Berg was always one of my favorite musicians. Stern is a master and flows with original ideas from the first to the last note. Chambers is always awesome. Thanks for sharing.
I met him and Goines a little over ten years ago, they gave a workshop + concert for about 15 people, no one really knew it was going on so we had an almost private session with them... He spoke for about 10 minutes, then said "well, let's play a little", closed his eyes and didn't open them again for the next full ten minutes, never broke his concentration, never got out of the flow, and didn't play one single phrase that wasn't full of melodic sense and inspiration. Very intense, peaceful and zen personality.
Sleeveless orange shirt, light denim jeans, shirt tucked into jeans, curly hair, front of curly hair is bobbling around, shades, white tennis shoes. All that going wrong and still manages to be cool AF! Bless you Bob Berg
Bob Berg IS a "wicked".... Mike Brecker IS a "wicked"... Faster than the speed of sound... More beautiful than beauty... More intrepid than danger... On the sax, more lethal than death itself... RIP!
I've seen my share of Dennis Chambers on vids (and even live once, Mt. Fuji Jazz w/Breckers), but I've never seen him in such a contemplative mood playing a solo.
God, it would be great to play with this much energy. I do little restaurants as a single and watching this makes me miss playing in a band a little bit.
I saw this band on this very tour, just a few months earlier in late '89 (with a different bass player, I think). Great group. I love the Coltrane-esque tenor-drum duel between Berg and Chambers.
You have to alter the title: best Mike Stern solo, best Dennis Chambers drum solo ;-) There has never been so much power in Mike`s playing! And the end of the drum solo Dennis never got any better!
Stern turns on the afterburners after 8:00, wow. So sad to read about Bob Berg, and the health challenges of Stern, but what a time for them?!! LG and DC are LOCKED SOLID. And the fun is off the hook.
Miss Bob, I don't know how Stern included him in his band... he always surpassed his solos, also with that aggressive style, it's impossible to go unnoticed by a soloist like Berg
Wear FOOKIN' SEATBELTS! Add him to the list of great musicians dying from... stupidity? Duane Allman - get blasted and play chicken with trucks on your Harley... Jimi - then-current squeeze was injured in ice-skating obsessive over-training. ONE pill of monster Euro painkillers - one-HALF for the little ladies. Jimi's secret magic number was... NINE. Nine hits of acid, nine lines of blow. And nine massively boomy Euro pain pills. Berg was tragically under-recorded, and just hitting his post-Miles blooming state. Frick'znt.
I'm a guitarist, bass, now steel guitar has taken over (NOT country!). I don't "get' a lot of sax players, although Miles owns my soul. Berg was the best since Cannonball, to MY ear. He played melodies, not sax tricks. (I don't like guitar tricks much either).
very intense ! bob berg played with a friend here in geneva moncef ! oh man i didnt met him ! what a great musician he was ! and after his solo who can make a solo ? lol nobody ? oh yes mick stern !!! or maybe louis bertignac ?
Your right! Amazing. Take into consideration, my opinion is just an opinion. If I were a great drummer like Mr. Chambers I would do the same. Also, I had a couple of beers when I made that commit above. So being jealous could had an influence on my thoughts. Dennis Chambers is in my top 5 greatest drummers of all time.
Great musicians, except Bob Berg. After 2 minutes hearing his, constant, hypersonic, ego-trip, one permanent loud volume display, I've had it. Sorry guys, for the Bob Berg-afficianados, but I think there 's no difference in dyamics in his playing. It's all loud and fast. With all due respect, what is so special about his playing?....
Probably one of the best bands in 1990. Stern and Chambers are on fire!
ever actually ahahhaha
Berg was always one of my favorite musicians. Stern is a master and flows with original ideas from the first to the last note. Chambers is always awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Incredible Super high speed energy by all of them.... woaw!
So fantastic thank heavens this was recorded such a lovely moment in time in this galaxy
The camera crew gets an A+ on the drum solo angles. That’s cool. You wouldn’t see anything like this today for whatever reason.
Wiesen, Austria 1990 - I was there ... man ... RIP Bob Berg.
Mike Stern’s pretty amazing
Bob Berg is a BEAST.
I met him and Goines a little over ten years ago, they gave a workshop + concert for about 15 people, no one really knew it was going on so we had an almost private session with them...

