This is the best juicer review video I have seen on youtube Man you really know your stuff and your style of delivery about the subject flows nicely. Keep up the good work man. I look forward to sifting through your massive collection on juicing and blending uploads
For juicing mostly greens I would recommend a single auger style juicer. The Samson Single Auger juicer with its end cap will yield the most with wheatgrass, sprouts and leafy greens.
For Juicing mostly fruits, I prefer the Omega VRT juicer, in general it makes a higher yield and is easy to use. Its REALLY important when juicing fruits to select hard, firm fruits, as soft ones tend to mush instead of juice.
Depends on what percentages of each type of produce item you want to juice and also the other factors that may be important to you, ie: speed, ease of use, length of warranty, yield, nutrient quality, etc. Personally if I was juicing that combination I would go with the Omega VRT.
Not often do I feel the need to comment on UA-cam videos. But this guy, his honesty just oozes. Perhaps there is a better word - but a man that will straight out tell you that you may VERY WELL be served by a product that he does not sell DESERVES your attention. I found this video looking for an excuse to buy the 8004 Omega. His video solidified this, but his honesty I respect no matter what. Fantastic review.
I have a BS in Nutrition and am certified several times over as a Personal Trainer. I currently own the LaLanne juicer and am in the market for a new one. I juice everyday I would just like a better quality toy in my kitchen. Your video cleared everything up that I would ever ask. I'm now purchasing the Omega 8006. Prep time isn't a worry since I enjoy working in the kitchen. Thank you for taking the time and providing us with such an informative video. I am subscribing to you channel.
John, although your video is 28mins., I not only learnt a lot from it but I was so entertained because of your perky, and upbeat personality. You are adorable when you take the time to make analogies so to makes it much easier for people like me to understand. Thank you for this video. I'm not in an immediate hurry to purchase one right now but thanks to your video I'm not so intimidated anymore if i ever do decide to buy one.
Thanks....also, I've become a fan. My husband sent me one of your links after I mentioned a raw food diet and now I'm totally hooked....on your videos! It's a little juicer crush :). I think we're going to start with the Omega 8006. I'm trying to convince him that both the 8006 and the vert are absolutely necessary :). Thanks for the energetic and entertaining videos!
John, I have to thank you. I have high dyslexia and even that I read with great care your articles, I find it hard to understand and make sense of things. I truly enjoy your visual explanations. Thank you so much. x
It depends on what you are juicing. On carrots- the breville WILL yield more On leafy greens- the augers will yield more. each juicer yields more or less depending on the item being juiced and the extraction method. Some extraction methods are more effective at juicing certain types of produce. I have produced over 200 videos that show me juicing various produce items in different juicers so you can get a sense of the yields.
I have an Omega 8004/8006 and I really like it. It squeezes the juice out of the pulp, which comes out very dry. The only thing that I don't like about it is that when you juice apples, nectarines, pears (soft flesh fruits) you have to put something hard through after them to help push out the soft pulp. But the convenience of cleaning, and the ability to juice greens, squeezing out the most juice from the pulp make it worth it, despite the small negatives you might find about it.
Excellent summary comparison, John!! Took me awhile to gather the info when I started juicing and understand the pros and cons of each design. I viewed ALL your videos when I decided to start juicing and must say your channel is the most informative on the topic. Thank you for all your work and efforts :)
Hi John, thanks for all the videos and comparisons & advice! Since we live in The Netherlands we had to get our 8004 from UK Juicers - machine works beyond expectations! Great product.! Thanks again. Best recommendation I've seen far ages!
Yes, the single augers juice carrots and hard vegetables. That being said, other style juicers may extract a higher yield on hard veggies. Single augers will also juice fruits but its important to select the FIRMEST and HARDEST fruits possible. soft/mushy fruits tend NOT to juice well in any juicer. I encourage eating FRESH over frozen vegetables. Frozen veggies can not be juice, but can be processed into puree (baby food) with the blank plate.
1. the auger and screen frame is made from GE Ultem on the HD model. 2. on the VRT350 the HD is implied on the Omega site, as they do not make a NON HD version. 3. see watch?v=2q50XbF0Db0 for how to clean and make juice in under 10 minutes 4. we can be reached thru email. Omega can be reached by Phone. We are both quite busy and sometimes it does take us some time to respond to all inquiries. 5. Its not difficult. We just need a chance. This is the first I have heard of your questions.
