    Thank you so much for making this. I bought the NT1 as my first studio microphone. I can't afford anything more fancy at the moment, but want to make my own music and produce it as best I can. Yours is the first video that really explains how each plugin and step alters the sound and lets it sit in the mix. I've tried it on a track with some distorted guitar and it sits in the mix perfectly.

    Thank you . I really liked this video . The video made it easy to understand plug ins . I’ve had logic for a year now and I still don’t know every aspect / features. I try recording my voice with the nt1-a but I ended up not liking my voice . However I will keep the nt1-A for acoustic guitar recordings. And I’ll buy the 4th gen nt1 for vocal because of its flat response. Truly thank you . Stopping by guitar center tomorrow hopefully they have it in stock .

      You’re very welcome! Thank YOU for leaving a comment 😊 Even though the Rode Shock-mount is great and very effective, I found it to be a bit too big to be on camera. It would take a big chunk of the camera shot so I just bought a standard shock-mount on Amazon for talking head videos like this one.

    Hey 👋🏻 Wanna ask you something...I have a Apollo Solo and I want to connect 2 headphones to it for tracking vocals of my artist, and there is only 1 headphone connection on the interface and I don't have monitors...
    Is it possible to do that please let me know.... thank you

      I believe the solo only has 1 headphone amplifier on the front. You might want to try to plug the second headphones using one of the outputs on the back but it might only come through either the left or right unfortunately.

    My mic is the ecm87 and is meant to sound similar to this mic if not identical. My mics dry take sounds nothing like this level of clarity someone please help me. even with an EQ this dry take examples in this video sound way clearer than mine. I think my audio interface is busted however when I press the monitoring on my scarlet audio interface I can hear my self on top of the logic monitoring and the monitoring from the audio interface sounds 100 times cleaner than when I turn the logic monitoring on. Someone please help

    • @homestudioacademy
      @homestudioacademy  7 місяців тому

      You can definitely apply these principles to your mic and adjust accordingly. In regards to your audio interface being busted, I don’t think it’s the case because you’re saying it sounds cleaner than the playback from Logic Pro. In which case, I would mute your vocal track in Logic Pro and just use the direct monitoring from your interface to hear yourself as you record. Also, if you feel like your mic is not sounding clear, here are a couple of things to consider:
      1. Make sure you’re turning on phantom power (48v) on your Scarlett to power your mic since it’s a condenser mic.
      2. Ensure your recording at a healthy gain level (-18db to -10db): meters should be lighting green and at most peaking at yellow to ensure the mic doesn’t clip.
      3. Get good mic placement. Avoid recording right up against a corner or wall to avoid bass build up and reflections.
      Hope this helps! 😊

    I'm honestly thinking about moving to a new mic. It seems the Nt1a has a significant bump in frequency in the 5-10kHz range which is almost uncontrollable. It's so sharp and aggressive on pretty much every singer I've used it with. I can even hear it in your dialog in this video. The syblance is crazy aggressive. My de-esser can't even manage it without the entire track sounding crushed. I'm not sure why they've done this. Maybe to try to give the vocals shine, but it doesn't, it's just harsh and annoying. If you listen to professional mixes, none of them have this high end boost.

    • @homestudioacademy
      @homestudioacademy  4 місяці тому

      @@geneleoneii3013 I’ve always preferred the NT1 4th Generation because of its flatter frequency response which compliments most voices without sounding harsh as the NT1A