It's called having drip, my friend.
I saw this tour in 91 in San Francisco. Chambers blew me away!
Bob Berg IS a "wicked"....
Mike Brecker IS a "wicked"...
Faster than the speed of sound...
More beautiful than beauty...
More intrepid than danger...
On the sax, more lethal than death itself...
RIP!

Four F-18 jet fighter pilots streaking across the musical landscape. Blazing through complex skies...well above the clouds.
Truth is: If you mess with Mike Stern, Bob Berg, and Dennis Chambers, you gonna pay!

I can totally hear Michael Brecker's licks from Bob, and it sounds so great

Berg is the best in the world
Was.... may he rest in peace. Awesome musician...!!
I'm a guitarist, bass, now steel guitar has taken over (NOT country!). I don't "get' a lot of sax players, although Miles owns my soul. Berg was the best since Cannonball, to MY ear. He played melodies, not sax tricks. (I don't like guitar tricks much either).
EXPLOSIVE!
Bob Berg was a jewish genius of Sax like Brecker or Liebman !! Crazy level of virtuosity and musicality 👍
All definitely students of John Coltrane.
Talk about dynamics......How quiet can you get Dennis?
Thanks for sharing 😊
yes thank you. I needed that.
Dennis is tough on them drums.....
oooh finally the video of this song! Thank you!! Grazie!
Lorenzo Ferdinandi what song is it? I'm trying to find it everywhere 😅
Fuck me! Bob Berg! What a monster!!!!
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the best videos, maybe the best ever from this band. Can someone tell me the time signature?
Daniel Roth Just 4/4, with some pitadas do modo grego "pau quebrando". ;)
very intense ! bob berg played with a friend here in geneva moncef ! oh man i didnt met him ! what a great musician he was ! and after his solo who can make a solo ? lol nobody ? oh yes mick stern !!! or maybe louis bertignac ?

Strange, Chambers playing DeJohnette's drum set ;]
Dennis Chambers is the mixture of Muhammad Ali and Usain Bolt! THE DRUM CHAMP IS HERE!
マイクスタンの世界観にボブバーグのハマり具合が最高
Tight.
Their version of Kashmir.
He's using the neck pickup. That makes it jazz.
Incrível
11:56...goodness gracious
Good god
I think I have this on CD. The gate on the snare drum is something else. Any by something else I mean: too much. awesome chops tho.
21:37 that was aight
If they got paid by the note they'd be richer than Bezos !
Is that Jack DeJohnette's kit? Looks like a Sonor.
I rari him

Eric Clapton is not god. Dennis Chambers is.
Bicho Maledetto No! Hendrix was!!!! Berg was quality though!
@@Happy-Me. was about to post this

🌱💛😃🌼
What's the song name?
that fuckin bass player is good too!
good don't even begin to describe it.......gggeeeeeeeeesus.
это полнейший пиздец от Dennis Chambers! Он тогда был в лучшей форме.
A huevo
much prefer weckl for technic
No sabia que Charlie Garcia tocara el sax xdxd
Mike Stern is great. Hate that outer space guitar tone.
Gratuitous speed-merchants playing as many notes as fast as possible. Quickly becomes tedious and migraine-inducing.
Dennis. Chambers ,, noise machine, lota nothing ,, he should have a drink
Indulgent
Amazing song and musicians. But way too fast for me compared to the album. Too much of a technic demo.
ridiculous
Боба Берга люблю, но в данной композиции много демонстрации блестящей техники но на мой взгляд мало мелодизма.
Как они запоминают эту ахинею?
Facile il tema di sto pezzo...
I love Dennis, but he is kind of a bully in this gig. Buddy Rich did that some times. When your great, I guess it's OK.
What? Did you not hear that sax solo he went where he wanted and the rhythms section followed him always in step listening and responding
Your right! Amazing.

Rich, Gadd, Galabaldie, calliudda, chad wackerman, Bozio, not in any order sorry for the spelling
+ Joel Haynes Haha love your honest reply bro. You're a good guy.
