    I think its great to finally have a youtuber who is a soft classic, too. Because I feel most of the others kinda leave us out. Convinient, that you also have an ingenue essence as i do. Looking forward to more content :)

    Could you do an updated Soft Classic video? I know a year isn't that long ago, but I feel like I've watched you grow and learn so much and I feel like you could have more to say and add about this, especially since this is your own type. I'm a soft classic too, so I'd really appreciate it! Just an idea, no pressure of course 😅

    I'm a very classic. I'm soft classic and there is no pure classic anymore but I also have a classic essence. People always say I look studious, smart, elite, elegant, etc. I have a hard time experimenting as everything can easily look like too costumy. I hope to see more classics on youtube and more info as we are bombarded with naturals

    Yaaayy! Love soft classic creators and content! As someone who is overweight, I find it a little more difficult to ID my body (I often go back and forth btwn soft classic and soft natural). The things that make me lean more towards soft classic is something I notice when doing my makeup. I find it so hard to pull off a bold eye look + nude lip and/or a bold lip + minimal eye look. It always has to be the same intensity for me or else the look seems incomplete :)

    • @throughcolouredglasses9300
      @throughcolouredglasses9300 Рік тому +6

      Oooh dude I'm overweight too which is why I've struggled to type myself for months, but I found this video so helpful bc she pointed out what features make her NOT be another type. I found this way more helpful than going down the list of what what features you "should" have to be whatever type. I think I'm soft natural now, after assuming I'm FN for a few months but being continually unhappy with how boxy oversize tops make me look like I'm wearing a potato sack. All other features fit, wide necklines or V necks look great, long A-line skirts, wide leg fabric pants, etc. It clicked when in the video she mentioned all these features i share, but then said "the reason I'm not SN is because i lack width in my ribcage" and I was like !!!! I have width in my ribcage!!

    Yes yes yes!! I am a soft classic and I also at first thought I was a theatrical romantic because my hourglass shape can be quite defined in the right clothing.

  • @NadiaBarlow
    @NadiaBarlow 2 роки тому +26

    Omg I think I just figured it out! I thought I was a theatrical romantic from the quiz too, and also because I've always been told I'm soft and delicate. I've also never considered myself to be particularly 'balanced'. In fact, when I saw the classic example as Grace Kelly I automatically disregarded it! But after your breakdown I see it now. I have very similar body shape to you. It also explains why sometimes when I wear something simple people have told me I look amazing - while I thought it was a bit plain. I also intuitively learnt to play with the contrasts and add different elements to maintain the balance, like you said, now I understand why it works. Thank you for this illuminating video!!

    It's exciting to find comprehensive info on soft classic styles! I feel like the classic body type and essence both get neglected. You had so many thoughts I'd never considered before, including how tweaking one minor element looks more noticeable on classics. It also made me feel better about how many things have looked sloppy on me in my life no matter how hard I tried to look nice.

    I also find it interesting too how longer A-line skirts seem to completely camouflage my frame while also being very distracting! Skirts that end mid-calf with less fabric/ a softer drape, are most flattering. I can also quickly feel frumpy in a dress without shape and boxy styles. I will be putting a complete pause to any shopping as I learn more from your channel!

    I've been struggling with eye bags as well, I started doing ice water facials after every hot bath and now my eye bags have gone down so much. I was shocked. I just dunk my face maybe 8 times in a bowl of ice water, hold it for 5 to 10 seconds each time. It even helps get rid of dark coloration.

    I suspect strongly that I’m the same, soft classic! So much of what you talked about rang true, particularly about being easily overwhelmed in oversized or loose cut clothing. I’ve always said I have to be so careful of that or I easily veer into “playing dress up in mom’s clothing” territory!

    Hello! I am a new subscriber and I’m a few videos into your channel so far. I am just absolutely flabbergasted at how much I can completely relate to everything you are saying about being a soft classic. I am just now learning about the Kibbie body types and it seems that I am right here with you as a soft classic. I often find myself going for curvy fit jeans, easily feeling too sexy in dresses or easily lost in figure, and looking rather odd in Sharp edgy pieces and many prints. I want to inject color and interest into my style. I love that you do that! I really look forward to watching more, thank you so much for sharing!

    After switching between sn, sg and the classic family. I finally settled with classic/soft classic (as pure classic isn't really part of kibbe anymore?) I found out symmetrical clothes with minimal details works best for me, monochromatic look also works but there should be waist emphasis, it's better if they fit not oversized or bulky, and the fabric shouldn't be too heavy or light. Since I have an ingenue essence a very corporal look also doesn't work so I have to add little bit of pretty little things so it. After so long, I can finally settle with sc, not that it's definitely my kibbe type since I didn't do an official consultation, but because it's the only thing that really works compared to other body types.

    It’s interesting because as I’ve slowly figured out my own style I have leaned towards these principles based on what I felt looked right on me. I tend to go for simple, not a lot of pattern. I usually have some waist definition and go for rounded necklines.
    I just took the test today and realized I’m a soft classic too. It’s nice to know I was going in the right direction.

    I, like so many others, would love a comparison between theatrical romantic and soft classic. According to the quiz I’m a theatrical romantic but I’m having a hard time recognising the physical difference between the soft classic and theatrical romantic. What does moderate even mean? 😅
    The only thing that makes me think I’m probably a theatrical romantic is that some of what you’re wearing in this video is too heavy for my body. I look like I’m drowning in a coat like that pink one, and the straight jeans (which look amaaazing on you!!) would look bulky on me. As does leather jackets. The soft wrap top would work quite nicely though, especially if the sleeves were a bit shorter and showed off my wrists.

