These are fantastic, but definitely add in more cocoa to give it a more chocolatey flavor. I guess the original recipe (on the Duncan Hines website) called it 'fudge' because of the chocolate chips in it. There really isn't much fudge about it. But as I said, I actually made this recipe up by merging a couple of recipes together.
1 (18.25 oz) box Duncan Hines Signature Red Velvet Cake Mix
1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. water
1/2 c. oil
2 eggs
1 c. chopped pecans (optional)
1 c. semi sweet chocolate chips (optional)
Empty cake mix in a bowl and make a well in center. Add sugar, water, oil and eggs. Mix well and add nuts and chocolate chips. Batter will be thick. Pour and spread batter in a greased 9x13x2-inch baking dish
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min. (I used an 8x8 pan because my family likes thick and chewy brownies. I baked them for 54 minutes.--Use your NOSE. When it starts to smell delicious, check on it.) Cool. Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar (if you want to) and cut into squares.
It is rumored that if you wait until brownies are completely cooled before cutting, they will not dry out after a few days. OBVIOUSLY this was found out by a family who doesn't like brownies much. Who has some left after "a few days"? CORRECTION!! Instagram name is Beth_Bubbly_Toes - Навчання та стиль
