you're doing the best vhs/80s aesthetic, not just on youtube, but maybe that i have ever seen. you're an astounding filmmaker. and the tune is amazing too!
I guess surely that Kimiko Takeguchi was inspired by Seiko Matsuda (松田 聖子). I think the airport scene was also inspired by the Japanese programme "The Best Ten (ザ • ベストテン)" in the episode that Seiko's song "Ao i Sangoshou (青い珊瑚礁)" was ranked in the programme for the first time in 1980.

The idea of imposter syndrome rings true not just for Ginger Root but also for Kimiko in this video. This sense of whether something is destructive or benevolent. Passing on a possible opportunity because it feels like a cage, and then seeing someone else thrive in that environment, resulting in FOMO. There's so much happening here. It's wonderful. I mean, it's sad and tragic, but it's amazing. And that bassline.
I have to agree I'm excited to see if the other song plays along with the storyline of this one because I love how the themes are applied. Also the fact that the new EP is called Nisemono or 偽者 in japanese means impostor or liar ties in really well.
@@garrettc4435 I've been watching this video at least once a day since it came out. I kind of hope things work out for Kimiko as well. She left her label hanging, which isn't cool, and outwardly it seems like her motivations were selfishness and ego. But maybe the moment just felt too big for her. She wondered if she could handle success, if she even deserves to be successful. In other words, maybe she has some imposter syndrome as well. You said I know what the seasons bring
You said it goes with those children sing
Oh wait it’s only half-past noon (stay tuned)
Till the time gets quicker
How to stand the wait
It’s time to change your pace
Loneliness
Gone with your lying
Sayin’ it ain’t it
Oh, loneliness
You know why
Loneliness
Find it out later
Tryin’ to be slick
Oh, loneliness
Say goodbye
Well no one told me when would things get real
Just walk on by and whisper, “What’s you’re dealing?”
Oh wow, it’s now half past two (so soon)
‘Cuz the time gets quicker
How to stand the wait
To stop and change your pace

Gone with your lying

キミコちゃんの演技が80年代のアイドルのぶりっ子感を過剰に醸し出していて笑うわー。日本人が見ても面白い。
Great heavens, everything feels straight out of the 1980s. Absolutely wonderful.
80s aesthetic is so... pleasing. Wholesome, nostalgic. Timeless.
I love how Ginger Root used the same popular fonts that was use in 70-80's TV show! and the background stage! OMG they really put their heart in every details!
Genius, this is a already a certified hood classic
I love this concept. It’s unique and the kind of story you wished you could see. The song is cute and a nice listen on the vibes of city slicker. I can’t wait to listen to it over and over
80年代の日本の音楽番組風の演出めちゃくちゃ良い!
今までの曲で一番好き!7インチ盤でリリースしてくれないかな…
I'm impressed by the level of work that goes into these videos. All the actors/actresses, the set pieces... They ended up shooting at an airport, haha.