Easily the Omega 8004 / 8006 - its more versatile - "overall" as it homogenizes and juices. Although each juicer handles certain tasks better than others.
John - Outstanding Video Sir! I'm an instant fan and we're ready for a life style change - Thanks for the inspiration - Looking forward to viewing many more videos -
The stainless steel jack lalanne is just like the plastic version. It is more upscale, but still has the main disadvantage of the short warranty. The yield is about the same.
Each Juicer has their own set of pros and cons. The Jack Lalanne has a short warranty and is a centrifugal ejection style machine (like the breville) that I talk about in this video.
The Omega J8004 is an amazing juicer, extremely versatile and so easy to use. And, as explained in the video - it's exactly the same model as the J8006, only white - which has it costing slightly less. Because of the low rpm's the juice maintains its enzymes much longer and I can juice two days in advance. Omega also has an incredible Customer Service reputation - you just can't go wrong with this juicer.
I have not tested many hamilton beach juicers. Basically, any juicer that makes fresh juice is better then purchasing bottled juices. That being said.. I like to make good investments that will last. Most Hamilton beach juicers may have a short 90 day warranty, where some of the entry level juicers by lequip we offer have a 10 year warranty. I believe the better investment is the one that will still be working after 10 years, due to the longer warranty.
Thank you very much for your review. Your video was instrumental in the decision making process and we opted for the Omega -- and have had juice every day for the last month. I cannot say I've lost weight or that my health has noticeably improved, but I have not gained any, either, and am feeling pretty good. Having kale, cilantro, and parsley every day (along with carrots, apples and an orange) cannot be bad. Happy juicing.
Specifically in the question, that had asked for the lowest priced auger juicer. If they asked for the "lowest priced juicer" than I would recommend the Lequip 110.5 that is under $100 and has a 10 year warranty. At present time auger juicers are in the $200 range when they are new. Otherwise a person can attempt to find a used one on ebay or craigslist.
I do have a video on the powergrind comparing it to a standard centrifugal ejection juicer, and showing the results. Each juicer has its on set of pros and cons. One of the things I dont like about the PGP is the shorter 3 yr warranty, whereas some of the juicers in this video have a 10 or 15 yr warranty.
On the Kuvings multipurose- Its basically like a Samson juicer, but has a much shorter warranty, plus I have had some customer service issues with Kuvings, so I can not recommend that model. I would recommend the Omega 8003 8004 8005 8006 or the Samson 9001 9002 9003 9004 9005 9006 models instead,
It will "last" meaning "it wont go bad". But after 6 hours, you will lose some of the nutrients in the juice. If you want to store the juice, I recommend a low rpm juicer. That being said, 6 hour old juice from a breville is better than drinking a canned or bottled juice.
Major help in making my decision of re-purchasing a new juicer after returning my up right "jack lalanne power juicer". More options, easier to clean after wards as excellently described in the demonstration! Yes! More closely yes, but well worth the investment! 15 years warranty means alot to me just because that makes more cost effective sense to me.
I personally recommend the 8004 or 8006 over the 8003 and 8005. Why? 5 extra years on the warranty and upgraded parts. See the first half of this video: watch?v=vuOoF32s0f0 where I explain the differences.
The Lequip 215XL would be fine for you, as you intend to juice only a small percentage of leafy greens. It will STILL juice them, but just not as effectively as other juicers. Each juicer has its pros and cons.. Just like each pair of shoes. Pick the juicer that will best fit your needs, like you will pick the shoe that best matches your outfit..
Thanks for making such an informative video! My old Warren juicer broke and I was lost reading through descriptions about juicers on Amazon. My decision is so much easier now!
Thank you for this EXCELLENT video! I am needing a juicer and your videos are the most helpful I have ever seen- all of your videos are the best! I will buy it from Discount Juicer because I value your opinion the most and you are so informative! Thank you for the video on coconut processing with the Omega 8004. Lol I wonder- do you ever get tired of people telling you how AWESOME and GREAT you are and thanking you over and over again for touching their lives?
The only difference on the auger between the 8003/8005 and 8004/8006 is the material the auger is made. The actual auger is identical. The 8004/8006 is made from a 8x harder material. On the plastic, please see my video at watch?v=KduUyiU6WOc for further information on that subject.
