Just happened a few days ago to me, luckily I was at work and the shop guys gave me a great clamp and antifreeze . It’s a worm clamp with a tension spring, very tight and it got me home. I replaced the radiator today I didn’t want to have to worry about it coming off again. Since I had everything apart I replaced the Thermostat, water pump, hoses and fan motors because they are original 15 year old ones and will probably need replacing soon.
@@dannysnt7264Not big deal to me, I already had the parts for years, I have two GT’s and have been collecting parts since I purchased them new in 09. I usually spend $1-2k per year on parts for the past 15 years
Happened to my fiances g8 yesterday. Not going to even fool around with 2 clamps. Thought about it briefly and decided at $13 a gallon for antifreeze, I'm not going to keep feeding it antifreeze. I'll replace the radiator for $210
Klinton O'Donnell I agree, I hate to blow $300 for somthing GM should have design better.. I would replaces it asap.. but $210 is for after market Rad.. I was looking for oem unit.. About $280 plus instalation cost I was gonna do the job myself but it's not that easy with the transmission lines leaking if not installed properly..
This happen to mine like 2-3 months ago while swinging and it kept poppin off while engine was under pressure (high RPMs) think it’s time to upgrade the radiator lol
My lip broke about 4 years ago it's still running strong with double clamps you just got to make sure every once in a while you tighten them back up but if you want to be 100% reliable then yeah you need to buy a new radiator
Jr Saucedo yeah it sucks but if you don't really take the car out on road trips you stay local and you work local then the two clap method seems to hold up pretty well I have a radiator sitting in my garage brand new AC Delco and that lip looks very flimsy and it's brand new if a fly's off again then I'll swap it with the new radiator until then it's holding up pretty well
Yeah my dad did fixed it for me what he did he made 4 little holes and put some electric wire on all holes so made a little groove at the end never ever again it came out and am always racing my g8

@@dannysnt7264 yeah I had to take the radiator back and get the capless one, I was hoping this was a v6 but it’s all good 💀😂

It's sucks bro.. But yeah time for a new one
Mine does the same thing, i was thinking to myself to upgrade the radiator since I'll be modifying my engine anyway.
I know this is old, but this same thing just happened to me. The lip on the hose connector is broken off. ugh.
Sucks bro
These radiators just suck. But a Mishimoto and call it a day!
Mine broke. Looks like yours is the same issue.
U got a link to the Clamp u ordered? Mines recently blew off as well
They're regular hose clamps you can get them at the local auto parts store I think they're an 1 3/4 I'll reply tomorrow and get you an exact size
My lip cracked does that mean I just need to get a whole new radiator?
