This was very helpful. I have to see the rheumatologist here in The States every four months, so it was nice to get a glimpse of what it will be like there.

I think the nudity thing is all in Europe, but not leaving them when you get undress seems a little odd 😳

Good information. I would think with so many English speaking foreigner s. Dutch German French English. They would have done English translator s working at the hospital to assist

That usually takes a lot of money and you’d definitely hire several people like this as having just one would not be wise.

Thanks for posting this info…!!! You mentioned that you also have VA / TrICare for medical care… so, I’m just curious if you had to enroll in the VA’s “Foreign Medical Program” (FMP) in order to be reimbursed for medical expenses in Portugal?
    Also…
    Thank you for your service!

Europeans are culturally less prudish as regards nudity, generally. Thanks for the valuable info. Best!!

I have to quibble. You're talking about US HMO and Tricare insurance. Has nothing to do with PPOs here. I work in health insurance. But yes European systems are different. It's kind of pointless comparing them. My wife is Austrian and I've seen how badly things can go even with universal coverage. You might be having a different experience BECAUSE you have US federal subsidies. Just keep that in mind. This stuff is extremely complex and I don't think comparisons are helpful for folks. There's so many factors that can make or a break a situation for someone.

Thankfully this is my experience and from my own viewpoint. Doesn’t matter what insurance I have. Comparing the US to Portugal insurance and how things work from my perspective is the point of this video. Thank you for watching ♥️
