Thank you for your honesty and vulnerability. The sharing you do on this channel is extraordinary! It’s something I could never do. Thank you for being brave and for your encouragement!!! ❤
You were my inspiration in so many ways. I have commented my journey on your videos. I was on the fence for buzzing my hair and saw your videos on it and took the plunge. My husband actually likes it better than how it looked after taking off a wig. He actually rubs my head first luck now every morning. Thank you.
Thank you, I started losing my hair in 1980 I was 17teen years old,it was sad and I cried a lot and it was so hard going out with thin balding hair. I know wear hats and sometimes wigs .I’m so happy to see others who understand what we are going through .You are brave and beautiful! You are helping so many people dealing with hair loss. Thank you so much!!
🎉🎉🎉Please remember we are all in this journey together. You are so precious to all your wig sisters. Thank you for sharing your struggles with us. Thank you for encouragement ❤
Hi, Denise. I want to thank you so much for letting us in to your personal feelings - especially the tough ones. I lost my hair from chemo and it's now growing back. I can identify with the baldness and the anxiety and defeatedness related to that. However, I cannot imagine living with the idea that the hair might never come back. My heart goes out to you and those you are helping through this. You are all truly warriors. 🫂
Your honesty and vulnerability is so comforting to many of us. I work outdoors and for years drove a delivery truck (mail) with no air conditioning. There was no wig cool enough in the summer. Customers got used to seeing me in scarves/bandanas. You should be comfortable first and foremost.
Thanks for your openess and honesty. God is using you sister. Sometimes i just don't want to deal with any of it. I have pretty wigs, but at times i like to just put on a hat and go.
Hi Denise, firstly your hair right now looks like mine! I had a full head of long curly red hair until about 6 weeks ago and now I look like your twin thanks to alopecia areata. Several friends said I should just shave my head but since I still had some hair I didn't want to do that, and eventually just cut it short. I totally understand what you're saying in this video, I've had a lot of blue-sy moments when I look in a mirror. You are terrific and have helped so many of us, thank you for sharing your journey. Hopefully the "fun" you're having with the Big M will pass and you'll be back to normal soon. Here's a thought for a video: get a topper, take the combs out, and see if you can wear it with just It Stays or Got2B gel -- even if it doesn't work it would be fun to watch you try. Hugs...
I've tried removing the clips out of a topper from Raquel Welch, and it wouldn't lay flat. I tried & tried. The lace front buckled even though I used plenty of IT STAYS. When I called the seller, I was told the piece was made to clip in, not glued. 🤷🏼♀️
Great video, you are such an amazing lady. The Lord has really blessed you with a way to help others. I’m the same age and going through a similar situation and it’s tough. Thank you for encouraging words ❤
You are such an inspiration Denise. I have taken my first steps now and am “wearing” at work. Your videos have helped me more than words can say. Thank you.
This video brought tears to my eyes. I immediately prayed for you. I’m sorry you’re struggling right now. This showed me that this isn’t a business for you, it’s your mission! I am a recent widow and on top of that, I struggle with hair loss, so I’m a new fan of your site. Thank you and God bless you!
Thank you for sharing your dilemma with us. It's good for us to know from you that sometimes it's not all clear sailing on the wig journey. I think you look really cute in a head scarf. I hope you can find something no-fuss that works for you without having to go back to spray on hair" because I watched a past video of yours where you mentioned that you found it a real hassle. And messy. Like you, I am at an in-between stage of hair regrowth and have been finding a most of my wigs uncomfortable and I have recently have been experimenting with wearing either nothing or knit cotton beanies and stretchy cotton knit headbands during the day when I'm at home. I find that the stretchy headbands work best for me when heat retention is a factor, rather than a full beanie, although they run a close second for breathability and comfort. I often put on a wig just for dinner with hubs and take it off again for the evening. Also, recently I was fortunate to be able to buy a light weight hand-tied short length wig that I can wear for an extended period. Maybe you could try a shorter lighter wig to see if it's more tolerable?
I'm right there with you! I've been wearing hats and bandanas while trying to grow out my bio hair. I like the idea of toppers because hopefully that would be cooler than wigs. Praying for all who are dealing w hair issues! And I really appreciate your videos and how freely you share your heart with us! Thank you! God bless you Wig Sister!
