✨ Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema OM, RA, RWS, originally named Lourens Alma Tadema, was a renowned Dutch painter who eventually made his home in the United Kingdom, where he was granted denizen status in 1873. Born in Dronryp, the Netherlands on 8 January 1836, Alma-Tadema was educated at the Royal Academy of Antwerp in Belgium. In 1870, he decided to settle in London, England, where he resided for the remainder of his life, leaving behind a legacy of exquisite artwork.