Fat Sick and Nearly Dead is on Netflix instant view~ that movie inspired me! As do RawFoods, Life Regenerator and RawSangha,Rawformylife, cross pecans, raw Brahs and more...Thanks Everyone!!!Just got my juicer today John! I can't believe how fast free shipping was. PS I bought the VRT350 HD-Silver. Just put it together and starting in the am. Thanks for all the great videos John.
The Omega VRT can make sorbet; but I do not recommend it. It is designed as a juicer. If you choose to make sorbet you MUST pre-cut all your frozen produce before freezing and feed in small pieces otherwise you may damage the juicer. You must also remove the yellow pulp flap.
no. warranties on not transferable on the omega or most other brand juicers. For this reason, I recommend purchasing a brand new juicer to ensure you will be covered for 15 years in the case of the 8006.
The 8004 would be a better machine to juice ALOT of leafy greens and make nut butters. That being said, the VRT will do it, but its not as good at it in my opinion.
The omega 8004 and 8006 juice wheatgrass well. The Omega VRT will juice wheatgrass when mixxed with other fruits and vegetables. I do have a video on this at watch?v=9rchPqw2Z1g
while a lower speed on a breville juicer may juice greens better than a higher speed, the other type of juicers I show in this video will STILL juice greens much better.
We offer the Omega VRT350. we call it the Omega VRT350HD.. Why? It's very simple. The Omega VRT350 contains the upgraded 8x harder HD screen. I refer to the Omega VRT350 as the Omegfa VRT350HD. They are ONE in the same machine. Some people choose to call it the VRT350 and some the VRT 350HD.
There is a simple typo on the warranty card. According to the box it says 15 years. On Omega's web site site it states 15 years. I have notified the mfg about this, and it still has not gotten changed... On the service charge fee, that is "standard" verbage in the warranty paperwork. If they charge it or not is another story... I havent heard of too many people gettting charged that fee...
Hi John, I love your videos!! you are awesome!!! your videos are awesome!!! I have learned so much from you.....I have ordered the OMEGA 8004....and I have subscribed to your channel....Thank you sooo much!!
Hi John, a few years ago I bought an OMEGA 8004 and I'm lovin' it. Recently I bought a few Comfrey plants. After watching a video by Patrick Dolan from One yard Revolution on "Composting and using Comfrey" where he ground a bunch of Comfrey leaves in his Vida mixer with a little water and poured the mixture on his garden. So, my question is this, "Can I do the same thing with my Omega 8004? I realize that this juicer will remove all of the fibrous materials, leaving only a very strong concentrate. Then I can use the fibrous materials in the compost pile while diluting the concentrate to use on my garden."
Im not here to convince anyone of anything. I share my experiences and my opinions on the juicers. We do not sell to the EU or UK so I would suggest eujuicers*com or ukjuicers*com that does serve your area. Both are excellent companies to work with. I did look up the Nutri-Squeeze and from what I can tell its the Chinese Knock Off of the original Vertical Single augers that are made in Korea. Basically- you get what you pay for.
the Omega 8004/8006 and NC800 are best at juicing wheatgrass and the Omega VRT series will juice wheatgrass, but I dont recommend the later if you want to juice ALOT of wheatgrass.
I was thinking about getting a breville in addition to the Omega VRT I got from John. It seems that each juicer does different things. So I'd like to hear from some Breville owners.
Depends on your needs. If you will do more hard veggies (meaning not leafy greens) then the centrifugal ejection machine might be best as its faster. If you will juice ALOT of leafy greens then the horizonal single auger juicers might be better. Be sure to watch my other juicer comparisons to learn which one might best meet your needs.
while you can do that to make a juice without the pulp, in my opinion, its not a good idea as the blender is running at 37,000 rpm that adds air to the mixture and significantly oxidizes the juice more than an 80 rpm juicer.
Hi John I started watching your videos and they are very helpfull and very informative...I am having a hard time deciding on wich juicer to buy, I will mainly be doing: carrots, oranges, and some green vegestables! which one you think is the best to suite my needs?
Hi John - I have the VRT350 and love it. But I have a question about cleaning. The screen, auger and bowl are getting coated with a hard dry residue from the veggies and fruits. I can't scrub it off with a brush and it is building up. Some of the fine holes on my screen are now getting clogged with this residue. Do you have any suggestions for dissolving this stuff off? Should I use bleach or ammonia or something? Thanks.