You were an inspiration to me when I first started. I’m about 6 months into my journey and considering buzzing my own hair at this point. Thank you for everything you do for us. You’re very appreciated.
Denise, you are just SOOO genuine! You may never know how many 1000s of women you help with your real-life videos! So sorry you’re dealing with health challenges!! And I too have days where I just don’t want to wear hair, so I wear ball caps and Snuggie caps like the one you have in this video. It’s all part of the journey!
Thank you for being real. I'd rather stay home than go out. After watching your videos I went out and bought my first week. Everyone around me is always giving compliments. After you buzzed your hair I finally decided to cut my hair short, boy short as my husband calls it. I'm happy with it. Still learning and getting comfortable with my wig after 2 years. I'm glad you are there for me, for us. Take care of yourself.❤
Menopause is like having Madame Pele decide to reside in your belly, I swear. I have super thick hair. I was on a med for a period of time that caused major hair loss, so I took the oppty to buzz my head, enjoy wigs for the interim, and let my natural silver prevail when my hair started to grow back. I learned a bunch. I discovered that I had really used my previously thick and curly, long hair to hide behind. I had to work harder on my skin, wardrobe and makeup, which I'd really been slacking on. I found out that I have my mother's glorious mostly silver with pepper hair now, AND that I'm not ready to be silver yet. And I found out that I do better with a wig for my hot flashes, for me. My head is always going to sweat, but my wigs dont turn into a sopping wild pile of friz with my 10x a day flashes. I've grown my hair out to about 4" so I can get a thinned out super short and shaggy cut that will accomodate blendable hair on my hairline but I'm going to stay near buzz short and keep on wigging until my thermostat resets. Wigs are saving my sanity.
I admire our newscaster who has alopecia and she wears no covering just her true self and is so confident. This is how we all should be to not worry about our hairloss and go on with life..
Thank you so much for sharing your story & all of your videos. I have alopecia and lost the majority of my hair at the end of May and decided to shave it all off. It actually was quite freeing. I have now lost the majority of both eyebrows and eyelashes and for me, that was emotionally harder but I continue to wake up every day and do my best to try and stay positive. I’ve been watching your videos for quite some time and they were so extremely helpful in deciding on a wig bc it is NOT an easy task when you have no idea what you are doing. 😂 On another note, Idk if your body temp has anything to do with the life change but mine did & I was struggling to keep my wig on. I went to my obgyn and she put me on HRT. It’s been a lifesaver. No more hot flashes or night sweats. Keep forging ahead sweet wig sister, thank you for all the videos and may God bless you u ❤🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I didn’t know about the clipless toppers. I wore a topper for 7 years back in the 00s and have permanent scars from them rubbing on my scalp. Stay strong, Denise! ❤
I lost every hair on my head due to cutaneous lupus… it is devastating. It took me a long time to wear a wig but I’ve come through it…and have accepted it. Your videos have helped me through it Denise! I❤ you
Thank you my friend, you're still in my prayers. Yes I watched this I was thinking back to when I first started with my wigs. How I was so afraid to leave the house. So scared somebody would think my hair looks fake. It's nice knowing that that part don't have to wait. When I'm at home, I just go with my buzzed head. Nobody seems to care. It's kind of cool, because I always ask my grandkids if they want my hair on or off I'm going to wear. God bless you. I was watching you at your very beginning. Have always thought of you as my friend and wig sister❤❤❤
I used a product called Dermmatch for years and it worked beautifully. You have to have enough hair for the powder to stick to but your hair can be very thin and it still work. My hair finally got so sparse though it just looked like my scalp was powdered so I went to toppers. Toppers are more comfortable to me because there is nothing on the back of the head to cause pressure, and that is my struggle point. But toppers also felt less secure and gradually I got tired of dealing with them (got to match your hair and they can slip easily) and just wanted to try wigs. I buzz my hair, inspired by you Denise, and I really like doing that. It feels really good to get that thin stringy hair off my head! But I get what you are saying totally! There are just days when the wigs aren't comfortable, but other days when I don't even feel them on my head. I'm not sure why each day can be different like that though. You always are the most empathetic and caring reviewer, I appreciate you so much!
