- Sam Usher studied Engineering Psychology at Tufts University. He is specifically interested in Neuromarketing and Consumer Psychology. His interest in Neuromarketing developed after working at Nielsen
Consumer Neuroscience, a neuromarketing company that uses a variety of neuroscience technologies to analyze the effectiveness of advertising, packaging, in-store elements, and more. Sam is a senior at Tufts majoring in Human Factor Engineering. Sam believes that advertising and marketing affect us every single day, and he thinks it’s important to be aware of the psychology and neuroscience that is being used to target consumers. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
Great talk! Such an interesting subject. Thank you!
I found it engaging. Maybe these other commenters weren't the intended audience
Subtitles please!!!
Anyone that knows a good school (University) where studying Neuromarketing, as a degree, is possible? I have always wanted to study that
Have you found something yet? I am also interested
Not yet I think, its something mixing neuroscience and marketing, there are some certifications for it though, you can search for it online.
You can do clinical psychology masters or pursue phd in clinical psychology. There are a bunch of labs out there with faculty conducting research in this field. Requires quite a bit of research on your own to find these individuals.
@@sophierosenblatt747 thank you!
Timely. In a vacuum 😏
nice
The pepsi ad didnt flop because of the publicity it garnered
spectre bond
Pjjiiko uuiiiiiiiioiooiiiiiio
I loved it !
He was nervous.
Good !
It is not manipulation.....But if you use it in politics then it is?
It's all manipulation. But manipulation isn't always a bad thing... the definition is to handle something with skill.
he did say that everything is manipulation, even his words
the thing is how manipulation is used, for what agendas, in what contexts
How comes the speaker realizies how immoral this kind of manipulation is in elections and propaganda but seems to think its ethical acceptable for influencing or even creating consumer choices?
Because that’s who signs his paychecks, money talks
Because people have to sell and make money. Sad reality.
I didnt like it
is he giving a speech or a poem ? the pepsi worst ad is better than his performance yet and the way giving us the message
Great
Wooo amazing
Explanation/narration is not good ...sorry
bad video, bad sound, bad articulation of words ...?????why this in this context ????
this guy a doofus Pepsi screen captured that image in your mind w that negative emotion cocacola has power over happiness Pepsi vice versa. when the emotion or scene replays it becomes fazed
Great topic but poor presentation
The onerous tea clasically answer because snowflake logically skip under a deep asphalt. hot huge, helpless blade
Really one of the worst Ted presenters I've ever seen. Not at all engaging and poor articulation
It's the content. Not the person
It’s the person, he’s very nervous and still studying what he’s talking about. Felt more like an advertising pitch to top level executives
