rowan Atkinson walks into the church to do Holy Goat bit, you see my really good friend Pablo Barclay there wearing glasses standing next to Owain Wilson who is the tall one and was Head-boy at the time.. And later it's easy to notice James Croft with his bright red ginger hair. Stands out very well.

I never snuck into a movie, but the first movie I watched illicitly was actually a Hugh Grant movie, Lair of the White Worm, which I rented from the local video store when I was 15 years old. I still don't know why the clerk didn't stop me, given it was a Ken Russell film and consequently was of course stuffed with wall to wall blasphemy and nun rape. Wow, so this is what R rated movies are like, I thought to myself, until I discovered that no, it was just what Ken Russell films are like.

One of my favourite films with Hugh Grant is Bitter Moon. He was just the perfect actor for that.
He seems like a nice and really witty bloke.
I remember reading in the papers a long time ago he was caught by the police with a prostitute in his car, getting a bj. When asked if he regretted what he did, he said something like "I obviously should've taken her to a proper hotel". I don't know if the story is even true, but that reply was pure awesome.

His most recent films are his best work in my opinion. Where he dosn play Hugh Grant. Like the film where he played a politican and the one with Meryl Streep

Weirdly sneaking into films underage, the only one I saw at the pictures before I should was Bridget Jones Diary (it’s a 15 and I was 14) and I was mere months underage. But I still get IDd at the age of 36 so I’m not bitching.

5:00 about test screenings: I think a big part of the aversion to test screenings is that they are often used by marketing/business people to apply pressure towards making changes to this or that... A weapon to use in order to perhaps try to force the movie in a more crowdpleasing and often more banal direction..
I think that if that aspect of it wasnt there, nobody would mind test screenings... If you can take from it what you will..

What would make viewers enjoy movies MUCH more, is if movies were a little more like real life: where you have to guess if these two people ended up in bed. Nowhere, ever, in real life do you follow people into the bedroom - or the bathroom to watch them poop. I think the movie business knows the bit about the audience not wanting to watch an actor pooping, though, so that one is sorted, thank goodness.
