Public transportation, and even the town I live in has bus services elderly use to ride around and do grocery shopping in. Hell, you can even order your groceries directly to your door now. 5:00 is a perfect example of how it helps to be calm even when the situation is terrible. Front doors weren't working, probably jammed if the front of the car was pushed back into the doors, and the girl panicked. Bystanders couldn't open the back doors and first instinct was to break the windows. Eventually the solution was that the girl inside needed to calm down enough to unlock the back doors and get out.
It’s pretty easy to tell someone that they need to remain calm, but it’s not that easy to manually pull yourself out of shock either. How arrogant and self centered do you have to be to sit safely on your couch behind your phone, and judge how clearly someone who just got in a car wreck is thinking? Common sense isn’t always there for some people (that applies to you by the way). You are one person. What you think, how you handle things, it doesn’t matter. Not everyone is like you. And that doesn’t make them stupid either. When something like this happens a physiological response is triggered. Physiological, NOT psychological. That means that in a lot of cases they AREN’T thinking, they’re on autopilot. Honestly, come on 😂
@@rlynn8249 I'm more pointing it out for anyone that watches this or reads this comment than the actual people in the video. Just a reminder that if someone is in a similar situation that trying to stay calm will help them. Similar to the whole mythbusters thing with a sinking car, they showed that on mythbusters and it's probably saved the lives of multiple people because when they got into the same situation they didn't panic and were able to escape. This is a good example of how even in a regular car crash it's easy for what is happening to overwhelm someone and they miss what could be a simple solution to a problem. You are correct in that this is actually a common response to a stressful situation for people. My point is that just because it's a common response and understandable, that doesn't mean that this is what you should do in this situation. But like you point out once you are in shock and panicking it's not easy to go back to being calm.
Motorcyclists are the best people that exist, thanks to them there is hope for humanity, I hope that any future motorcyclist is good... God bless you and I send you a biker hug from Argentina 🇦🇷🤝

With the clip of the people getting the back tires to touch, it’s not a bad idea, if you ever went off-roading you know how to do the “bounce” technique lol, get the momentum going up and down then the driver backs up when he feels his tires touch
just because the lights show up on a dashboard it doesnt mean its not the battery because it can have power to show the lights on dashboard and that but at the same time it might not have enough power to actually start the engine

if your battery dies WHILE you drive... it's your alternator thats shot! The battery should only be there to start the car. you could unplug it after that and the car will run fine. Your alternator provides the power once the car is started. If the battery dies while driving, it means the alternator doesn't work, and you were running everything off the battery... until the battery wouldn't battery anymore.
Most likely yes, but might be many other problem like aux belt broken/felt off, cables fuses or ground issues (power cables or newer cars have communication ECU to alternator which if it's not communicating it won't charge) or too much current taken from your system so alternator can't keep up with charging (most likely by some extra accesories because OEM things in car usually are designed to shut down or reduce power if they exceed alternator limit, let's say in one car I had heated windshield, heated back window, heated seats, extra OEM internal PTC heating and if I put everithing on on idle it stop to use PTC heating and only when driving when it's full alternator power avaliable because voltage drop was too big). But battery can also be an issue if cells in battery having short circuit and extremally bad. Most likely combined with charging system as above.
@@oluskloc you are right. But the point is if the battery dies while you are driving, replacing the battery has very little chance of solving the issue. I should probably have said you have another electrical issue (as well as a dead battery now)
8:05 alternator is dead. If your car is running and then it dies because the battery went dead, then it's always the alternator. Once the car has started, you can pull the battery out and it will still run if you have a good alternator. (For those of you who want to argue semantics, yes, I understand it's more complicated than simply pulling the battery, but my point still stands). Also, she said it's a brand new battery, which means she's been having this problem and has been misdiagnosing it for a little while. It doesn't matter how new the battery is, if the alternator is not charging the battery and running all the electronics in the car, then you will run down that battery in less than a half hour.
I was in an accident in the middle of nowhere in Wisconsin, the only person who stopped to see if I was okay was a biker….i was passed by two cars and an ambulance they just smiled and waved. I felt bad that the biker felt like he needed to ask if it was okay for him to stop and help. I felt very safe and would take him stopping any day of the week.
I love that on the sloth part it was a Brazilian guy and as a portuguese speaker I could understand everything and I was laughing so much of how much he was joking.

