what a musician ! saw him in geneva , in a little club , i was just in front of him ...i played guitar , a tall guy , he could play anything , funky , duke , jazz fusion ....one of the greatest experience of my life ! i hate cars !

I think Brecker has a bigger sax vocabulary, but I like Bergs tone better. Breckers style bothers me a bit, personally, so overall I like Berg better. Berg can sound samey a little quick. I think Potter and Liebman are the real kings of modern sax.

Loved Bob when Berg was in Cedar Walton Quartet with Sam Jones and Billy Higgins , that was a great Band

He's not underrated - just unknown. It's sad that you can be one of the best ever in your field and still get no recognition.