You are so inspiring! I wore toppers for a while and they were more comfortable for me when having hot flashes. Now I do wigs 100% of the time and buzz my hair (because of your videos giving me the courage, and I love it!). Even so, I'd love to learn more about toppers that don't require clips. Whatever you decide to do, thanks for sharing and being real. You make me feel less alone in this, and I appreciate you so much! Hope your health issues resolve and you feel better soon.
As always thank you for your work! So sorry for the health challenges you are dealing with. I think your idea to try a clip less topper is a good one. It is worth a shot. I wore a clip in pixie topper for years. I didn’t know that the clips could cause traction alopecia when clipped into the thinning part of your hair. They did indeed do this and made my situation much worse. Wish I had known this. But I found toppers to be lighter, more realistic looking and easier to wear hats with than wigs, so a clip less topper could be a good choice. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
Please share what you learn about toppers and the new wig bands that have a silicone cord on the sides and back. That looks very promising. It looks like you and I still have enough hair volume on the back of our heads to grow it out and pull off wearing toppers.
I am curious about clipless toppers, too. I have very thin hair on my crown, it's not to bad on the sides and back. The clip less toppers I have found are ridiculously expensive, though! If you find some reasonably priced, please share! ❤
I have a problem with itching around the back edges. Do you have any suggestions. Especially on Raquel Welch wigs. I love your honesty hope your health issues improve soon.
So much care and blessings to you Denise 💕 I am getting my hair cut tomorrow because the mismatch of thinned top and a little more hair on bottom half of head looks crazy and chemical damage/ autoimmune issues have made my hair completely not able to accept styling. But I’m worried to lose the “nub” pony at the base of my nape, to help with wearing wigs. I ordered some 1950’s 1960’s Starlet type of Turbans for days when I dont feel like wearing a wig. I like the old glamour vibe, even with my jeans. Take Care, Heather xo 🥰I’ve subscribed to you since your very early days 🥰 you’re beautiful inside and out!
Amen! I was fighting my hair loss with minoxidil and harsh finasteride and both were causing severe weight gain, liver problems, heart problems etc and yet it barely helped my hair and it was a pain the the backside to foam my head twice a day and still look lile crap, and pnce I decided no more lousy treatment I felt more calm and free. Sure, what little hair I gained back with the meds will shortly fall off and hair loss resume but, it wasn't looking good anyway. Any over head lighting in public buildings and my whole scalp was visible. I mean, all that work with meds morning and night, topicalnand oral and still having to feel I needed to cover my head up, the what's the point? To keep a few strands of hair on an over all still mostly bald head?? And at the cost of my health due to all the side effects. No, if I am going to medicate myself into becoming sick and still have awful looking hair then I might as well wave goodbye to it and regain a healthy weight and a healthy body that's not bloated with salt and water retention with edema as a result, or liver damage with insulin resistance and develop type 2 diabetes thanks to long term finasteride use. Now that I have chosen my health over afew strands of hair I feel more free. No longer having to fight it and still be disappointed with the poor results. Now I am waiting for the hair to fall back out again so I can buzz it short and just be done with it. For at home I'll get some caps/hats to wear unless I can find a comfy wig that I can chill in. One that I don't need to worry about tangles etc, so a regular synthetic is probably more ideal for that. The main thing is that i no longer have to spend every minute of the day and night to think about trying to save it. I'm free. Now I can spend time looking for better and more fitting wigs instead and focus on improving my health instead of sacrificing it for the little hair thats left
I’m with you Denise. My health issues and medication make me hot all year round. To the point I hate putting jeans on. I just want to wear shorts and t shirts everyday. Good thing I work from home! I have been wearing wigs for 3yrs now and sometimes I don’t want to mess with them either. My bio hair is long but super thin especially the front and crown. I can’t bring myself to buzz it off even though I think about it a lot. When I’m not going anywhere I just throw my thin hair in a ponytail but would never wear it like that out of my house. I have been watching you for a while. I like to binge watch. I bought a sapphire head band wig. I cut a whole weft out like you did but it’s still too thick for a messy bun. I also cut my hand doing it. I have a hard time keeping it secure in the back. The comb doesn’t grab my hair . Any way I just wanted to tell you what an inspiration you are. I love your videos! Lots of great information! Thanks for all you do for us wig sisters. You’re the best!