    • @Shyflyingsaucer
      @Shyflyingsaucer 2 роки тому +2

      I'm 100% on the same page with you! There's lots of similarities I see (especially her height and mine are the same), but straight leg jeans look so bad on me, that coat would make me look like I'm wearing my mom's coat, and leather jackets look very...bold on me. I'd personally love a soft classic v theatrical romantic v soft gamine comparison.

    • @Alison-u8k3g

      Same here. My body shape is slightly different, I have bonier or sharper top especially when I lose weight, but my hips are wider, There is 30cm difference between my waist and my hips. Clean sharp and unbroken lines are better suited me with minimal accessories required, yet I’m petite. I want to say I’m dramatic but I don’t have the height, I don’t believe I’m classic because I’m not balanced. I don’t think I’m TR because I can’t wear round shape or soft fabric that often look good on TR.

    Thank you so much for explaining what features on you don't fit other types, 3:58 is when I figured out I must be SN! I have all the features of long limbs, curve in the hips that looks like yours and comes from the bone, head moderate, etc. But I definetely have a wide ribcage and wide shoulders!
    I thought I was FN before because of the wide shoulders and being tall-ish (172cm / 5'7"), but it never seemed to quite fit because some clothing gives me rounder hips and my face is very round and soft. Also half the suggested clothing for FN made me feel bad, especially wide flowy shirts tucked in at the waist.

    Huh, I'm a soft classic too, but kind of in the opposite way than how you are! I have moderation and balanced curve all throughout my torso, waist, and hips, I've got short and round limbs, small and delicate hands, moderate flesh all over, and then broad shoulders that pull to the yang side (which made me think I was DC and quite confused for a long time). Still, the broad shoulders are not enough to counter all the curve and moderation in the rest of my body (and no openness in my chest or ribcage/upper back that defines kibbe width, despite the broad shoulders). And to confirm that I am soft classic and not soft natural, soft natural lines kind of overwhelm me and/or make me look kind of disheveled, while soft classic suits me just right

I find it so hard to find party dresses they look too clingy or a bit over the top I guess this would explain it! Off to txmaxx to find dresses to honour my line…. One last thing though. I suit oversized shirts and jumpers if I do skinny jeans or leggings. Is it the round top and straight leg that kind honours my top heavy shape? Is that a soft classic thing?

    I think you could trim the end of the pink coat to make a belt, that way you could get that waist emphasis

    This is a useful video. However, after days of researching and taking multiple quizzes. I always end up with Soft Classic. This seems to make sense as I have a slight curve, balanced bust, waist and hips as well as soft flesh. But most soft classics I find have moderate to longer limbs while my limbs are relatively short, my shoulders are very narrow, rounded and sloped. This has me so confused! Can you give me some advice?

    I got soft classic on the test and this is confirming for me that i'm most probably not actually a soft classic 😅 back to the drawing board where I shall continue to not be able to accurately perceive my own body

    Korean girls are very soft classic, but with a little funny and original twist. It can be wearing sport shoes, very casual, for instance.

    I’m having such a hard time deciding if I’m a dramatic or soft classic. I think I’m close to the middle. If I gain weight, it all goes to waist and low back (not hips, apple body) Face will get
    fleshy, but rest of body stays pretty solid, even at my heaviest.

    What brand are those soft trousers?? Finding trousers that don't cling too much or have the right amount of give, while still having the buttons and pockets, is a challenge

    I thought I was a Romantic for so long until recently someone suggested I look into Soft Classic. My mind was blown watching this video. So much of your frame is similar to mine, its so obvious that I'm a soft classic! Thanks for sharing, I'm looking forward to revamping my wardrobe with this in mind

    I know this is old so you probably wont notice this comment, but I really think you are gamine! I'm a soft classic and right away the proportions and facial features are much different. your eyes especially lean much more yin. Just Something to consider thank you for your content :)

      She is not a gamine. She has no boyishness. She is just soft and classic. She would not look good in gamine clothes or a pixie cut and her face does not remind of pixies. Instead she has a moderate soft build with a lot of yin but not curvy so it leans to classic, she would look good in elegant girlish clothing always and she is a soft classic.

      Agree with you,I think ahe is a soft gamine, and, not all gamines are boyish or childish, many gamines have mature faces too.

    Will Soft Classics still look nice if they wear tops like blouses that are untucked when they wear them with skirts, shorts or trousers? How about peasant blouses, tunic or kaftan tops that I think are kind of Bohemian, will they look okay on Soft Classics or not? Thank you very much in advance.

    This might be a weird question, but do perfumes matter based off of your body type? For example, I am a soft classic with a romantic essence. Does that mean I should choose elegant and romantic perfumes, or does it not matter?

    Hi, Ellie-Jean! I think I am a mixture of soft classic (after the Kibbe - Test) and romantic (tall 5 ft 7", narrow hands and feet, feet 5 1/2(arms are 4 cm longer than average, a tailor said to me), even shoulders, but exotic face features: full lips, big nose, and a defined waist 95 - 70 - 95). I am more Ava Gardner than Grace Kelly. Does such a mixture exist? Thank you for an answer. Love from Germany ❤

  • @chrissy9876

    I have done the test several times and had people give their opinion (like my family). I got mostly C’s in the bone structure part of the test but D & E dominant answers in the other 2 parts of the test. I have longer arms but VERY short legs. But all of these things say that your arms and legs should be longer but I don’t. I’m so confused on all this. Would you think I’m a soft classic with these answers? I have 4C’s in the first section, and 4 D’s in the last section, with 3 E’s in the middle section of the test.
