Well done Kara! My opinion is that the NT1 is no longer a super “ brite mic ” and is useable for the genre presented. But I did as a consumer want to hear a lil mo sizzle aka air
The NT1 one was my first condenser microphone. I made a lot of great records with that. Got my first radio placement using that mic in my bedroom. I've since moved on the mini other mics that get me a lot closer to finished with less work. And that old-school NT1 was stolen out of my car many years ago. I may check out one of these GEN 5 NT1's, but I've got so many mics, when does it stop really?
Great performance. but the syn snare is a bit to present at 150-350hz, and overcast the vocal at several parts.. The mic also sounds really great in this context.. Well done!!!
Wow! Wish I had all of your knowledge on recording. I have so much I want to record but I get scared to try it out because of how complex it is. Thanks for the video!
@@ItsThatJahncke2 you can run it thru plugins that simulate them. They can do alot but not change the original audio, so saying the post process is what making it good is just false.
@@PutBarny it does make a difference. You have to put more money into ensuring the best performance with your mics. I hook my mics through a 3.5k microphone preamp system that's incredible and yes it does make a difference if you plan on plugging your mic into a $150 audio interface
I’m under the impression that a lot of the takes was with her go to mic and this is a paid video so she’s deceiving us making it seem as this whole session was done using entirely with the Rode
@@boutstaxx naw, not at all. I can still tell it's not a high end mic when listening closely but it sounds great at that price. Does it sound better than a Rode NT1 usually does? For sure, but I think that's due to her chain, mixing and great takes, but you can tell it's not as open or have the bottom end of a higher end mic, but it represents the vocals well and doesn't have any obvious flaws that are holding it back. I think it's a great buy for an artist trying to start.
I have the same hardware setup and trust me , it makes almost every mic sound great , all the mics I have sound great thru it even my cheapest mic MXL990 $99 mic sounds great thru it
I’m curious how this NT1 is different from the 4th and 5th gen versions. It’s priced as if it has the 5th-gen/NT1-A capsule, which makes me think it’s a little brighter and sharper than the 4th-gen NT1. Perhaps Røde is trying to move closer to a more present, pop-vocal-like high end, or maybe trying to make the NT1 more like a TLM-102 or 103?
you are soo beautiful and intelligent , you have been my greatest inspiration , its been three month since i found and ur tutorials have really changed my mixing skills my works sound much more better , i would love u to share how and when u started this music journey. Really want to know you more
@@cypressmuzik Gotcha, so it's a mic for 160 going through a pre that's 3k and a compressor that's 4 to 6k with all the other high end gear. Just seems a little off for the intended market. Cool performance though!
This was a professional “microphone test.” Yes, everything is easy and smooth when someone has a voice like that. I could do this too, but I don't have such a nice voice...😂 So a good microphone is not enough.
Just goes to show once you go around or above $200 the mics are so good these days that once you mix a song the differences will be so minuscule that its irrelevant.
How can I collaborate with you on music I need a singer for a track I have I do rap music is they a email where I can reach out I’m not looking for no free hook up I respect your business Thank you for any feedback you give me
this isn't an accurate representation of the microphone, simply because of all of the outboard gear. I feel most of the audience for this microphone is aimed at people with just interfaces so it's quite misleading when rode pays people with all this gear to review their equipment.
True, but with today's interfaces , DAW capacities and VSTI emulations of preamps and compressors . You can achieve good results too. Room treatment and acoustics? That's another story.
I’m under the impression that a lot of the takes was with her go to mic and this is a paid video so she’s deceiving us making it seem as this whole session was done using entirely with the Rode
I hope you enjoyed my vocal session with the Rode NT1 🎤 Links to purchase this microphone in description 👏🏻
Yeh I really enjoyed your video and testing and recording with the NT1 and that song and voice is amazing 🤩 where can we get this song?
Thanks for sharing this. 🙏🏽
You make it really sound like a professional studio mic. Really considering this one now.

Nice you sound amazing!!🎉🎉🎉
The vox are incredible... Will these be in a song?
Proof that experience can make up over expensive
this tbh. Many big artists making bankers with cheap and small setups
Well.. the stuff she is running that mic through is way more expensive than the mic itself. I hook my cheap mic through 5k worth of equipment lol

Don’t forget this high end treated room and the 1073 + CL1B. This + an awesome trained voice like hers, you could use your IPhone to record

Please can you send link of the mic stand you are using