Thank you Denise for sharing. You mean the world to me and I appreciate you. I usually buzz my hair and I haven’t in about 4 months and I’m also trying to decide if I want to buzz or not. We shall see.
Sounds like we are in the same boat right now!! After seeing my hair on video (it just hits different than in the mirror) I think I may be living a pipe dream that there is any topper that could ever work for me, lol. The hairloss is WAY more profound now than it was 6 years ago... oh well! At least we have wigs when we need them! I am hoping I become a cold old lady someday because being hot all the time is the pits, lol.
The struggle is so real for me right now. I dont even know what to do. I have wigs, I think they all look ugly on me. I also like the freedom of not having anything on my head. Its hot and itchy and makes me crazy. You're incredibly brave.🫶
I was having my hair coming out in clumps whenever I washed it, Then I upped my vitamin D. That stopped it coming out in clumps. But, it's still thinning slowly on the top and back. I wear wigs when I'm leaving the house. Not in the house because it's just me and the cat. Thank you for your videos. God Bless you. ❤
I'm so glad that the clumps stopped, at least!! I'm with you on no wig in the house! Sometimes I'll throw a wig on and some makeup on (if I'm not filming that day) just before my husband comes home, but always have to take it off as soon as he is settled because I absolutely cannot cook with one on as I get way too hot!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We get it. It’s not easy. Sometimes we feel better than others times. But we do have beautiful wigs these days. (I think back to my poor Grandmother. ) And I have to tell you that you are indeed beautiful hair or no hair.
Thank you for sharing your soft underbelly with us, Denise. You have and continue to help so many of us! Firstly, your hot flashes and other changes will pass. I had a horrendous menopause, but by the Grace of God, I made it through -- it was that bad. I am in my early 60s now, and feel fantastic, post menopause. Every so often, I will get a hot flash, but very few and far between and nothing like the ones I used to get. As to HL, mine has accelerated to point that it is referred to as extremely "advanced" HL. Mine, too, started in my 20s, very slowly. By the time I reached my early 40s, I knew the writing was on the wall, even though I could still get away with it, albeit with crummy hair. That is when I started my wig-wearing journey -- about 21 years ago ! Can't believe it. I started with wigs (Noriko and ROP were THE two most popular brands at the time), as well as toppers, falls, etc. Wigs have come such a long way, it's incredible. Now, because my HL is so pronounced, I cannot use fibers any longer. I will not leave the house, even to get the mail, without some sort of head covering. I now wear full wigs, and love them. In the summer, it is extremely challenging, as I work outdoors for a living. I typically wear head-band wigs and must wear wide-brim hats because of the sun exposure all day (on fair skin), as well as long-sleaves. I do not have to look glamorous at work, thank goodness. But I do enjoy looking finished and put-together on my off days even when running errands. Wigs have changed my life. I realize at my age, there will never be a cure or solution, other than helper hair, and I have embraced it. Sure, I would like to have natural hair, of course. Many women my age, or older, do not have great hair though. Very few do and it diminishes with each passing year. So, it's half a dozen of one, and six of the other. Thank you for your content and I know you will feel better !
Im on the struggle bus big time, doing rogaine now hoping for results but fully knowing It may not work . Trying to focus on my overall health to keep my health journey moving forward. Pray for me and ill pray for you!!:))) God Bless
I hear ya regarding having "personal summers"! Gotta love our ever fluctuating hormones n such. That's why I can't live without fans year round to constantly circulate the indoor air. I've found taking organic coconut oil capsules helpful maybe cause they can balance our hormones. Anyways, I always enjoy ur reviews & chats. You truly are wonderful in willing to share ur vulnerability with us all as many of us can relate to it as well. As the saying goes sharing is caring. Thank u for being so truthful & sincere. ☺️🙏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻✨💕✨
Thank you for sharing, I really understand what you’re saying. I’ve only been wearing a wig for four months, but it is natural hair and boy am I struggling with it. I wish I would’ve known more before I made this purchase because I would’ve bought heat friendly synthetic. I buzzed my hair in November and it was so freeing. I did let it grow out a little bit so I have maybe an inch of hair and I’ve started going out in public with it like this so now I’m torn, do I keep trying wigs or do I just go out with hair this length. I would still have to start using fibers again too. I don’t know what to do either. I hope that you can find an answer for your health issues. Thank you for all that you do!
