I've done something similar when the nozzle slipped out of the filling hole and I sprayed petrol over the bike and my crotch, though I managed to turn the thing off straight away.

Mototurtle was not one of them; it just goes to show that life is not at all fair and that we as riders must do everything we can to protect ourselves. Wear your gear. Ride defensively. You always have to be safe on motorcycles obviously. I had two family members died which were both brothers within a week on their motorcycles one in the rain in another going around to turn... Gone forever!Please be safe and ride safely not only that watch your surroundings because other people are stupid!

This literally happened right outside my work on the Causeway. Such a shame especially being such a young lad, thoughts are with his family and friends.

Very sad to see this, location of the incident looks fairly innocuous? 30mph, no junction,straight bit of road, id be 100% sure this is no fault of the young lad on the bike and more likely a sleepy 69 year old lorry driver, goes to show that even in a built up urban environment us bikers are so vulnerable, ride safe and thanks to Handmuff for highlighting this, i am sure it has helped with funds for the kids funeral, gutted for his family and friends.
knoxieman police identified that no one was at fault and it purely was an accident, he unfortunately hit the back bar of the lorry as it swung round from the turn it made onto the main road
