  • Sail out, surf in. Repeat! The number of waves one can ride while Winging in certain wind directions is hard to beat. Self tow session. No padding. No ski partner. No worries!
    Summer afternoon here at one of my regular spots for Wing, Prone, SUP and Kite foiling.

    “sometimes I can’t resist” 😂 Thanks for all your vids. This is the kind of riding I aspire to…just learning…about 3 weeks in. Thanks for the inspiration!!

    Seems like a foil would be a must have on the gulf. Every one of those surfers had to be looking going...... ok, wait a minute- I've got to learn that. Definitely the one having the most fun on the beach that day. Killing it in that light wind. Was so light that apparent wind had wing flagging behind you no matter which way you turned!

    • @Lanceisoutside
      @Lanceisoutside  Рік тому

      Definitely my thought. A must have here on the gulf. But after prone and wing foiling here for over 5 years in front of the surfers, im still the only one out here doing it. So I guess they aren’t really thinking how good it is. I’m loving winging in the light winds because the wing is always trailing behind. Feels like prone foiling.

    Nice smooth riding Lance. It looks like you had more fun than the surfers. Have you ever tried the 'Alan Cadiz' method of getting on the board and up on the foil? Basically, in the water, positioned between the board and wing, he goes one hand on wing, one hand & arm on board and lifts himself onto the board in sitting position. Then legs up, to place feet on still sitting, lift wing up and generate power. Use lift and forward pull to assist yourself onto feet, position back foot and pump to get on foil. It would appear to be more efficient / faster than getting to a kneeling position and powering from there. (from a beginner wing-foiler)

      Thanks Doc, I appreciate you! I have not tried that method before. I think ive seen it along time ago. Will have to look into that and practice it. Seem like it takes strong winds? Where do you ride at?

    Looking awesome out there, Lance! I’m actually in Texas right now.. sugar land territory. Wish I could make it down to the Gulf around you.. the water looks real inviting there. But unfortunately can’t make it this time around. Thanks for the tips on calibrating the soloshot last time by the way … I’m having a bit more luck with it now.
    Thanks,
    Dmitri

    Big help learning at 310, 515, 620 - flagged frontside carve wrap into handle switch jibe. Something relaxing about light wind waves. Yearly wave mileage very high for Lance!

      Glad it helped mike. Those turns feel good. Right?! Wave mileage is way up there for me. Wish I knew how many miles i have traveled on foil and how many miles of waves i have ridden. 8 1/2 years of foiling now!

      @michaelrichter7734 never thought about it that way but definitely! No track outs. Oh the joy of being a 1.5 year old foiler! Learning all the time i bet. I have a Alex prototype 1500 wing i use for SUP DW that is magical.

      @@Lanceisoutside Learning that I want more waves, I miss Texas! It truly is an amazing journey this foiling- Plenty current fun projects: backwind, carve 360, heel tacks, pumping bump glide, flag surf hacks and carves, switch rides. Alex wise to send you protos, people see you rip, buy gofoils

    nice! a question: does one have to change hands when wave riding with the wing on the front handle? and if yes, which hand? front? rear? thanx! jordan

    • @Lanceisoutside
      @Lanceisoutside  5 місяців тому +1

      Thanks, Jordan! When waveriding with the wing. I dont change hands much. It’s usually in my trailing hand/ right hand since i am regular foot. I sometimes have to push it out of the way or manipulate it with my other hand sometimes. I do it in this video!