Bless you, milady! You look just like me--only being about 12 years older, mine is pretty gray now. I finally buzzed for the first time in early December and thought of you saying how freeing it was. Truth! I did feel lighter and it actually looked better than long wispy hairs wildly flailing about. I also recently bought my first 2 pixies for wearing around the house. Never thought I'd go near them! I've been on this wig journey for a year now and have grown in expanding my style choices and skills in stewarding them. Your voice and videos have been with me every step of the way. Thank you for your thorough teaching and transparency about the journey. I still have a lot to learn--and would love to recoup some of my money spent on wig style/color fails--but that's all part of the process, too. This year, I'm spending with a bit more wisdom, sticking to what I know works for me. Bless you! God will give us our hair crowns back in due season. And your health renewed in His healing and wholeness. ❤
Some times these chit chats are just so on target! I believe that you're being guided via your praying. So Sister-in-Christ/Wig Sister . . . I PRAYED FOR YOU!! May our good Lord bless you abundantly & may he also help you as your in a crossroads. Btw, do you whiten your teeth? They're very lovely. If you do it at home, could you share what product you use? BLESSINGS! LiDi
Thank you for your video. Your videos are so helpful for me and I really appreciate them. I have some of the same health concerns that you do and one thing that is hard for me is energy. Do you take anything that might help me with energy?
Yes, I am actually on it right now and have been for about 18 months or so... I was doing fine for a bit and then my thyroid decided it didn't want to be stable anymore so now I'm dealing with being hyperthyroid and we have had to keep lowering my does of Synthroid to get it on track. Right now I can't tell if it is the thyroid or the menopause, lol. Always something!
Do you have the problem with with wigs or the wig cap pulling out of the sides ?? I don’t have much hair left but the few are getting pulled out by wig
I am sorry that you're facing health challenges. Is that menopause? There are ways to help you with menopause. If that's what it is block kohash, every day, well healthy immensely. I started losing my hair around 2005I wear some. Type of headwear every day and we exhurry occasionally. I have celiac disease, an adelon mun issue, which let the wait for alopezia and hypothyroidism. I lost my eyebrows a couple of weeks ago. That didn't help less self esteem. I can tell you wearing headwear most of the time. It's fine, but then you get your occasional person who stares at you and stares at you. Very difficult time. Sometimes you just have to push through it. There are some really cute headwares. You could even wear up band of bangs that might help. God bless you for helping others. We are all here for you, too.
The clipless toppers i've seen from Milano collection are amazing, but at least $900. Too much for many of us. Also, they only have locations in California, NY and Florida. They will match your hair almost to perfection. I wish....
@@heywigsister Thank you! I also just noticed that you can buy the No slip Top Grip from them and then clip any topper to it, so it becomes clipless. The trick is, it doesn't always fit your topper, so you might have to resew the combs or add combs. I will look into that 👍
I tried to identify it was women or men that have autoimmune or cancer people treat you nicely what I wear the gator and I even get compliments when I wear my hat and my gator
1- commenting to support this YT channel and this sister 2- you look great without a wig. I mean great. Would you ever buzz it then go free? I see women of color do this frequently- and man- they are stunning. Or buzz- wear fibers- and that’s it. 3- you are a true beauty. Period. Charm is deceitful and beauty is fleeting- but a woman who fears the Lord- she shall be praised.

You inspired me to Buzz cut my incredibly thin post menopausal hair.
I felt liberated. Now I have started my wig journey. And I love it.
THANK YOU ❤
Oh my gosh, YAY! I'm thrilled that it helped you like it helped me. You would think it would be the opposite but it sure was a wonderful surprise!
Thank you for all you do for those of us who have severe hair loss. I am grateful for you!!
Oh my gosh, thank you so much! You have no idea what reading this means to me! You truly made my day!