Check your local reseller for warranty as my Breville juicer (Cold Fountain Pro BJE825) came with a standard 2 year replacement and 5 year motor, however our reseller was confident enough in the Breville product that they threw in an extra 2 year store replacement on top for free. But 10 or 15 year warranty is awesome!
Great video! I am really looking to buy a good juicer. I am not too sure about how much fruits and vegetables I would be juicing, I mean I don't know which one I would juice more. I am aware that the 8006 is better for leafy greens. I am interested in juicing things like spinach, kale, arugula apples, oranges, beets, herbs, bananas, papaya, etc. I know I definitely want to get an Omega because I see it has some of the best and strongest reviews. I'm confused between the VRT or the 8006?
Hi John! Thank u for taking the time to create this informational video! It was very helpful. Just wanted to ask you if you knew anything about the Jack LaLanne stainless steel juicer and what are your thoughts about it?
Oh my goodness, thank you John for your exceptional videos! I'm trying to decide between the Omega vrt and 8004/6. I'm pretty sure I want the 8004/6, partly because I really really want the fruit soft-serve option! Also you've pretty much described me when it comes to Whole Foods/leafy greens and I suspect the 8004/6 is going to clog less unless I'm very careful. Now, just to confirm: the 8004 is exactly the same as the 8006 except for color? Nothing's changed in that regard?
You must not be located in the USA. The Coway is not available here. It is basically like a VRT but has a dc motor, that is louder, and may not be as durable as an AC motor. The best investment is the one what will juice best what you want to juice most.
Hi John, love your site, and youtube page. I currently own an older model Green Star dual auger juicer, but find the veg prep and clean up times to be annoying enough that I end up not using it much. From your reviews, I'm thinking about buying a BMJ330 or vRT350HD. I mostly want to make 75% cucumber/celery, 25% kale(or collards)/apple/carrot/lemon/etc. Noise isn't that important to me. Would you recommend the 330 or 350? Thanks!
I would like a juicer that works very well, and still keeps the nutrition of the veggies and fruits. Also, we currently use a manual masticating juicer for our wheat and barley grasses so I would love them to have one that can do the greens as well. I can really only afford this once -at least for a bit & I need it to work and keep working. Also the cleaning ease is a factor for me- I will use it more if it is not totally wierd to clean and quiet for fam sleeping. DO you have a suggestion? Thx
Where can I find more information about the food scoring system? And THANK YOU for the video me and my husband want to get healthy and are trying to decide on our first juicer this is VERY helpful!!
All the machines you mention are about all the same in terms of quietness. That being said, please watch the latest video where I compare the vertical to horizontal style single auger machines: watch?v=vuOoF32s0f0 which may help in your decision.
For this use, I would recommend the Omega 8004 or 8006. It runs at low rpm, and is easy to clean and has a 15 year warranty.
I use several juicers in my home. My three favorite: Omega VRT, Omega 8004/8006 and the Green Star Elite.

Hi John, thanks for all the videos and comparisons & advice! Since we live in The Netherlands we had to get our 8004 from UK Juicers - machine works beyond expectations!
Great product.! Thanks again. Best recommendation I've seen far ages!
we now have the 215XL white in stock. We are currently out of stock on the black model.

Each juicer has their pros and cons. Choose the juicer that will best meet your needs and will juice BEST what you want to juice MOST.
Yes, you CAN put the pulp back thru again, and it will get a little more juice, but its not super effective with ejection juicers to do that.
depends on your goals. For those items a centrifugal ejection will do fairly well.
Thanks for the video, very informative. I went with the Breville. I am amazed at how well it works and the yield is outstanding.
The Omega J8004 is an amazing juicer, extremely versatile and so easy to use. And, as explained in the video - it's exactly the same model as the J8006, only white - which has it costing slightly less. Because of the low rpm's the juice maintains its enzymes much longer and I can juice two days in advance. this guy is so watchable, no stupid bs and funny in a cool way.
Specifically in the question, that had asked for the lowest priced auger juicer. If they asked for the "lowest priced juicer" than I would recommend the Lequip 110.5 that is under $100 and has a 10 year warranty.
15 years warranty means alot to me just because that makes more cost effective sense to me.
saw FDND last night, good stuff! i love how the trucker guy showed up and it branched off with his story.