A lot of the times pleople you do never expect to be kind suprise you, I noticed that also, I'm 64 (and not very stabel) and some people complaining about the youth while they (adults, even with children in the backseat!) continue driving at a crossing path while young drivers stop so you can cross!! 8:05. If it’s a brand new battery, chances are it’s not dead. Just developed corrosion due to either a loose connector or there was already corrosion from the previous battery. Has happened to me twice on the trail on my atv, and my connections were tight! I always have the NOCO battery terminal cleaning kit with me, but anything that can scuff up the metal (almost anything will, it’s most likely made of Lead) will allow the power to flow properly through metal-metal contact.
If its a brand new batter, check the terminals because sometimes the man cub in the shop forgot to tighten them enough or knocked another wire loose while installing it. Could also be an issue where the battery is shorting to frame causing a continuous draw to trickle out into ground. (AKA wiring issue, which can be a nightmare.)
I can't lie I was kinda worried for the elderly lady to be driving as she seemed a little unsteady on her feet there. Props to the rider, hope she made it safely to wherever she had to go!
If you find yourself in a situation where you need to break the window to escape from a vehicle then either squeeze the plastic clip together which will allow you to remove the head rest and use the metal bars of it to break the glass or pull out a load of excess seat belt and then use the metal of the belt buckle to smash the glass .also go for the corners where the glass is supported more rigidly not the central area. Be sure to scrape all around the opening with something rather than climbing over glass fragments in the window frame. Don't waste time trying this on the front or rear windscreen ,they're laminated and far to heavy duty for these methods to work .
the accident biker at 5:00 really examples how to jsut think, just think, just problem solve, dont start try kicking out windows, jsut think about solutions to the problem, thats what this guy did, just apply a little problem solving

Most likely yes, but might be many other problem like aux belt broken/felt off, cables fuses or ground issues (power cables or newer cars have communication ECU to alternator which if it's not communicating it won't charge) or too much current taken from your system so alternator can't keep up with charging (most likely by some extra accesories because OEM things in car usually are designed to shut down or reduce power if they exceed alternator limit, let's say in one car I had heated windshield, heated back window, heated seats, extra OEM internal PTC heating and if I put everithing on on idle it stop to use PTC heating and only when driving when it's full alternator power avaliable because voltage drop was too big).
But battery can also be an issue if cells in battery having short circuit and extremally bad. Most likely combined with charging system as above.
@@oluskloc you are right. But the point is if the battery dies while you are driving, replacing the battery has very little chance of solving the issue. I should probably have said you have another electrical issue (as well as a dead battery now)

If your car is running and then it dies because the battery went dead, then it's always the alternator. Once the car has started, you can pull the battery out and it will still run if you have a good alternator. (For those of you who want to argue semantics, yes, I understand it's more complicated than simply pulling the battery, but my point still stands). Also, she said it's a brand new battery, which means she's been having this problem and has been misdiagnosing it for a little while. It doesn't matter how new the battery is, if the alternator is not charging the battery and running all the electronics in the car, then you will run down that battery in less than a half hour.

I was in an accident in the middle of nowhere in Wisconsin, the only person who stopped to see if I was okay was a biker….i was passed by two cars and an ambulance they just smiled and waved. I felt bad that the biker felt like he needed to ask if it was okay for him to stop and help. I felt very safe and would take him stopping any day of the week.
The ambulance not stopping or at least calling it in if they were already on a call is crazy.

A lot of the times pleople you do never expect to be kind suprise you, I noticed that also, I'm 64 (and not very stabel) and some people complaining about the youth while they (adults, even with children in the backseat!) continue driving at a crossing path while young drivers stop so you can cross!! And people who do not fit in one of the 'boxes' set by society are kinder than those who do fit a 'box'!!! I like people who are different very much because I do not wanna fit in 'a box' neither!! 8:05. If it’s a brand new battery, chances are it’s not dead. Just developed corrosion due to either a loose connector or there was already corrosion from the previous battery. Has happened to me twice on the trail on my atv, and my connections were tight! I always have the NOCO battery terminal cleaning kit with me, but anything that can scuff up the metal (almost anything will, it’s most likely made of Lead) will allow the power to flow properly through metal-metal contact.

If its a brand new batter, check the terminals because sometimes the man cub in the shop forgot to tighten them enough or knocked another wire loose while installing it. Could also be an issue where the battery is shorting to frame causing a continuous draw to trickle out into ground. (AKA wiring issue, which can be a nightmare.)
I can't lie I was kinda worried for the elderly lady to be driving as she seemed a little unsteady on her feet there. Props to the rider, hope she made it safely to wherever she had to go!

If you find yourself in a situation where you need to break the window to escape from a vehicle then either squeeze the plastic clip together which will allow you to remove the head rest and use the metal bars of it to break the glass or pull out a load of excess seat belt and then use the metal of the belt buckle to smash the glass .also go for the corners where the glass is supported more rigidly not the central area. Be sure to scrape all around the opening with something rather than climbing over glass fragments in the window frame. Don't waste time trying this on the front or rear windscreen ,they're laminated and far to heavy duty for these methods to work .