Buzzing my hair off was empowering to me. It allowed me to take back control over what I look like. ❤
Me too! :)
That’s how I felt too, very freeing!
Thank you for sharing Denise. I’m praying for you in your health struggles. 🙏🏼
I didn’t know about the clipless toppers. I wore a topper for 7 years back in the 00s and have permanent scars from them rubbing on my scalp. Stay strong, Denise! ❤
Brave lady , my hair hasn’t grown back in well from chemo , I’m gonna just buzz mine too
I lost every hair on my head due to cutaneous lupus… it is devastating.
And by the way you are absolutely dazzling❤
You are so inspiring! I wore toppers for a while and they were more comfortable for me when having hot flashes. Now I do wigs 100% of the time and buzz my hair (because of your videos giving me the courage, and I love it!). Even so, I'd love to learn more about toppers that don't require clips. Whatever you decide to do, thanks for sharing and being real. You make me feel less alone in this, and I appreciate you so much! Hope your health issues resolve and you feel better soon.
You are a treasure.
You are an angel! Thank you so much for all the information and inspiration!
Oh my gosh, thank you so much for saying that! 💖
Milano Wigs: Maybe take a trip to one of their locations for a consult. They even have a Bang Topper!!!
Those are amazing, but so pricey for many of us. I wish they had more locations too. Nothing in the Midwest.
@mercedesbee6582 , I know... 🥹
Please share what you learn about toppers and the new wig bands that have a silicone cord on the sides and back.
I dont understand what you are going through but I can tell you, you honestly are beautiful 🤩!! What a special woman you must be!!
That is so kind of you to say! Thank you!
Been buzzing my hair for about a year now. So liberating! Love my wigs. Never liked my hair. Too thin and fine.
You are appreciated. Thank you
Great video. Thank you
The struggle is so real for me right now. I dont even know what to do.
I have wigs, I think they all look ugly on me. I also like the freedom of not having anything on my head. Its hot and itchy and makes me crazy.
You're incredibly brave.🫶
I would love if you did a series on toppers, they have come a long way
I was having my hair coming out in clumps whenever I washed it, Then I upped my vitamin D.
You are SO kind! Thank you for the encouragement, that means the world.
This is my first time seeing your channel.
You are Beautiful!
Aw, thank you! I am so glad to have you here!
I learned The confidence from you
Im on the struggle bus big time, doing rogaine now hoping for results but fully knowing It may not work . Trying to focus on my overall health to keep my health journey moving forward. Pray for me and ill pray for you!!:))) God Bless
I’m so sorry that you are struggling but I know what is is like for sure! I’m praying for both of us. Hang in there!! It will get better!
Thank you so much! I'd love to know what brand capsules you take... I'm all about the natural remedies these days!
BLESSINGS!
LiDi
Thank you Dear for Sharing this.
God Bless you and yours, Hugs😙😙💞💕💞💕
You such a gem Denise. Amazing, faithful and beautiful from the
Inside out Xxoo
Thank you for your video. Your videos are so helpful for me and I really appreciate them. I have some of the same health concerns that you do and one thing that is hard for me is energy. Do you take anything that might help me with energy?
Have you looked into hormone replacement therapy?
Yes, I am actually on it right now and have been for about 18 months or so... I was doing fine for a bit and then my thyroid decided it didn't want to be stable anymore so now I'm dealing with being hyperthyroid and we have had to keep lowering my does of Synthroid to get it on track. Right now I can't tell if it is the thyroid or the menopause, lol. Always something!
Do you have the problem with with wigs or the wig cap pulling out of the sides ?? I don’t have much hair left but the few are getting pulled out by wig
Also thank you for being so honest and open I needed that . I have many hard days with my hair loss
I wear a gator and a hat everyday and I love it
Love it! Do you have a favorite?
The clipless toppers i've seen from Milano collection are amazing, but at least $900. Too much for many of us. Also, they only have locations in California, NY and Florida. They will match your hair almost to perfection. I wish....
I'll keep my eye out for other options and share them if I find them! I get the financial struggle for sure.
1- commenting to support this YT channel and this sister
2- you look great without a wig.
Your amazing. And a gift from God. Hair loss is hard. I hate wearing a wig but I am grateful it's an option.
❤❤❤