I personally recommend the 8004 or 8006 over the 8003 and 8005. Why? 5 extra years on the warranty and upgraded parts. See the first half of this video:

Damn! I've got Omega 8006 and VitamixVS now I want the OMEGA VERT.....I'll
Be calling you soon John. Thanks again for the good info.
on easiest to feed to hardest:
centrifugal ejection, omega vrt, omega 8004 and green star elite.
The only difference on the auger between the 8003/8005 and 8004/8006 is the material the auger is made. The actual auger is identical. The 8004/8006 is made from a 8x harder material. On the plastic, please see my video at watch?v=KduUyiU6WOc for further information on that subject.

The 8004 would be a better machine to juice ALOT of leafy greens and make nut butters. That being said, the VRT will do it, but its not as good at it in my opinion.
I love your videos. Funny and informative!
Juicing and Blending is not the same. If you want to juice ONLY beets, a centrifugal ejection juicer will do best, such as the Lequip 215XL
depends on your goals with juicing. For the highest yield and nutrition, go for the Green Star Elite GSE-5000
wow - i appreciate your energy and commitment in sharing your knowledge, God Bless!
The omega 8004 and 8006 juice wheatgrass well. The Omega VRT will juice wheatgrass when mixxed with other fruits and vegetables. I do have a video on this at

while a lower speed on a breville juicer may juice greens better than a higher speed, the other type of juicers I show in this video will STILL juice greens much better.
Go for the Norwalk. Its $2500.00 and often thought of as the "gold standard" of juicers. I say the Norwalk has its pros and cons.
Personally if I was juicing that much fruit, I would get an Omega VRT juicer, however a blender may be better to process mostly fruits in my opinion.
I am now an expert on juice machines Thanks to you. . awesome video
Then I can use the fibrous materials in the compost pile while diluting the concentrate to use on my garden."
wow good work mate, just bought the breville. top info on the leafy greens though. will sort it
Im not here to convince anyone of anything.
Great video, helped me finalize my purchasing decision AND where to buy it from.
I was thinking about getting a breville in addition to the Omega VRT I got from John. It seems that each juicer does different things.
So I'd like to hear from some Breville owners.
Very impressive and informative. Nice Job John
I'm surprised that so many people didn't know about this!
while you can do that to make a juice without the pulp, in my opinion, its not a good idea as the blender is running at 37,000 rpm that adds air to the mixture and significantly oxidizes the juice more than an 80 rpm juicer.
Hi John I started watching your videos and they are very helpfull and very informative...I am having a hard time deciding on wich juicer to buy, I will mainly be doing: carrots, oranges, and some green vegestables! which one you think is the best to suite my needs?
Thanks for this video -it has some great tips about juicing for health. You advice about buying juicers is sound.
very very useful video! i am watching this and making a better choice for my very 1st juicer! thanks very much!
John always great vids...Keep up the excellent work man...Peace!
Thats is a vertical single auger juicer a chinese knock-off of the Omega VRT. I hope to do a comparison video soon.
@rawfoods i want to know whats the best juicer out there no matter what the price is the complete top of the line
That help big time brotha Thank you...I am gonna go buy two of them makes sense! Thanks!
Any way you can get more fruits and vegetables in you in my opinion is beneficial over NOT doing it.
I think you are really helpful thanks so much!!!
You must not be located in the USA. The Coway is not available here. It is basically like a VRT but has a dc motor, that is louder, and may not be as durable as an AC motor. The best investment is the one what will juice best what you want to juice most.
great video ..... but that darn the ice cream truck in your neighborhood really was LOUD :)
Seriously an awesome video! Thanks a lot for making it =]
Hi John, love your site, and youtube page. Thanks!
John is one of the coolest people on the planet. I wish to meet him one day.
you mentioned almost losing your life and in the hospital in your 20's, have you shared your story somewhere?
the lowest price auger juicer I would recommend is the Omega 8003. Save up for it..
And THANK YOU for the video me and my husband want to get healthy and are trying to decide on our first juicer this is VERY helpful!!
excellent, excellent, excellent!!!!
Fantastic video, thank you for doing it!
All the machines you mention are about all the same in terms of quietness. That being said, please watch the latest video where I compare the vertical to horizontal style single auger machines:

which may help in your decision.
Thank you for your helpful information!
