I was in the US Air Force from 2002-2008. I was deployed to Manta for about 3 months in 2004. Most of the people there were great, very friendly. But it broke my heart when we'd go downtown and we would see hordes of kids, think under 10 years old, begging us for money on the streets. Then we found out that the parents would basically sell their kids to a "pimp" that would force them to walk the streets and then give whatever money they made to the "pimp". I laughed when you called Manta the stinkiest town you've ever been to. We were stationed at the airport and some locals we were friends with told us that communities didn't have running water. So the village would dig a large trench in the middle of town and that's where they would dump their "waste". It only rained twice while I was there, and when the first one came in, it caused all of the crap and piss to become rehydrated. The smell that came over the base was similar to the inside of a sewer. And there was no escaping it. God it sucked.
There's nothing more discouraging than being in a place that isn't welcoming, especially when you try and be as polite/friendly as possible. Doesn't happen often but it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth. Good on you for keeping spirits up. Safe travels.
@@chrissy9466 I'm not black but I can see with my own eyes how black people are treated in America. You'd have to be ignorant not to see it. Kurt, love the videos, just one thing I'd love to see, when you move between towns do a little map on the side (easy to do with any video editing software) showing your progress through the country, or pay £5 on fiverr to some Indian tech wiz to add it
I think it’s amazing to actually see the difference in friendly and unfriendly cultures… up until this point everybody has been friendly for the most part!
I think Every country has friendly and unfriendly people, im not surprised especially if the people are uneducated or clueless as to why a white man is in their tiny town with a camera in their face lol
That was mainly because that town at the beggining is almost the less tourist place around here, there is nothing going on there like a ghost town, so they live in a sort of bubble.
The amigo that gave him some gas was really friendly. I think the people there are a little bit more reserved in general. Hopefully, Kurt never visits Finland. 😆

God it sucked.
my day just got 100x better. Always a great day when Kurt uploads

There's nothing more discouraging than being in a place that isn't welcoming, especially when you try and be as polite/friendly as possible. Doesn't happen often but it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth. Good on you for keeping spirits up. Safe travels.
@real talk You sir just won 1st place in November's 2021 Oppression Olympics, congratulations!

@@chrissy9466 I'm not black but I can see with my own eyes how black people are treated in America. You'd have to be ignorant not to see it. Kurt complained about how he was treated in that town for a few minutes, and "realtalk" just simply said, "imagine what it's like to be black in america" and you all went off because you don't have the capacity to put yourselves in the black person's shoes for a second. Fuckin' bizarre bunch.

Yeah, Jama is a bit of an odd town. It’s a fishing and agricultural town that is still slowly recovering from the 2016 7.8 earthquake. I’m happy to see you visiting Canoa.
Verdad.. Después del terremoto..
The milk is rotten….takes another sip…
Well done, Kurt - Even with some potentially unfriendly locals, you still carry yourself with class, humbleness and confidence, a true world traveler!
He literally told them to fuck off. Really took the high road… 😆
Class? He drove in a one way street and when they told him he was going the wrong way he says “fuck you”…try that in Germany see what happens…😠
It’s been very wonderful watching you explore many interesting places that one would never realize existed and show how the people still live and do what they can to survive in this world. Thank you and hope this isn’t the end.. my country is Ecuador 🇪🇨 and watching you explore Ecuador is very fascinating, Galapagos and Quito, Manta, Salinas, Playas, so many great places, sorry about my people’s hospitality here and there.. watch out for those thieves, there everywhere… cheers 🥃
Thank you Kurt for giving us such a nice report about Ecuador which I personally can't visit it even in dreams!!!
Podrias viajar , Ecuador es mucho mas economico . Me da pena que algunos se aprovechen del precio . Un desayuno cuesta 1Dollar 50 cents. Y almuerzo 3 dollar, hotel para una noche por 5 dollar ..
"We're fonna get some cookies and a coke and we're gonna get outta here. Fck this place" - LOVE IT.

He need the energy :) rotten was just worded wrong. More sour with bits. Thats just meatier milk :)
Yeah, all wise folk notice the milk is rotten and lumpy, then proclaim "THIS MILK... is... R O T T E N!!!". Of course then, the wisest of sages proceed to drink a larger amount with sugar rings.

One day I'm going to travel like Kurt. Amazing videos! Kurt doesn't need anything super crazy to happen it's entertaining just watching him explore.
I found your chanel by accident and I´m subscribing to it. Your attitude in life brings me joy.
Kurt's most used phrase:
"I think it's potato or something"
"I think it's plantain"
Kurt, love the videos, just one thing I'd love to see, when you move between towns do a little map on the side (easy to do with any video editing software) showing your progress through the country, or pay £5 on fiverr to some Indian tech wiz to add it
I was thinking the same thing!

One thing about some Ecuadorian is that they are quiet compared to other Hispanics.
